Super wonderful and helpful staff they’re just often out of stock on the plants I want. I think Reno is growing faster than they can keep up with!

Service was great in the rock yard. I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone so I just went there. It was quick and efficient to pick up a few yards of dirt. I'll be back.

Girls at counter lovely, Steve wasn't as service oriented. Kinda soured us on Moana so virginia. We will stick with other places that guarantee the plants for more than week.

Great selection of trees, shrubs, garden plants and decor for the yard. Can't rate customer service because we didn't talk to anyone while we walked around looking at all the trees.

Way too much stuff. I bought flowers, strawberry plants, and ladybugs. They have yard art and knick-knacks, as well as trees and shrubs. Friendly staff, and a counter cat. Nice place.

I had a picture of a tree on my phone that I was looking for to plant in my yard. Ben was spot on in identifying it and arranged to take us to where the trees were. Great customer service!

A very knowledgeable staff that will go the extra step to make sure you get the right plant material to make your yard shine! Definitely the plant experts in the greater Reno/Sparks/Carson Valley area!

First gentleman we approached didn't know what a mock orange was. He led us to Mike (tall guy with very white caps on his teeth). This guy could not have been more rude to us. He argued with me about the species, which I had researched for hours on the internet before going in, telling me that the information I was providing "didn't tell him anything." What an absolute JERK. He said HE would have to research it, even after I explained what we needed the plant for. I have no problem with someone being unfamiliar with what I was asking for, and even expected that -- what I didn't expect was the COMPLETE lack of kindness or respect. WE WILL ABSOLUTELY NEVER GO TO MOANA NURSERY AGAIN. -- From there we went straight to Stonehouse Gift and Garden, where Chris was more than friendly and happy to help us buy 14 mock orange shrubs, which happen to be his very favorite (he has one in his own yard) -- THANKS CHRIS AT STONEHOUSE!!!
    - Mike in response -- you need to work on your people skills. I've worked in customer service for over 30 years and you were disrespectful and rude. It also never helps to apologize by denying that you did anything wrong.

Purchased many trees from Moana. Everyone is nice and helpful. If I ever have an issue with a plant I can bring in a picture or a leaf and they always help me diagnose the problem.

Knowledgable staff. Great selection of plants, accessories, hardscape materials. Got a tree problem or plant selection question? Be sure and ask Mike, He is the best!

Linda is so incredibly knowledgeable. She spent almost an hour explaining different plants and planting instructions.

Their rock truck obliterated my car with gravel on the freeway. I got photos of their truck, took my car to their nursery to show them the damage. Gave them my information and a chance to make it right. Rather than do the right thing, their Manager (Mike G) argued with me about where their rock truck was that morning and told me how their insurance company won't cover the damage they caused. Well Moana Nursery, when you care about the community you live and work in, sometimes you do the right thing even if it means your insurance company won't pay for it. You lost a long-standing customer and you'll lose more because Reno is still a small town and you don't treat people this way. Sincerely, John

I’m very disappointed with Moana nursery in South Virginia especially. Sorry, but you should be the best place to get real rich soils, not that stuff you guys have been diluting with sand to make more profit. I'm talking about you Double Mix & Tripple mix soils.

Sigh. I wish the plant "experts" would tell me the same thing twice in a row. For example, went in to get a shrub recommendation for full sun, against stucco, south facing location. Plant Expert A gave recommendation. Loved the plant. Planted it. Plant fried and died. Brought it back within 60 days. Plant Expert B reamed us when we told him where we planted it. After berating us and stating it was our fault for planting it there (even though we described Expert A -- who still works there), we got 50% off.
They do have a good plant selection but take their advice with a grain of salt and be sure to get a name.

We have been getting our plants and trees from Moana nursery for 24 years. They are always helpful and give great advice on planting and caring for your plants. They also sell very healthy stock and have a 1 year guarantee on their larger plants.

I maintain a spreadsheet of plant survival rates in my garden. Plants from Moana have the highest survival rate among all the Reno nurseries I have bought plants from.
Gardening in Reno in not easy. Many of the plants I plant end up dying. The quality and adaptability of the plants from Moana are among the best.
