Rico did a great job of cleaning and inspecting our chimney.
I was impressed on how thorough he was and made aware of any repair work that needs to be done is of high quality and backed up with an impressive warranty!
After this inspection, we needed to have a new chimney cap, several layers of new brickwork and a new chimney liner.
Donnie and the other men working on our project did an outstanding job. They were very professional and respectful of our property. Donnie made sure we knew what to do before using our fireplace, as well as how to maintain it. -
Rico was friendly and thorough. He answered all of my questions and did a great job! 2nd time using BlueSky and 2nd time getting exceptional service from Rico!

Great experience with Blue Sky. Rico did an excellent job cleaning and inspecting our fireplace and chimney. I appreciated that he was very knowledgeable and also took the time to explain everything.

Jaimeson and his crew did an excellent job on the fireplace and top of chimney masonry! I noticed that they filled in gaps by the bricks on the outside of the chimney. They also left everything clean and tidy. We’re so pleased with the craftsmanship, and look forward to making a fire for the holidays!

James, Sam, Mike, and Donnie did an outstanding job at removing the clay tile liners in two chimney flues, installing new liners, and installing new stone, mortar, new rain caps, and new dampers. They exhibited top notch professionalism, were very pleasant to work with, were very hard working, great communicators, kept my house clean and did a terrific clean-up job too. I highly recommend this team!

My experience with Blue Sky Chimney was ultimately good, but it took a 2nd visit to fix issues with the work done on the 1st visit.
My chimney repair estimate from Blue Sky was for a new limestone crown, repair/restoration of the mortar joints between the exterior stones of the chimney, sealing 2 unused flues, and installation of metal flashing between the chimney and the roof.
The 1st visit (2 days of work) was generally mediocre. The repair/restoration of the mortar joints and installation of the crown was poorly done. A number of holes/cracks in the mortar joints were not filled and some of the mortar work on the joints was not done very well. The new crown had some issues including underside corners not being sealed. Also, the flues were not sealed but that was probably due to a lack of communication from the office to the crew. In addition, mortar and/or mortar residue dripped on some windows and on items located on the ground below the chimney (Air Conditioner, gas meter, basement window cover). The one bright spot is they did do a good job on the flashing.
After communicating my dissatisfaction with Dave (owner) he committed to fixing the issues and lined up a crew for a 2nd visit. This 2 days of work went very well. The lead mason was excellent, and he and his team did a great job of correcting all the problems including cleaning up all the mortar that had dripped down on the windows/equipment below from the 1st visit.
My rating is a combination of what I would have rated the 1st visit (3) and would have rated the 2nd visit (5).
One final comment is that although I was comfortable getting up on the roof and inspecting the chimney after each visit, one may want to consider hiring a different company or person to do an inspection after any major work to your chimney regardless of the company that does the work. -
James was very professional. Very thorough, neat and tidy. No mess. Although I wish he had things like gasket adhesive to repair the gasket on our insert fireplace. But otherwise great job . TY

What an expert crew! They were timely, efficient and did an amazing job communicating with me. They also left my home spotless despite the high risk of ash and black charcoal residue being deposited anywhere! I would not hesitate to recommend their services

Have used Blue Sky twice now and each time was very happy with their service. Every employee from the sweeps that I've met to the lovely receptionist are warm, knowledgeable, and just generally a great vibe. High recommend!

Rico is our guy who has kept our fireplace in great, safe shape. He’s very professional, friendly, and explains what is being done or needs to be done very well. He’s been coming to our place for over 7-years. Would absolutely recommend Blue Sky Chimney Sweeps for your fireplace needs. Thank you again Rico!

I recently had Blue Sky Chimney Sweeps come and clean and inspect the chimney in my home. During the inspection, it was discovered that my liner was badly damaged and needing repair, as well as the top cement cap. While I respected their input, I wanted to get a second opinion, so had a independent home inspector/chimney inspector come and as well, who came to the same conclusion.
Knowing it needed to be done, I had Blue Sky and another company provide a quote for the project. Blue Sky had a more reasonable price, was more timely with providing the quote, not to mention it is who I had used for cleaning. I also appreciated that when reviewing the quote, I was able to talk directly with the owner who explained the process and my options.
Picture attached, where they capped one chimney no longer in use, and put a new cover on the other as part of the replacement of the interior liner, not to mention the full concrete top and drip edge. -
2nd time using Blue Sky and there staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. James arrived on time and cleaned both chimneys and quickly and thoroughly and was very friendly, positive and took great care to ensure the work space stayed clean with one location having carpet.

Timely, professional, and knowledgeable staff. James communicated extremely clearly with us about the cleaning, was early to the job, finished early, and had great suggestions on future maintenance that we can do, both ourselves and with them professionally to have the chimney have the longest life span possible. Thanks for the great service!

