Over the last winter, our trash was not picked up on several occasions due to the "weather" however our alley is/was plowed every snow storm and we have no unsafe alley "conditions". All other trash service companies picked up in the same alley the same weeks... Anyways, so after the winter months, our trash continued to be missed or not picked up even tho the bill was paid. In April I had enough and canceled their services.

I have had their garbage container in my alley in the correct position for over three months and I have called every week asking when they would be picking up their container. For weeks, I have been promised they would be coming, and every week it still sits. I have called and requested to speak to the manager and she won't return my calls. She won't resolve the issue. The staff just takes my number and passes on the message. I am beyond livid at this point. I received a bill for the last three months of service, which was canceled and the container is still full of trash from APRIL.

I just have reached a point where I just don't even know what I can do any more. They won't work with me or take care of the problem and ignore multiple requests.

About 2 months ago or longer, our garbage cart was damaged. Several garbage drivers did not report the damaged garbage cart. About 1 month ago, I needed new garbage because it was damaged. Between the City of St. Paul & Waste Management, I felt that I was “forgotten.” Someone did not talk to each other. After that I had to send another email to the city, As far as I am concerned both parties did not do any follow-up correspondence(s). Before this event, I was starting to give Waste Management some respect. I am not quite sure.

Great price but near impossible to get a person to answer, reply to an email or call back. Also the container that was dropped off was so rusted that my facilities manager had to grab tools just to force open the door.

I switched to WM years ago after being treated very poorly by Tennis (both customer service and a pickup tech that liked to get out of his truck and dump/spread my garage across my driveway!). When WM heard my 'story', they lowered the rates to where I could afford to make the change, and have been taking great care of me ever since! Their trucks do not smell awful and dump rotten juice along the road like Tennis trucks do, and with kind, conscientious drivers, they always leave a clean pickup site. I am proud to say, several of my neighbors and community members are also making the switch!

Exceptional customer service and friendly representative who explained everything in detail. I thought the price for the size of the container was very affordable and really liked how easy it was to set up service. Excellent professional and courteous rep! Thank you Saint Paul for hiring the best people.

18.9% fee for waste water!!! Honestly disappointed, super overpriced demo. $139.36 a ton is insane!

WM has been providing us with good service for several years.

I love WM their drivers are courteous and friendly and their customer service is knowledgeable, friendly, and they quickly resolve concerns that I have. Good quality service, good value for my money, very responsive and very on time - regular schedule is apparent! They have been my hauler for 17 years!

Not worth the expense; they have picked up our garbage on time 4 times in the last 6 months. Delays can be up to a week, but you only get notices one day at a time so you have to leave your cans out the whole time. Often they pick up in the afternoon, so you can’t even pull them back up in the morning and out in the evening. They do offer yard waste containers, as long as you don’t actually care how punctual they are. That’s the only reason they got 2 stars.

My experience was good on the phone yesterday - the representative was helpful and I was able to pay (over 100 dollars) for a bulk pickup that I was promised would occur today. I arrive home and the couch and chair are still there! WM is a Huge business with thousands of people and not one of them could call me to let me know you’ll be late or won’t make it? I normally don’t waste my time writing negative reviews… but this may be the only way anyone will ever get my message. Between the WM phone numbers “virtual assistants” (which only asks questions and never actually finds anything and refuses to transfer to a human being) and the WM “live chat”(which I was using today until the representative “had to check on something and they will take about three to five minutes” then the chat conveniently closed (oh wow, right at 6:50pm when you clock out… thanks for taking a message for me) I’ve wasted even more of my time only to find out that I’m chasing nothing. Thanks for nothing! if you are reading this - please cancel my bulk pickup and refund my money. Gosh, I’m disappointed! Super disappointed. Huge bummer. I’m done for today. I hope nobody else has to deal with that garbage!

We recently started commercial service with WM. The set up process was easy and the dumpster delivery was fast. There was some initial confusion about when the first service date would be but their customer service team was incredibly quick to solve any issues I had and rescheduled a pick up same day!

