Appliance Repair reviews in Muskegon, Michigan

Very Impressed with the amount of replacement parts they had with them for my machine. But the second time I used them they told me dryer was not repairable because he couldn't remove a gas fitting without breaking it and the part was discontinued. The fitting isn't used anymore because you attached the gas pipe directly to valve instead which apparently he didn't know. Alex's Appliance had the part in stock for a 1/3 of the cost. Complete waste of a service call.

Referred to company under the LG Flat Rate Fee Appliance repair program, but the company refused to perform the repair. Now, weeks later I have to start over with a new repair company.

Just before Christmas, my gas dryer started acting up and the pilot wasn't staying lit. I is still under warranty through Electrolux and the original company they tried to dispatch to me was out of Hesperia (which is almost an hour from me). The company no-called no-showed 3x for scheduled appointments! I requested they hook me up with a different repair company and they dispatched Metropolitan. I couldn't be happier with the ease of scheduling, the urgency of service and their communication. *I* had something come up and was unable to keep my originally scheduled appointment, they were extremely understanding and were able to reschedule for the following business day. Happy to report their tech arrived this morning shortly after the woman from the office called to inform he was on the way. He was polite, kind, efficient and you could tell he knew what he was doing. He checked to make sure nothing was obstructing the vents and there was no lint build up. When those were deemed clear, he promptly got to researching codes and diagnosing the issue. Thankfully, he had the part he needed and quickly replaced it. He made sure to test the dryer before even putting it back together again! I am thankful for their service and impressed with how smoothly everything went. Although they were dispatched via my warranty program; given the level of service I recieved I would absolutely hire them even if I was paying out of pocket for repairs.

These guys are great!! I called on Monday and they were able to get a tech out to fix my oven on Wednesday. They were in my house maybe a total of 30 minutes, super fast and efficient! And reasonably priced too. I will definitely call them for my appliance needs in the future.

They are amazing! I called in a panic when our freezer wasn't keeping things froze and it was going to be 90 degrees out. The gal who answered the phone got me a same day time slot. Tyler came out and fixed my freezer in about 35 minutes. He was very knowledgeable and was prepared to fix my freezer!!

Needed repair on a LG refrigerator. The freeze door kept popping open when you shut the other side and it was generating a lot of heat. The appliance was under warranty and uses this company - so the warranty company scheduled the service for us. First impressions are everything and those went out the window when we called Metropolitan to ask for a call ahead and the lady on the phone responds “I guess”.
The service tech came unprepared. Didn’t have the right tools and used pliers therefore stripping the screws and breaking the plastic underneath. When we provided him a tool, he lost it under the fridge. Said he was going to get a magnet from his truck to retrieve the lost tool and then proceeded to just leave altogether. Before he went out, he said he needs to order parts, but didn’t tell us what was wrong or what was needed. So we still don’t know why it’s heating. What’s even better - whatever he did made it worse. Now the freezer door won’t even stay shut and opens on its own. All my food is frosted over. -
Would recommend them. The young man that came to my home was very polite and knowledgeable about the Maytag appliances I just bought from another company. Washer fixed in record time !

Outstanding service. I called yesterday for a broken dryer, they scheduled my appt for today , they called to let me know when my tech ( James ) was on his way, James was super knowledgeable, friendly, had my dryer diagnosed and repaired in under 30 minutes, left nothing behind, discussed my bill with me , pricing is VERY FAIR , and thanked me for my business. Highly recommend to anyone else who needs an appliance repair to call Metropolitan!

Really needed my oven working for holiday baking and they no call no showed 3 times in a row ! Not to mention each time I left work early to make sure I was home in time. Really awful customer service not sure how these people are still in business .

Worst company ever. They don’t stand by anything they say. The rep called me and told they would be out at noon. My husband called and asked where they were and they said on the way. He calls back an hour later and they said we have to reschedule because someone came out at 9:30. The guy on the phone then argues that he never said noon and he said 9:30. It’s pretty hard to get those times mixed up. I’m not sure if he was knocked over the head or something but it was completely and totally unprofessional with how he wasn’t even trying to solve the situation and argues with me.

Had inop chest freezer, they called and asked PROBLEM, said over phone they knew issue and ordered part, came out 2 weeks later and replaced, charged over$160, it worked for couple hours and quit again I called and several times over 2 weeks they set a time to come out but never showed up each time. Had to pay and someone else repair. Kept getting excuses that were busy, not a reason to not show up or call when make an appointment.
-
I am thrilled with this place!! They came within 2 hours of my calling and after ordering my part they returned the next day and repaired my washer!! Fast, friendly and reasonable.
-
Made an appointment with them to stop out and check the seal on washer. They gave me a window of time 1130 to 1p I waited till 145 then had to go somewhere. They called me at 210 to tell me their truck had brake issues. You would have thought they could have called in the window of time they gave me to tell me they would be late. Poor communication skills, bad business practice.

I'm not going to bore you with the details as there are many. Let's just say you're not going to do any better than Olson's if you need an appliance. Friendly, extremely knowledgeable, priced very well. The folks at Olson's will stop at nothing to get your appliance fixed. I will use no one else at our cottage in Mears.

I have used Olsen's Appliance many times and they have always given me a fair price and went out their way to be helpful and courteous. They fix the problem and do not overcharge or overstate issues in effort to get more out of you. Great company.

As far as purchasing appliances, save up an extra $100 and buy it new.. Example: an old model washing machine, that use to be white but now is yellow, 0 appeal, with old fashion knows was offered for almost $700. New, New model washer $872. I understand small business, but if you know you wint have extra money to get service for an older machine, might as well save that extra money and buy it new.

Ordered a dryer from Olson’s and four months later he still hasn’t finished installing it even though he has been paid for the labor. He is unresponsive when we call him or says he’ll come by but doesn’t, or shows up whenever it pleases him. Terrible service!

The building was really easy to find however I could have saved a trip if they would have just answered the phone. The internet said they were open but when I pulled up the front sign said closed so I almost drove off. They were open though. There was a really nice woman inside. She was very kind to me. But the state of the store???!!! Holy Moly. It looked like a filthy tornado swept through it. And their prices were comparable to Home Depot.

I walked in and asked for a simple dryer. No bells no whistles. Something you put clothes in and press the button and go. Also asked for a reliable unit as I'm not trying to fix it. Guess what I got. No hassle. Was told this is the machine I want and need. Delivered it for free and took my old one away for no charge.
