My wife and I (actually, our entire family) have been customers for years. We recently bought an item that didn't work out for what we wanted. My wife drove 45 minutes (hour and a half round trip) to return it and when she got there the Bachman's employee said "we're not accepting returns right now, come back on Friday". I get that they are trying to limit people coming and going due to COVID-19, but if they would have told us that upfront, we wouldn't have purchased from them this season. Now, we won't purchase from them any season.

Incredibly helpful staff, good selection of live plants and flowers. I went in to look for silk flowers for a specific event, and that selection was a bit sparse, but I doubt there's much of a demand for that sort of item. But because of the helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness of the store and selection of items, I easily give it 5 stars.

Prices are all over the place, some plants that should not be more than 20 are almost 50 and in general are high; also beware that some tags are not fully printed, tried to buy a yucca that I thought was $19.99 but it turned out was $49.99. Employees are hit or miss, but the store does have a good selection.

Zero stars if I could - 2 out of the 3 staff at the register (didn’t have contact with 3rd) were snooty and totally not helpful!!! I felt as if I was imposing on them by asking questions and ultimately doing THEM a favor with my purchase!! Definitely taking my business elsewhere!!!!

Like other reviewers have mentioned, the employees on the garden center side of the Plymouth location are seriously lacking customer service skills. The only reason I go to this store is because it’s close, there are many times I’ve left and had horrible experiences and said I’d never go back. Yesterday was another one of those times. I love the customer service at the large Bachmans on Lyndadale in Minneapolis but this one is worth skipping.

I visit the Plymouth Bachman's location for my company's office plant and floral needs. I have been there numerous times over the past five years and when I visit I spend good money. I have not had good customer service at this location once. I do not exaggerate - NOT ONCE. I have tried giving them the benefit of the doubt each time, but am now through. I have never been greeted, I have never been asked if I need assistance, I have been passed over while standing in line waiting for checkout, and I have been given attitude when I ask for help. I prefer to shop where my business is welcomed and appreciated. That is not here. I won't be shopping at Bachman's any longer.

Nice store with good selection of house and outdoor plants. Most plants have clear labeled instructions for care. The staff is informative about the plants and caring for them, but they don't really move at a fast pace. Very small selection of pots with drainage holes, even though having one for your potted plants is ideal. Good store for people who don't have a green thumb.

Not a good experience, took my Aunt who used a walker. She found what she wanted, and a few extra items. Me not so much. Found a beautiful fountain but couldn't find a price, found a associate who couldn't find it either she went and got a manager and she found it. It was 249.00 out of my price range, she stated it was the last one and do I want it or not? I stated no it was more than I what I wanted to spend but thank you. She immediately turned and walked away. I found another fountain and purchased that one. I then found a cute little piece with 4 little blue birds perched on a leaf. I turned it over to see the price, the price tag had been ripped off, with just one piece of the tag on it, looked wore. It was the only one, asked the same associate about the price on this item, she stated that she hadn't seen that item in a long time. I told her perhaps it was a return, she thought so too. She went and got the same manager, she turned it over and got a look disgusting look on her face and said to me "you know its easier for us if you just find one with a price tag on it." I felt like I was slapped in the face. I Informed her I couldn't find another one. She proceeded by getting on the the phone with other stores and looking on the computer. 20 minutes later, was still looking couldn't still find. Probably a out of stock item not in the system anymore, and it was a return item thrown on the sales floor. I had, had enough, and my Aunt was tiring went to the check out. Spent close to hundred dollars. She came to me and said she found something like it but bigger for around 60.00, I told her I did't think so, she agreed, she took my phone number and said she would call me if she found out what the price was. Needless to say she never called back.Wouldn't was to spend another penny of my money at that store, they don't seem to want to make a sale anyway. I work in retail my store doesn't treat their customers that badly, wouldn't ever be back.

Manager with pixie cut was really rude. She told Jim to not help me and to not apologize. Really poor customer service. If I could put a -1 start review I would just because of her. Other employees are really friendly and helpful but not her. Jim in the other hand, he was really friendly and willing to help. He needs to get promoted.

I enjoy going to Bachman's, even though the prices are a bit higher than Lowes or Home Depot. The store is beautifully laid-out, and I always find a few things that I didn't know I needed when I stop in! Despite the higher prices, you get what you pay for in service and quality.

