I reserve 5 stars for the outstanding and Born & Raised Electric have been outstanding. Working with Chris, through the entire Level 2 EV Charger project, was like working with a best friend. He was extremely patient with me and, much to my wife's surprise, was appreciative of my warped sense of humor. He never pressured or attempted to upsell me on anything. He and Cesar went above and beyond to ensure the best possible installation of the right product in my old house. He hounded the town until an inspection was scheduled and assisted in the rebates I will gain from PSE&G following the inspection. I had heard of EV Charger installation horror stories, which is why I went through Qmerit and, ultimately, connected with Born & Raised Electric. So glad I did.

Chris and his Born & Raised team were extremely thorough, knowledgeable, patient, professional, and took extra care when installing our new EV charger. Before we decided to go with B&R, Chris comprehensively explained the installation process, how it will work, what’s required and all the rebates available in NJ. Once we decided to use their company, they made the scheduling process easy, and took additional time to answer questions, clean all areas they worked (and then some) and ensured everything was in working order before departing. I highly recommend Chris and his B&R team for their affordable, professional and expert service.

Just terrific! I Just bought an electric car and I didn’t know who to use for an EV charger installed in the house. I went with Qmerit (After watching a Video from state of charge) And they commissioned Born and raised. I couldn’t be more pleased. Chris, the owner, Was very communicative and knowledgeable. Caesar, the Electrician, Was excellent and kept the house clean. There were no holes! I thought the price was quite reasonable and I couldn’t be happier.

Born & Raised did a wonderful job installing our EV charger. Everyone - Chris, Cesar, and Denise - were very helpful and easy to work with. They were quick to reply and set up appointments, handled all town permits, and did an excellent job with the installation. It was a smooth process from start to finish, and the price was very reasonable. They came highly recommended by neighbors who had worked with them, and they did not disappoint. I highly recommend them!

Had a great experience with B&R Electric. They installed our home EV charger along with the electric panel replacement.

We were quoted a good price based on my description. After the work was done, they found that a portion of the quote was not necessary and removed it from the final invoice.

They arrived right on time, finished the job and made sure everything is working.

Chris and his team were incredible! Great communication, transparent on permit process, supportive of all questions/sharing knowledge about the work they did, and delivered a great overall installation (very professional & clean) - in addition to just being nice people to talk with! We got 2 Emporia chargers installed with load balancing and their team got them in quickly, tested fully, and even found an issue in our main box that they fixed for us along the way. We could not be happier with their work and are excited to partner with them for future electrical needs!!

We recently had a solar battery from Franklin installed. Due to specifics unique to our home, it was a complicated installation for Chris - our primary electrician - to get Scotch Plains buildings and electrical approvals as the battery needed to be outside but the control unit was inside the basement.

Chris and his team did a great job, he was very knowledgable and I was routinely updated to timing, potential issues, etc. The price for this work was reasonable and competitive and they met all promised deadlines.

As a long time, professionally trained woodworker I appreciate craftsman from all different professions. Chris and his team will be our go-to electricians for any needed future work on our home.

I had an issue with a blown fuse panel, and they resolved it promptly. The repair was handled neatly, and everything’s been running smoothly since.

Another wiring not working issue showed up later and they caught it early before it affected other parts of the house

Something got stuck in one of my outlets, and it was causing a bit of stress. The technician came out, safely removed the obstruction, and tested the outlet to ensure everything was working correctly. I'm glad the issue was resolved quickly and without any further problems.

Scam alert. Beware of this place, I called the number found on Google to get an estimate and initially was told by Sabrina that it would cost $50 to perform an estimate. When I hesitated, a few seconds later, Sabrina noted that the estimate was free. I could not commit to a date as I needed to coordinate availability with the tenant living at my property. Five minutes later, they call me back asking to see if I can make an appointment which I explained I could not do until I coordinate with the tenant.

Less than an hour later, a very pushy call agent called me to say he wanted to lock in a date. I explained the same thing and stated I could not commit to a time as I didn’t even have a chance to speak with the tenant. He kept pushing on to the point where he kept talking over me. He upset me so much that I cancelled any involvement with this company right then and there.

The scammy part? Two hours later I get a call from the same number and this time they stated they wanted to schedule a service repair for my “side to side washer.” I stated to the caller that never requested this type of service and inquired how this came about - caller immediately hung up.

It’s clear that this business is using some type of call center in the Philippines and collecting your information to sell other services or share with your information in an unauthorized way. Also, notice that nearly all of the reviewers on this business have only about 1 review each - fake reviewers.

By the way, look at the address of this business. It is literally a bridge underpass. FAKE!

Avoid at all costs.

Our office lights were acting up and we hired a commercial electrician and they sorted the circuits efficiently without disrupting work thank you!!

I phoned this company for a wiring safety check, and the technician promptly came to my house to diagnose it. The technician was quite articulate and provided concise justifications for his opinions, so there was no chance of miscommunication. If I have any further electrical problems, I will most certainly employ this very fantastic customer service.

Their commitment to great service really stands out. The electrician and dispatcher were both so respectful and professional. They fixed my receptacle not working, and cleaned up everything afterward. Thanks for the excellent work, guys—it means a lot!
