Jason was great to work with. We were having difficulty finding material matching our current, and he went over and beyond to help us. He identified a leaking roof issue that nobody else could determine was the problem, and made sure that the things that had previously been done sloppily were done correct. His crew worked quickly to get the job done.
They subcontracted the painter - and we had multiple issues with the painter. The painting company was horrible. Jason ended up having to talk to the painter to try to rectify all the issues that they (the painters) screwed up.
This construction company, and Jason, exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend.

I was referred to 1st Choice by my realtor. I used 1st Choice to do an inspection on a roof for a 4 unit property I was under contract on in South STL. These guys were great. Great communication, on time, and even delivered the very detailed itemized estimate faster than anticipated. I had a great experience with them, although we did not move forward on the property due to other issues.

I dealt directly with Jason, and he is a 100% straight and honest guy..
We had an easy time communicating and coming to an agreement together.

We had a few roofing companies look at our home and the leak in our living room. Each one said we needed a whole new roof. Jason from 1st Choice was the only one that explained that we needed a simple repair. His team was on the roof the next day and replaced some shingles by the fireplace area. Cost less than $200 and it never leaked again. 1st Choice is the best !!

We had storm damage to both our roof and siding. Jason and the 1st Choice team are not "storm chasers" looking to make a quick buck. They are here to stay and will only recommend an insurance claim when it is truly warranted. They got our claim approved and did excellent work replacing our architectural shingles. They also installed our James Hardie siding to perfection with attention to every detail. Best of all...they clean up after themselves like no contractor I have ever seen. 1st Choice is truly the best choice as far as my wife and I are concerned.

Jason came out a few years ago and repaired our leaky roof and did a wonderful job. No leaks or problems! Thanks Jason!

Bryan, our project manager was available from the walkthrough until the final nail was set. He was even working with my insurance company sending pictures and corresondence to get everything covered. Anika called with scheduling updates, and their crews never missed an appointment date or time. Don't fall for big advertising companies as they just pass that cost on to their customer's. Thanks for everything you all did! A lifelong customer for sure.

Jason and his team were very helpful with my recent storm damage. My roof was wind damaged in a bad storm in July. I called Jason on the weekend and his guys came out right away to tarp my roof to prevent further damage. They worked well with my insurance company and got my roof replaced in a very timely manner. Very helpful and did a wonderful job. Would definitely recommend.

The roof for our back patio has had a couple leaky spots, so we called First Choice to see if they could help us figure out the issue and how to resolve it. Bryan came out, took a look at our roof, made a couple suggestions and did a couple small things. The immediate issues appear to have been resolved and we couldn’t be happier. Thanks to First Choice for coming out as quickly as they did and helping get things taken care of.

We recently had a leak in our house. Jason came out within two days (over a holiday weekend). He identified the leak and gave me the best and most inexpensive way to fix it while also educating me about other portions of the roof. Will definitely be a repeat customer if we need roof work!

Edit: The owner and his team came out to assess the job. I'm happy to report they were as appalled by the work done as I was. They assured me someone else would work on fixing things up. In just a few days, Brian came out to repair everything and went ABOVE AND BEYOND! Since I truly don't blame the owner for what had happened and the repairs and cleanup were done quickly and beautifully, I am taking back my 1 star rating and giving them 5 stars.

Original post: Great roofing fix years ago but sloppy siding now. Justin was very friendly but unreliable. We were told we'd have a heads up before siding would be dropped off and then work would be scheduled. Justin left a message around 8:00pm saying he'd be there with the siding and would start work at 9:00am the next day. That left us no time to prepare as we had to be at work (remove items away from the house, mow the lawn, etc.) He was NOT there at 9:00 - came hours later. This was the case for each day.

His work was also sloppy. He dripped caulking on our car, porch, driveway, smeared it on our doorbell camera, and left globs all over the siding. We understand that cleanup was not in the contract so we knew we'd had to clean the siding debris (cut pieces, Styrofoam, etc) that was left all over the property but he said he'd clean all that up, as well as he'd bring a magnet to retrieve the nails from the grass (I stepped on two). After the date we were told the nails would be cleaned up, we still found over 50 nails and screws strewn about. The caulking never was cleaned.

