Joel and his amazing crew just finished our patio/driveway. Absolutely fabulous! They started the project on time (even though i was certain it would be delayed due to all the bad weather we've been having), and completed the entire job in just 4 days! Joel applied “Thin Brick” around my fireplace in our new custom home. A week later he applied to coats of white satin enamel paint. I brought my wife by the next day to get her feedback. You should have seen her face light up! I swear there was an angelic choir in the background! She absolutely loves it! Kris and Darryl refaced our living room fireplace with natural stone and we took the stonework all the way to the ceiling. It was a 3 day job and they were fabulous and easy to work with. They are true artists. We know our fireplace is one of a kind. Highly recommend English Stone!

We found English Stone by doing a web search and were very happy to learn, after we decided to go with them, that a few of our family and friends had used them as well. The quality of work, the professionalism, and the general niceness of the crew and owner made our experience a very positive one. We had a concept of what we wanted done, and when they came out to give us a quote, he not only understood what we wanted, but was able to add to our vision. I really recommend them and we will definitely be using them in the future for other projects that we would like done.

English Stone did a fantastic job installing a new stone patio for us. They were efficient and got the job done exactly when they said they would. They also were sure to ask me questions to ensure it looked exactly the way we wanted it. My neighbors were astounded that they finished the job so quickly. We were thrilled with Joel and his team from start to finish. Joel took the time to listen to our ideas for our project (replacement of a large retaining wall, removal of some large, old trees and creation of a patio) and gave lots of ideas on how it could be made even better. He was totally flexible on us using a different firm for new concrete work, but also came up with the most comprehensive and best value quote for the main project.
The project was run perfectly - everything happened exactly when we were told it would, the team were punctual, polite, and very good at what they did, explaining how they would do the engineering, and even re-used some of the old stone. Cleanup was handled very well, and the finished product looks fantastic as they've created a mortarless look with different colors and textures of stone in the wall and patio. We get lots of complements from our neighbors, and we couldn't be happier with the result.

Simply put, if you don't go with English Stone for your project, you're crazy. These guys are absolutely fantastic. Total transformation of our lot. Joel worked with me every step of the way to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I had the same project bid out by Lee's Landscaping and it was $15k more, $15K!!! They work hard, clean up after themselves and do A+ work, what more could you ask for. Do yourself a favor and hire English Stone.

Joel and his crew came out to redo our patio and walk way in the backyard and we are thrilled with the entire experience! He answered the phone every time I called (not always the case with landscapers), came out right away for an assessment and even managed to squeeze us in months before he initially thought he could get to the project. There were no hidden costs or any surprises in the project. He was able to match existing stones perfectly and now our backyard is the oasis that we always wanted! We have spent many summer nights sitting on the patio and we are looking forward to showing it off to all our friends! Joel and his team built a new entryway for us last Fall. It turned out better than we expected! Joel ia a very patient craftsman and communicates well. Joel's team is very professional and we found them willing to listen and flex with our requests throughout the entire process. We look forward to working with English Stone again in the spring as we add stone work to our home.

English stone breathed new life into my crumbling 90-year old front steps. The workers took a lot of care and went above and beyond what I expected. I'd be happy to use them again and recommend them!

Joel and his team of guys are most certainly worthy of my time to write this review. Joel heard my hesitation to put in a patio, and immediately addressed my concerns. His estimate was spot on (ultimately less than his verbal estimate) and not a dime more was charged to me even though the project scope increased as the project was underway.
The patio has exceeded my expectations, it looks lovely!
I was impressed with how well and quickly the grass came in that the guys laid and I wanted to know the secret, bc I had some other areas in my yard that needed grass. Joel personally returned and laid the “magic” seed for me! Now that is exceptional customer service!

Our experience with English Stone has been great! My wife and I meet Joel at a chruch event and discussed our project with him. We did stone around our corner gas fireplace and it turned out fabulous! Joel's team did a great job on it and we are very pleased with the work and how they cleaned up after the work was done.

I used English Stone to reface my fireplace through an Angie's List Big Deal. Joel was very responsive with my many email questions, and he was able to install a few days after choice of stone. His installers were courteous and did a good job covering floors, limiting mess, and cleaning up. Unfortunately (through no fault of English Stone), I discovered that the stone they were installing was the wrong color. The supplier had mistakenly given them the wrong stone. Joel and his guys were very apologetic, as was the supplier. As soon as the new stone came in, they were back at my house installing the new stone, with no expense to me. Another note - my hearth turned out to be deeper than the standard hearthstones, so they had to fabricate custom stones to fit. Again, no additional expense to me. They were able to install everything in less than a day. My fireplace looks great. Price was good. I would definitely recommend English Stone to anyone and would use them again in the future.

Summer 2019, Joel’s team set 5 50-lb cast keystones for me in a very old stone retaining wall in Saint Paul. I was very impressed with the meticulous care the masons took in removing old bricks and mortar, in setting the stones in this 7 foot wall, in replacing the missing bricks, and in tuckpointing cracks. The wall looks so good now that I have engaged English Stone for some additional stonework Spring 2020. I recommend English Stone highly to anyone looking for first-rate reliable stone craftsmanship.

It's not often perfection can be captured, Joel and his crew from English stone is the prime example of craftsmanship excellence. Their attention to detail and willingness to adapt to the changing project direction at any time is what makes working with them so easy. Joel and his team did an excellent job with our stonework leading to the front door and the patio in our garden. Professional and efficiently done.

Joel and crew did a beautiful job replacing our random stone front walkway, tuck pointing the front steps and replacing 3 concrete steps with real stone steps. English Stone is easy to work with. Joel has great taste and delivers what he promises to do. The stone he selected for the project was gorgeous, and match the existing stone. English Stone is more expensive than his competitors, but you get what you want and more. Well worth the extra cost.

English Stone did an absolutely fabulous job on our front stoop. It's beautiful and elegant. Our neighbors are thanking us for helping to raise property values in the neighborhood.
