I asked A Tree Service for an estimate to remove a tree. They asked for pictures of the tree, so I sent them promptly. When I declined to reveal what quotes I had received from other tree services, they then refused to provide me a quote...? Apparently they are not too interested in doing business.

Good. Came right on time and got the whole job done quickly. I especially liked the fact that they called Excel to get the power lines back up before they were fully done with the base of the tree and stump.
This was important for me because I work from home and need my desktop computer for work.

I would recommend them to anyone in the area needing a tree removed.

Wow. Just tried to get a quote from them, and what a rude, unprofessional person. We had an ash tree taken down by them about 3-4 years ago in Saint Paul for about $350-$400. We need another ash tree taken down this year, and he quoted me $900. I asked why such a large discrepancy, and he got extremely rude and gave me some nonsense about costs being higher. More than double in 3 three years? Hardly. He then basically hung up on me. MORE than happy to give some other place our business.

These guys are so rude and unprofessional. My neighbor used them to cut down a tree. They told my wife the morning of that the power would be off for 3 hours - inconvenient, but understandable. The power was off for 8.5 hours! It's 20 degrees outside and my wife works at home.

When I went to the crew the guy would not give me his name, the managers name, or their phone number. The crane they used was in my yard without asking permission and they left the boards laying there. Totally ridiculous.

Friendly, professional service! Contracted by the city to cut down a tree on my property. Their pricing was great and they were efficient at getting us scheduled. Friendly staff and workers. Tree removal and stump grinding.

It was a pleasure working with Cleave. Scheduling was quick and easy. Price was very reasonable for the great job they did. They cleaned up my yard after they were done and when one of the stumps wasn't as ground down as I wanted, they came back and did it free of charge.

Cleve and team were fantastic. They coordinated a huge Elm tree (Ugh!
Dutch Elm!) take-down in south minneapolis, coordinating with neighbors and the city. It required a crane and multiple other vehicles. Cleve was communicative, friendly and overall a pleasure to work with, as was his son. We strongly recommend A Tree Service.

Had a great experience in contrast with the more recommended Bratt tree in the neighborhood. A Tree service was cheaper and more willing to do things as I asked. I wanted a Tree just trimmed away from the house, not pruned, thinned, and trimmed 100%. I like the shade, just not the squirrels getting onto my roof. A Tree Service was willing to do this. Bratt was not. And to get a small tree removed was around $60 cheaper with A Tree Service. They were very friendly, did the work professionally and in a timely matter. Will recommend them and use them in the future!

They worked quickly and were polite. My fence was directly under the tree and is still standing! 2 pickets were broken and they will be back to repair them. I had a great experience with them. The city contracted them for my diseased Ash and I am happy with the decision.

I never write reviews but I feel compelled to warn other people to stay away from this company. Lane Anderson (who ironically wrote one of the fake positive reviews here on Google) came out to do our estimate. He was nice enough but started to pressure us to make a decision on the spot. During the estimate he turned to my husband who is a person of color and said "If you do not pay we will send collections after you." Right away they assumed we do not have the means to pay. We should have taken this as a warning sign but we needed the tree cut down. He told us we needed to pay $100 down, that they would make an appointment for the next week and that we would have a month from the date of service to pay. A week past after they cashed our down payment check and we heard from no one. I called Lane and left a message. He called me back the next day to tell me that he had "talked to the office" and they had decided that they would need at least $600 to show up to do the work, that they needed credit card information and employer information for both my husband and I, and that they wouldn't be able to do the work for two and a half more weeks.

Needless to say that is ridiculous. I did not appreciate their manipulation, shiftiness, assumption that we don't have the ability to pay, and changing the terms that were agreed upon. I requested my down payment back and cancelled the job. They sent the down payment check only after I threatened them with my lawyer.

On a positive note I went straight to Bratt Tree Removal and they did an amazing job for cheaper and within the week of the estimate!

Excellent service and fair price. Nothing rude about anyone of this group of professionals. Worked in 5 degree weather and took down a large maple on a tight site in a few hours. Cleaned up and did a major stump grind where I intend to put a slab this spring. I recommend Cleve and his crew. Nothing negative from us!

Awesome customer service! Greg followed up on a quote I received from them late last fall, within a few days Lance was out to survey the tree and surrounding area, and the next day the trimming was done! They even cleaned up the old leaves that were still in the area. I came home to trimmed tree and a clean yard. I found their service prompt and professional, and their pricing the best in town. I will definitely recommend them to my friends/family and neighbors. Thanks A-Tree Service!

Our tree was contracted by the city to A Tree to cut down. I have to say they did a good job removing and cleaning up the area at an affordable price. The customer service and communication however needs a lot of improvement. The letter from city of MPLS said to call and schedule a time if we need to remove cars, fences, etc for A Tree to come remove. The city gave us a deadline of only a few weeks to remove the tree from the property. I called A Tree to make a schedule or at least get an estimated date of when they will be coming because I have cars that I need to move and no one got back to me. I had to follow up a few times via phone and email for anything to happen.

I would say if you’re not in a hurry and just want to get a tree removed at an affordable cost then I would recommend but don’t expect to have great service. If we weren’t on a tight schedule from the city and I was made aware to ignore the timeline because it’s been contracted out, then maybe my experience could’ve been different.

A tree service was absolutely phenomenal to work with! We had a tree with Dutch Elm that needed to be removed. Their pricing was by far the most reasonable after getting quotes from 20+ companies. They let us know the work would be done within the week, and it was done within HOURS! Yard looked amazing, no issues at all. Highly recommend them and will be calling them for all future services!

These guys did an awesome job. They did bury a golf hole, but honestly I didn't tell them it was there. I easily found it again. And they did it while doing a very thorough cleaning job. They even cleaned my neighbor's yard. He was ecstatic. Thanks for taking the time and keeping me informed.

Billy, Delli, Jesse and crew were fantastic! They worked hard, and did a great job clearing out 3 mature ash, and one big pine. The communication was solid from the beginning to the end, including lining up the estimate, and after the job was done. Much appreciation for the reasonable prices, quality of work, and knowledgeable team.

Dale and his team were great! Took down two ash trees in backyard. Had to take apart fence and put it back together perfectly. Cleaned up very well from tree and stump grinding. Laid boards down so minimal damage to yard even with wet conditions. Would highly recommend!

A Tree Service is the best in the tree industry. They have friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional staff that are amazing to work with. They are very affordable and do a wonderful job; my yard was cleaner when they left than before they arrived! I had my Maple tree in my backyard trimmed several times and the bushes on the side of my house removed. They listened to what I wanted done, made some extra suggestions and my tree is healthy and full of life! I also had them plant two tress in my front yard, which are thriving and growing perfectly. I highly recommend them for anyone looking to get their tree(s) trimmed and/or removed.

A Tree Service did a fantastic job on two trees in my yard, down, stumped, cleaned up and hauled away. Great service and very professional throughout the whole experience. I would recommend this company and will use them again in the future.

Excellent customer service, quote came in much cheaper than anyone else. Everyone on the crew was kind and easy to have a conversation with. They had to dismantle part of my fence to get the equipment into the backyard, but they did a great job replacing it. Would definitely recommend and/or use again in the future.

Every employee that came to our house for the removal of two trees was beyond polite and professional. We couldn’t be more happy. Great job!
