I called at 3pm on a Friday bc I saw they were open til 8pm, and I was in a crisis w an 85 yr old toilet that I was trying to replace the insides for and so worried abt causing damage to the original. Les was here in 3 hours, and being the professional he is, took care to treat our lavatory with care and consideration. I appreciate this company and him beyond words. I highly recommend them in every regard.

Les at Butler's Rooter helped me out when I was in a bind. A holiday weekend with a brown water back-up in the basement is never any fun... the job was accurately quoted over the phone, they arrived quickly (before the other places I called could!) & got my sewer line taken care of in no time! Even fixed a broken sink I'd been "meaning to get to". Would definitely recommend Butler's Rooter!

Absolutely wonderful experience, We had a main line sewer clogged in our house, from the time we called to the time they arrived was about 45 minutes, the technician was very professional and had the drain opened in about 20 minutes, he even showed me on the camera that there were roots growing into the pipe, he quickly cleared the blockage and ran water to make sure everything was flowing smoothly. Couldn't have asked for a better experience, I won't be using anyone else from now on!! Thank you Thank you

My main drain pipe was clogged and backed up. Les came on the same day I called (Sat) and cleared it for me. He was professional, personable and competent. I heartily recommend Butler's Rooter based on my experience.

Not very pleased. I had cold/medium water coming from my shower for a week before calling them. I had a suspicion that the hot/cold dial got moved by one of my kids, but wanted to be sure just in case nothing else was wrong. Took half a day off work expecting the technician to arrive between 1-3, and he didn’t come til after 4pm. Strike 1. Then I consulted with the technician all of the things I looked at including checking the “green” status indicator light on my water heater that indicated it was fully operational, then told him about my suspicions of it just being the dial that might have gotten moved. He hmm’d for a while, then had to look up my water heater unit online to see what the green light meant even though it said it on a sticker on the unit. I then left him to it. Then about 15m later he told me all he did was move the dial to “hot” and then told me my total was over $400!!! TO MOVE A DIAL!!!?? Strike 2! Then he stated payment was due right then and there, so I begrudgingly paid. Shortly after he left, I called to speak to a manager about this outrageous fee to move a dial and was told he left for the day and would follow back up with me on Monday as it was a Friday when I called. Well, a whole week and 4 days went by and I decided I was being swept under the rug and decided to call. Strike 3! They did credit back the $85 fee, but then stated “the $325 service charge was the cost for sending out a licensed Plummer”. So, moral of the story is if you have a suspicion that all you need to do is to move your dial from medium to hot, DO IT, unless you’re prepared to get hosed for over $400. I will NEVER do business with them again and will stick to my local plumming company in town.

Les has provides excellent work on multiple projects at my house. He is prompt and communicates everything clearly. Highly recommend!

First, the appointment tool on their website is great, and LOVE the fact that the owner came out to do the estimate.
Les was great and we got the work scheduled right away...a full stack replacement in the basement (it was a DIY job from the previous owner and leaking) and re-route of the dishwasher upstairs.
Dan was prompt and efficient and professional. Just a few hours for the entire project. Unfortunately, we discovered an issue with the dishwasher a few days LATER. After some vacation and communication challenges, Les came out himself the other day. He got right into the unit and rather quickly ID'd the problem and set things completely right.
Appeared the issue was likely due to the unit being pushed back in with haste and the insulation on one side getting tangled with the door pulley.
We will most certainly use Les & his team for any future project and encourage anyone in the Grand Rapids area to seek an estimate from them!

Very good service. Came out late Friday night and again on Saturday for an emergency job. Personable and reasonably priced, especially considering the off business hours and challenging fix.

I had an excellent experience with my plumber. He was professional, patient, and went above and beyond to fix everything that was broken. Despite dealing with a rude and disrespectful customer, he handled the situation with incredible tolerance and professionalism. His work was thorough and high-quality — I truly appreciate his dedication and would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a reliable plumber.

We called and an hour later someone was at our door to take care of a clogged drain. Excellent, professional service. Would highly recommend.

Butler’s came out same day when we had a sewer back up in the basement. Herbie was very knowledgeable and accommodating (100+ year old house with no sewer access point!). He talked me through our issue and gave us some helpful advice to prevent it in the future. As an unexpected bonus he also cleaned up the mess from the back up! I would definitely recommend Butler’s to others, and I’m glad to know who to call myself.

They were excellent from start to finish - were able to get me on the schedule quickly, were fast at figuring out the issue and installing a new water heater, went above and beyond in many ways, and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

We needed what amounted to emergency service to stop a shower faucet handle that wouldn't turn off. Provided same day service. Very knowledgeable and professional. Fixed the problem very quickly and for a very reasonable price. Would absolutely work with them again.

Timely, effective and professional service. Herbie, the technician, was great. On a prior visit several years ago Les offered a solution that I could take care of myself. They could’ve charged me for a call, but didn’t. I can see why they have a five star rating.

Les Butler is the best! Earlier, we had called in one of the other rooter companies who charged us a lot and couldn't solve the problem. Mr. Butler brought in his top-of-the-line equipment, and worked his magic to solve our sewer backup problem. He really knows his stuff, he's a true pro, and is very fair. Highly recommended!

Edit. On Feb 24, 2026, had Zach out to fix a leak under the kitchen sink. He did a wonderful job, very quick and efficient in his work, would highly recommend this company again.

I had a floor replaced in my bathroom and when the toilet was reset it leaked, the flooring person didn't know how to fix it. I called Butler's after 5:30 to see if someone could look at it and within 15 minutes someone was here. He determined it was ok overnight and put me on the schedule for the next day. The following day the plumber was here at the time he said he would be and had the toilet fixed and leak free very quickly. He explained everything and left the bathroom very clean. I would definitely use Butler's again and recommend them.

Zach and Les were professional and courteous. They kept me informed as they searched for the leak and then repaired it quickly after it was found. I highly recommend their services and will use them again, if needed.
