LawnStarter did an awesome job of finding a professional service to handle my weekly mowing while I was in the process of moving. I would highly recommend their services and would not hesitate to use them again if I ever have the need.

I had cheth with LawnStarter mow my yard today and could not be happier with the detail of how he edged the sidewalk and around all our trees and great care to how I wanted my grass at a certain length like I said could not be more pleased with the service would recommend cheth to anyone looking to have there lawn taking off your chore list.

These guys are fantastic! Right now I am using their lawn mowing and maintenance, but will be using them for other services as needed. The pro they send me is awesome! Always on time and does a great job! I highly recommend LawnStarter for any yard service needed!!!

Wow! What can I say? LawnStarter found the most amazing pro to help me get my yard ready to list my house! Pascal was attentive and made sure his vision would come to life and he blew my expectations out of the water! The app is very easy to use to see services and message your pro! I highly recommend!

TLDR: Find any other available option. Consider buying a goat over using these guys.
I first attempted to sign up for Lawnstarter service last fall. The crew assigned to mow my lawn showed up, claimed "mowing was not needed" and then left. I ended up having to mow it myself.
Cut to this spring. Same thing the first time a crew showed up. Lawn was already at least 4 inches, but "didn't need mowing". 2 weeks later the next scheduled service was completed, but poorly. Grass length was terribly uneven, no edging was done and clippings were not blown off of walkways. Because the lawn was so long due to their deferred service, I now have a hayfield that and have needed to rake up clippings to prevent dead spots from forming. -
Connor did an awesome job!! Love his work ethic and commitment to his.

Wanted to do the first time customer special they had. My grass was pretty long afree being too busy with traveling back and forth for work and I put the max amount that they had for length. I was told I’m an idiot for thinking they would charge the move in special and I shouldn’t lie about the length of my grass (I didn’t), then was told it would be 450$ to cut my grass.
Edit…..
They reached out and rose was great with communication. Lawn starter on the other hand was supposed to come out on 11/3, I was told it was rescheduled the next day (I had to reach out to rose who then had to reach out to lawn starter), this continued until 11/7 when they finally came out. I was charged a 60$ long grass fee which they were unable to waive even after lying previously and telling me $450. I would have done it myself if I were not injured. Again rose was great with communication, which I why I gave the extra star, but this entire thing overall had been very stressful
After speaking with Rose again she was able to process the refund for me which was $89 thank you -
Quoted price of $67 before lawn was mowed; then LawnStarter charged and withdrew $150 from credit card on file--without notice, more than double the amount stated. Work was sloppily done--did not edge around sidewalks, long grass left between "passes". I was not happy with the work, but hated to leave negative feedback as the young man apparently is just starting his lawn care company. But after being bilked for a job poorly done, I need to post about my experience. Called LS and and they begrudgingly credited us $47. Crap job, crap company.
September 17, 2025. Spent the morning interacting with an independent mediator concerning my initial negative experience with LawnStarter. She was thorough and brought a positive resolution to my concerns.
Additionally, "King James Lawncare" a sub-contrator came out on 9/15/2025 and did an excellent job on the lawn. Lesson learned: Not all LawnStarter sub-contractors are equal--but their attention to my issue with performance and cost was very good. Thank you to the customer service reps from LawnStarter and the mediator, who brought a satisfactory resolution to my issue. -
We were very pleased with the mowing that Barry did on our lawn yesterday. The cutting was very even. His trimming of the sidewalk, driveway and our fence was spot on. Our lawn has never looked better. You can tell that Barry takes great pride in the quality of his work and it definitely shows!!

To start, I loved the idea of downloading an application and being able to order all the lawn services I could need from one spot. However, that's where the convenience ends. The communication feature of the app is impossible to figure out. Even their lawn care professionals have difficulty with it. I started the service on about 8/28/2020. As of 9/15/2020 I've had, from what I can tell and it's confusing, 5 teams assigned to work on my lawn. The weekly mow is to include mowing, walkway edging and blowing the clippings off hard surfaces. The lawn mowing team has now had to come out twice because of the terrible job, and it still isn't right. And that's after 3 teams had to quit before they even started. In addition, the original request for was yard clean up and for a mow. Well it appears one of the professionals was going to do both, and then when they couldn't come, a new professional was hired to only do the mow and a different one to do the clean up, but they didn't coordinate so the mower came out, mowed around all the debris, then the clean up crew came and now I have spots of unmowed grass, not to mention the mower didn't blow the clippings off hard surfaces until the 2nd time they came out, and also did a terrible job with the edging. Buyer beware here. The crew that did end up doing the clean up charged more and didn't do all of the things the original crew was going to do. LawnStarter says I approved the new quote, but I can't find record that I did, and again, their App is a nightmare. And if I did somehow approve a new quote, I have no idea why it would be for less services and more money and why I would accept that? Countless customer service emails and haven't really gotten far. Also if you don't mention it to them, since it took them a few weeks to get out, they'll charge you a long grass cut fee because, well it's been a few weeks to get a team out. They did remove this fee upon my request. They lock you into 3 mows to work out the kinks, but honestly, the hassel has been so great for a simple mow and clean up, it's very frustrating that you have to stick with them for 3 mows. 2.5 weeks of this craziness is enough. I have canceled my service. If they want to suspend the final 2 mows I would appreciate it. Photos included are after the crew came out to fix the edging...still not fixed.

Very easy and convenient to use! After 4 other lawn companies were unable to service my property, LawnStarter matched me up with Gadiel with Sandrez Lawn Care Service, and he’s been amazing! Highly recommend using this app and Gadiel’s reliable services

They set you up with a third party group and call them pros. They are anything but pros. The first group showed up and left before they did anything. Second group didn't show and third group didn't show. Customer service was not helpful at all after each time I called. The pros had good reviews on the site, but wouldn't let me leave a review as they didn't end up doing service. If LawnStarter had employees doing the work and they didn't show they would probably get fired so it shouldn't be any different for these third party companies.

Wow! Just completely shocked by the quality of my service! As a first time customer never in my life would I think to come home from work and see this! Why did this so called “pro” cut my grass in a million different directions!? My lawn has damage. Flowers were cut. All the grass is uneven. Grass clippings everywhere! Holes randomly everywhere! If I knew it was going to be this bad I would have just done it myself! As a company that specializes in grass services you would think they know what they are doing!

The thing that stands out for us 25 years after the redesign of our kitchen , dining room, deck, and stair cases is how modern and open the design still feels and how durable the construction has been. It remains unique and fun. Thank you Sticks and Stones.

We passed on a service because it was out of our price range, but did use two of his other services, which were completed just fine. My husband heard him loudly talking badly about me on our front porch because of the service we didn't use.
We wanted to do a native pollinator garden and a rain garden - he told us all the other things he wanted to do instead. He also asked "what we would do with our dog" to prevent damage to his work when he was done. Not sure what he wanted from us with that question but we said that'll be our job to take care of.
So we settled on having him de-weed our yard and put in a path for us. It took several follow ups with him to get everything squared away.
He can likely get the work done fine; basic communication, respect, and pricing are just very hit or miss.