I have been trying to checkout for 20 minutes. There are employees doubled up on one register and look confused as to what to do. Several other employees are standing next to a register not in service and looking at a piece of artificial turf trying to decide what the dimensions are. I experienced this same issue at a different register.
As I am leaving the store without making my purchases, one of the employees looked at me and I told her how unhappy I was with my experience. She gave me a blank stare and didn’t say anything as I left.
I’ve been here before and had better service. Not sure what was happening there today. :(

I’ve been shopping at this Bachmans for 20 years and it’s been a steady decline. Houseplant costs are exorbitant most of the time (you can find some occasional deals) and the quality is declining. Last year I was visiting and the kind man who was tasked with watering plants had no idea what was what and was under/overwatering. We struck up a conversation and I ended up teaching him which plants were which and how much water they needed. He was very grateful, thanking me repeatedly, and said he’s had no training!! Yikes. No wonder the plants are in such a state. I bought a gorgeous string of pearls two years ago, only to unfurl the strings to find them infested with bugs (scale) when I got home. I brought it back and their horticulturist basically said “yeah that happens.” I have close to 300 houseplants so I’m NOT okay with bringing an infestation in, especially from a “reputable” nursery! I overlooked the aphids that infested the pepper plants I brought home in 2021, because aphids are wimpy and the plant was outside.

Today was the last straw. I went in to buy some plants and was disappointed by the price and selection, but I bought a few anyway. I asked if they’d be open to donating a plant or two to fundraiser for the elementary school a few blocks away. They said no, only if it was a silent auction?? Considering oxalis plants are currently $3.50, I was surprised to hear they wouldn’t even consider donating a plant or two that they clearly are trying to move. I will no longer be patronizing this store. If I want high prices, I’ll go to Tonkadale where at least they have a good selection and take care of their plants. I’m so sad writing this as this Bachman’s has been my favorite for so long. I can’t justify giving them any more of my money.

Very disappointed!Their customer service and staff are severely lacking! Had to chase down employees! Nobody was interested in helping me and when I asked questions I just got shrugs! I had to wander around their big store hoping to get lucky! I did finally find the Bush my wife was looking for... But there were no carts! I had to lug a huge bush from one end of the store to the other. (only one register open). Prices are ridiculous! $40+ for a trowel!

Bachman's really does have some of the best and beautiful product around. For this alone I would give 5 stars plus. My reasoning for giving less than that is because of MY experience with the manager, Rene. She is short with her staff and seems to be so busy that she cannot take the time to walk one of them through a delivery order that involved using a courier with a new system not familiar to Deb, who, by the way, tried her best. Instead of walking her through the process, other co-workers were involved in getting it figured out, which took a long time. My largest part of the complaint involves the courier fee. Deb called them to find out what the delivery charge would be and was told $27.53. I agreed to that and she proceeded with the order. Rene came by and said to charge $35.00. When I questioned that, I was told that the company charges a fee for gas. A 30% fee on top of the price they quoted to Bachman's? It is not included in the price the courier charges? I was told one price and then charged another. And then she just walked away and left her staff with the situation. Her soft skills definitely need work, both with the staff and the public they serve. I had absolutely no problem with the staff as I could see they were trying their best but cannot say the same for Rene. She could have been more empathetic considering the amount of time I spent as they got it figured out. I will go back to using our local, independent florist who treat their customers with respect and as if they value their business and would like them to return.

Good, helpful service, this is where I've gotten all my plants! There were definitely done plants I couldn't find though.

Many small annuals were selling at 25% sale. The selection was pretty good, but prices were higher than last spring.

Very beautiful decor for the home. Everything is great quality but research pricing on items you can obtain elsewhere. For items you can only find here or plants you can't go wrong. Some gift type items you would probably be better off checking online or at another store. I've found things priced $1-$2 over other local stores for exact same candle, soap, kitchen gadget. Flowers and plant quality and employee knowledge and helpfulness make it worth the trip.

I’ve always enjoyed my visits to this location, but today really just bothered me. The cart attendant was extremely inappropriate while I was trying to buckle my baby into his car seat. He tried to take my (full of purchases) cart. I asked him to please give me just a moment. 60 seconds later I look back and he’s picking up my personal belongings and purchases out of the cart without my permission. The corral 10 feet away had multiple carts in it if I really couldn’t have 3 minutes with mine in the parking lot. It left a bad taste in my mouth.
