Evergreen Landscaping took our long-neglected, impassable, weed- and junk infested vacant lot and transformed it into a beautiful place for our large extended family to play. They kept us posted through a long permitting process with the state and accommodated the needs of the neighbors. All 40+ of us will look forward to enjoying it for years to come!

Our sixth grandchild had just been born. Packing up six kids, six adults, and all their gear to head to the beach when they visit is a bit of a chore so we decided it was time for a pool. The pool company said they had worked with Evergreen Landscaping many times and that they did great work, so we gave them a call for a plan and a quote.
Aaron came over and looked at the area and asked what I’d like this space to have. I didn’t want to be surrounded by an unfriendly looking privacy fence, so I told him a simple black metal fence and some landscaping to soften the lines and provide some privacy. Since three trees would be removed, we also needed something for shade. Given the space he had to work with, we didn’t expect a very exciting plan, but when he returned a week later and unrolled the plan onto the kitchen table, we couldn’t believe what he had designed. It was like a beautiful, private courtyard. Using some existing arborvitae that a former neighbor had put in between our backyards as a starting point, he extended those to make two living green walls. The other two sides would be lower plants and blooming shrubs, along with two large, existing dogwood trees they would move from another part of the yard. He had designed multiple seating areas, a dining table under a pergola with a retractable shade for the wind and the sun, and plantings to soften and beautify it all without a lot of upkeep on our part. A formerly unused area at one end outside of the fence was to be landscaped like a miniature park. Plus, he thought of all kinds of things that would not have occurred to us until it was too late to add—a foot washing station, multiple hose connections, two small areas of artificial grass to break up the concrete without ever having to bring a mower through the gate, extending the sidewalk around behind the house and adding a large concrete pad for the pool equipment and our bins, and just enough landscape lighting to enhance the area at night without being intrusive to neighbors. We loved the plan so much that we said yes to it all.
We had just as good of an experience when the project began. Evergreen took care of arranging and scheduling the tree removal, electric, irrigation, and concrete companies. Steve oversaw the project, and Ryan and Tanden came each day to work with other crew as needed. They were a joy to work with—extremely hardworking, skilled, friendly, and polite. At the end of each day, they completely cleaned up the site. We really appreciated the quality of their work and the pride they took in doing it well.
We love the finished project. It is so much more than we imagined it could be—not just a nice place to swim but an outdoor living space we use throughout the day, even when the pool is closed.
Towards the end of the construction, we also met Andy, a brother who works on the business side, and Larry, their father and the company owner. They and their employees are all such nice people and a dream to work with. Evergreen Landscaping is a professional, creative, and responsive company, and we are thrilled with how our project turned out.