We called the office to see what could be done about this since Justin had said he'd take care of it. We were told they'd send someone out just to clean up nails this past Friday. We still found more this morning so I'm not sure anyone actually came out. They certainly didn't ring our doorbell to announce themselves.

1st choice was recommended by a family member who worked with them in the past and I'm happy I took the recommendation. We called on a Monday, Bryan came out on the same Wednesday, and we had a new roof installed 10 days later. No high pressure sales, no upsells, just honesty. It's hard to describe without sounding fake, but he just seemed trustworthy, and he was the first roofing sales person I could say that about.

After the roof was installed, Anika went to bat for us and got the insurance company to agree to send additional money for shingle depreciation, which we were no longer contractually entitled to receive. That was money in our pocket, that she didn't have to go after - no benefit to her.

What's not to love about The Home Depot? I didn't buy anything this trip, just looked at my options to replace my kitchen sink. They offer interest free financing, so I'll be back soon.

Don't bother with Home Depot! Had carpet installation scheduled a month out. The evening before they call to say they lost the carpet and have to reschedule. Save yourself some time and money and use a carpet store instead!

Worse customer service experience! Had them come out for a bid on windows. Their rep came out on Thursday, today is Wednesday and we still have not received the bed. Called this morning at 8:30, lady said they do not come in till 11am and that I could call back during business hours. I asked if I could leave a message and she said they usually do not check those! LOL! Home Depot you lost my business!

If it were possible, they would get a 10 star rating. Dan Bischoff is outstanding as are the guys who refinish the floors. Floors were over 50 years old and never refinished. THEY LOOK AMAZING NOW, plus the fact that Dan and his team went out of their way to be extremely helpful and extremely thoughtful and courteous to this elderly woman.
Their motto of treating customers like family is a true motto for this company.

We had a great experience with this family-owned carpet company - Denny, Matt, Daniel, and Peggy were all just wonderful! The installation was excellent (all baseboards remained perfect - no paint repair), pricing was very fair, and everyone we worked with was kind and informative. They were reliable, respectful of our schedule, and very careful with our home throughout the entire process. Highly recommend supporting this business! We refer them all the time - their years of experience are reflected in the end result.

chose this company because of the good reviews and being local, unfortunately that was a bad decision. Issues from start to finish. technically its still not finished because theres a buckled shingle they were suppose to fix and never did or the numbers we discussed over the garage door that were never installed. but I'm not surprised since they don't put the gutters where we talked about. plus stains on the driveway, removed a garage door seal, didn't tell me, then when I figured it out from the freezing garage, i was responsible for getting the 16' piece of material For an exterior company because they don't deal with garage door seals. not to mention the generic receipt for spending 38 grand. no break down on materials or labor and no tax. Just a bad experience all around.

The newly refinished area blends seamlessly with our existing flooring -- you would never know where the old ends and the new begins. Their craftsmanship is truly exceptional.
While the entire company has been wonderful to work with, I want to especially recognize Jesse and Ray, the two technicians who completed our project. These two went above and beyond from start to finish. They took the time to explain every step of the process, answered all of our questions with patience and clarity, and treated our home with genuine care. Their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail made the experience outstanding.

Everyone we came in contact with at luminous flooring was very professional and nice. I visited their showroom because of the good reviews on yelp. We got a competitive price and our new floors look great. We would definitely use this company in the future.

The owner and staff were incredibly helpful and professional. The owner walked us through options and explained the benefits and drawbacks of each type of option there is. The came and installed quickly.

There was only one minor mistake. A 2 or 3 baseboards got scratched. One of the installers came over the next day after he installed at another house and fixed it for us. It was simply amazing service and results.

This was all at a price on par with using Lowes or Home Depot.