*I edited this review changing the 3 stars to 4 following the owner's comment clarifying the no-show lying inspector was from the city*
Blue Sky did substantial repairs on our main chimney and stabilized (sealed to stop crumbling) our unused secondary chimney stack. The work from what I can tell was done well enough, though I think I will need to get a second independent inspector to verify (more on that later).
I must say, though, that the communication throughout the process was very poor. I played phone tag with the owner for weeks leading up to actually getting the work scheduled (or so I thought). This involved multiple instances of scheduling a phone call for a specific time and then having to reschedule when there was no answer. Eventually we got "on the calendar" for mid October with the precise date to be determined. After October 15 came and went without any followup I reached out and the work got scheduled for the 20th or 21st (I forget which date exactly). I guess still technically Mid-October, but it sounded like we had not actually made it on the calendar until that moment.
After the work was completed the co-owner reached out immediately to complete the payment. However, I noticed that the fireplace doors where not re-installed correctly (the pull chain had been pinned to the wall behind the edge of the door and was therefore inoperable). I asked Dave to send someone out to finish to re-install the doors and they came out promptly to do so and were very cordial. But, if they were so busy to not put the doors back on properly, what else might have been skipped? I guess I'll have to hire someone else to answer that.
When the city inspector did not show up to check the work, the co-owner said she would have the inspector clear the work with photos alone. We did not understand that the inspector was from the city, though. I tried to call the co-owner for multiple days in a row and left a message. No response.
Fast forward a couple weeks. No message back about whether the inspector cleared us or not, so I called again to ask. Still no one picked up again despite calling during business hours. The co-owner then texted saying "Sorry i missed ur call....the city inspector passed the inspection from the final pics he requested....sorry if i didn't pass on that info to u."
I think that basically says it all. At the end of the day, was the work done and a reasonable price? Yes, it seems that way. Was the experience a headache and significantly unprofessional? Also yes. If you are a potential customer, you will have to decide for yourself is these issues are something you are willing deal with for what is otherwise fair work at a fair price. I will say Dave was always willing to fix the issues that came up after the fact, so that is good. Please read his comment below to get his side of things as well. -
Did a great job on both the sweep and installing a new liner for our fireplace. We checked around a few places for the liner - they were the best price and able to get it done the fastest. We really like the lifetime warranty too!

James from Blue Sky was fantastic. Extremely respectful and professional around the process of cleaning our fireplace chimney. He was thorough and explained everything. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy our fireplace without the stress of worrying whether or not it was safe. Highly recommend.

I had a great experience with this company and their sweep James. Easy booking, confirmation email, and James called me before he arrived. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain what he was going to be doing during his visit. He left no trace behind. I highly recommend this company and James!

We had Bluesky Chimney Services clean and inspect our daughter’s fireplace. Their representative, James was awesome! Extremely knowledgeable and just a great person to boot. I would highly recommend their services!!
Back again….the inspection found that the liner was damaged. Pictures were provided identifying where the problem areas were. The recommendation was that the fireplace not be used until the issue was resolved.
We had Blue Sky perform the fix. Their crew of masons removed the damaged clay liner and replaced it with a stainless steel liner and replaced the damper. They also weatherproofed the chimney crown at no cost to us. The cost to do all of this seemed fair. Pictures were provided upon completion showing the install. The crew was great and they left the area spotless.
Would I use Blue Sky again, absolutely! -
This is our first fireplace cleaning as we just had it installed a couple years ago!
Rico came to do our cleaning. He was on time, professional, and he left not a speck of dust behind!
We were very impressed and will use your service again. Highly recommend Rico and his work ethic!! Thank you!! -
Once again Blue Sky did a great job serving my chimney and fireplace repair needs. I needed to have repair work done and a new liner placed. James and Donnie were the masons doing the work. They were on time, polite, explained everything to me, answering all questions. They were respectful of my home and left everything in good order. I highly recommend Blue Sky.

I just saw the update from the owner, it is not fake! From my email to the owner. Additionally, if they can't find an email they probably won't warranty their work.
Raquel,
Thanks for your communication and I totally understand your concerns.
Ask as many questions as you need to. Not a problem.
I recommend that you google search this question:
Is a fireplace operable with a damaged liner?
You'll get an unbiased answer to your question.
My initial review: As a first time homeowner, I had a cleaning/inspection and was given a $9000 estimate for service to fix my fireplace. I am so thankful that I did multiple estimates that came back 75% cheaper (without the metal liner cost). They didn't even go on the roof. The owner was very responsive, which I appreciate but wouldn't recommend .