Terrible customer service. Trash was picked up the day after MLK holiday. MLK Day is not considered a holiday. It will cost $65.00. No thank you. I've been a customer for over 15 years and wish we had the local trash service back instead of being forced to use WM

We have garbage collection through our city and have no choice in our hauler. My block was assigned to WM and they've been terrible overall. The yard waste pickup was constantly delayed, their website doesn't work for us, we are forced to navigate their terrible phone system, waiting on hold, not receiving call backs etc. Our invoices arrive with a "due upon receipt" pay date, and regardless of how quickly you pay it--even within 10 biz days--you get a nasty late notice, and half the time the website doesn't work when you try to pay online. I requested an extra pickup recently, which took multiple weeks and phone calls to schedule, and the number of bags was miscommunicated and the driver left one, I had to chase him down to get it picked up, and then argue with him about it. He was horrifically rude. Since it's a city contract they're guaranteed the business, so there's no incentive to do a good job. For such large, national company they can and should do much, much better.

I think waste management is the worst company in the history of the world. I live in St. Paul Minnesota, where I’m required by law to hire them. But if I had any choice, I would certainly never hire them.

They are horrible in every single aspect of their business. The actual trash service is horrible. Almost every week they leave the trash cans knocked over in the alley.

It’s almost impossible to reach anyone by phone, and their website is complete trash. It’s virtually impossible to schedule a large item pick up. And every single quarter they screw up the auto payment. From top to bottom they are one of the worst companies I’ve ever experienced in my entire life.

I definitely don’t recommend them if you have any choice at all

Waste management is completely trash! Not even kidding. They’ve delayed pick ups for months now while we’ve been continuing our payments without any kind of reimbursement or compensation, anything! it’s so inconvenient considering the garbage cans can get full especially when you have a household of 5 and two pets! When they delay the pick up they reschedule then they message and say there’s been a delay again!! I’m tired of it and we are definitely switching to a better alternative and I suggest you do the same!

My security camera caught one of the trash personnel going through my trash I did not put out at the end of my driveway. I emailed the ethics department who said the trash man was being nice and checking if I needed that trashcan emptied. I emailed back and said the trash was full of yard waste so if they had good intentions shouldn't they have taken it out but yet they didn't. Also the trash personnel was for normal trash not yard waste so there's no reason to be looking in my yard waste bin. The lady who I emailed then said "since I don't want them to be kind and helpful she'll tell him to stop". Digging through my trash is not being kind or helpful. All I want is for WM's workers to not dig in my trash if I didn't put it out at the end of my driveway for them.

Incompetent chat/chatbot (can't tell if it's human or not) that gives wrong Customer Service numbers. Call that number and get a rude person who refuses to set up services for you or find a solution for an extra pick up, which used to be easy with this company. Not anymore. I used to think highly of them but just blown away with the level of rudeness of their employees and how very unhelpful they are. No clue if or when I'll be able to get the extra pick up service that their website says I have.

Also, the last time they forgot to get our container, I was charged a fee for them to come back! Want to know what's better? THEY NEVER CAME! They gave me a date and time range that they would come out, for the fee assessed due to their accidentally missing our bin, and didn't come at all.

UPDATE: This is an awful company. Do not do business with them. They are always late, and today on the 3rd of July when my bins are completely full, they've rescheduled pickup for AFTER Independence Day. I've got a large gathering coming and no space in the trash can. I'm pissed. They're always a day or weekend late, and now this. I'm finally cancelling my WM service and going with Highland Sanitation.

Pickup is reliable, holiday communication could be better (specifying your exact date, not just the blanket statement that all pickups move one day forward, especially when weekends are involved). Their billing system is atrocious. Was assessed late fees two years in a row after paying the bill in full online before the payment due date. Took an hour on the phone each time to get them to reverse the charges. They’ve also steadily increased their rates and are 20-30% higher than the other carriers that service our area. Will be switching at the end of my current paid year and am not looking forward to having to fight them on the fee they charge to pick up their own cans at the end of service.

Unwilling to listen and do the right thing! I’ve been charged for years for “two trash bins” when I only have one! After talking to the representative the first time around, she claimed that although my invoice shows two, I’m only being billed for one trash bin, which seemed odd to me! She even confirmed with the company’s driver and sent a server out to my location to verify my claim. But now, fast forward, my bill has skyrocketed from a little over $100 to over $200. When I called to question this, the new representative gave me no leeway and said they can’t reverse the charges unless I agree to sign a new contract! 😡

I setup my services easily online once and have never had to touch it. They always come, and empty the bins, that’s all I want. There are only delays/schedule changes for holidays, but the drivers should have time with their families, so that is nice: whenever I suspect a holiday is coming up I just check my email to verify pickup is pushed back a day, or I forget and the bins sit at the curb an extra day, whatever. It’s a nice perk that the trucks are never rusty or dirty.
