After accepting the contract with Sands Outdoor Services I asked if the work could be completed over a long national holiday. After a few hic ups finding the correct stencils for the job, the crew came out early on a Thanksgiving morning and completed the job as requested. While this was a little inconvient on our part we did ask a great deal in completing the work during the long break. The striping of the lot was to the architechs specifications as well the crew pressured washed the areas prior to painting to insure that the surface was clean.

ASAP Sands came out to my house and removed grass in an area and then graveled it and put in flagstone. They were prompt, clean, professional, and friendly. They did a great job. I would highly recommend them

Our yard was transformed from an awful dusty mess into an oasis by Jim Sands and his competent and friendly crew. The brick work is stunning; the plants and trees that he selected for privacy and color are doing beautifully and get better with age. With Jim Sands you can count on professional quality workmanship, attention to detail and, most importantly, daily supervision throughout the project. Thank you Jim, after five years, we continue to enjoy our yard and it is still the best looking yard in our neighborhood.

Always accommodating for emergencies, always on time, always great customer service, always much less expensive than the competitors, and have always done an excellent job. Replaced/installed sprinkler valve system in the past and now just fixed a leak in the main water line - in no time at all!

I had Sands do 2 different parking lot striping jobs for ADA compliance within a couple of weeks of each other in the Albuquerque area. This is the first time that I've used them and they were great. I look forward to using them in the future. They were every thing a General Contractor looks for in a sub-contractor. In addition they were prompt, agreeable, and worked well with the other subs. Jim and the ASAP Sands team tackled a messy backyard redo involving complicated existing conditions: a blighted concrete fountain, a maze of irrigation lines, and extensive patio and walkways. They listened to the "Why" which was to create a more natural/native environment with less water usage. Their design was beautiful and unique, and the quality of the materials was impressive. Two things that stand out: 1) The price they proposed was the final price, 2) The crew cleaned the yard and organized their equipment off to the side at the end of EACH DAY so it was safe throughout construction. Highly recommend!

Jim Sands and his crew have been my landscaping angels over the past couple years. They always take exceptional care of my yard and have done seasonal clean up when I have needed it.

They trimmed my trees and rose bushes better than I have ever done. In fact my plants look so much healthier since I have been using them.

As my life has gotten busier than I’d like they have taken the burden of hard landscaping off my shoulders!

Sands Outdoor Services did an outstanding job converting our rock/gravel backyard into a usable backyard with grass. They handled the entire project including design, removal of gravel, sprinkler system, sod and plants. Their crew was friendly and professional and cleaned everything up after the project was complete. I would recommend Sands Outdoor Services to anybody and couldn't be happier with the finished project. They truly transformed our backyard!

Luke and Matt make a good team! Very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, affordable. They came out the very next day where other sprinkler companies told us to wait for 6 weeks! I'm very impressed with their efficiency and service! I highly recommend them!

Easily the most professional and competent company I have ever used for sprinkler issues. I have had a LOT of sprinkler issues over the years - 5 houses in 23 years - these guys are without a doubt the best I’ve ever seen. Their prices are very fair, their expertise is unmatched, and they were just nice people, to boot.

We moved to Albuquerque earlier this year. Our new house had a sprinkler system that leaked and didn't work properly. We called a few places and were given the run around; finally called Sands Outdoor Services and they fixed all the problems quickly & reasonably and taught how to use the sprinkler system. Plus, they winterized at no cost. The entire experience has been outstanding. They're very responsive and professional. We will definitely hire them again.

"ASAP" is right! I called Sands Landscaping mid-afternoon, Luke came by to evaluate my yard, and he had two guys come out for leaf removal within a couple of hours. And what an amazing job they did! I will definitely be using them from now on!

I have used Sands Outdoor over the years. They have always been prompt with there appointments and have been very helpful with my irrigation repair issues and getting me estimates for my yard work.

My husband was looking for a landscaping company to fix some of our landscaping valves and found Sands Outdoor Services. He contacted them and spoke Luke. Luke came out and was able to assess the problems with our system quickly and efficiently. He was very knowledgeable and managed to fix our problems in a short period of time and at a reasonable cost. We are so glad we found this company! They are family owned and operated. It's nice to have a company that you can count on when you need them. We would highly recommend them for any landscape needs.

We previously had a handyman come out and work on our sprinklers and the performance of the watering system was almost nonexistent; requiring hand watering. Luke and his crew came out and turned it into water heads going in various directions, providing sufficient water to all the plants. Can’t express how PLEASED we are with the job they did!! In addition Luke does what he says he is going to do, he is honest, reliable, and his prices are VERY REASONABLE!! Like I told him this morning, I would not hesitate to call him in the future!! I will also recommend him to friends and family. Thanks Luke!!

They were extremely helpful in understanding our goals for our yard and our budget to find us perfect solution! We had hard packed dirt and wanted a small lawn for our kids- they rototilled in compost, trenches in sprinklers, and installed a sprinkler box with 3 separate zones to include our new drip system in 1 day! 100% would recommend then for any outdoor landscaping!

I’m single and busy all the time. Sands outdoor services came and put a drip system in my front yard supplying all my new cherry trees and a couple plants I got from Lowe’s. I did not expect the plants to last more than a few weeks Especially with my poor watering habits. Here it is November and everything is still green. They did wonderful all summer and I didn’t have to worry a bit. Absolutely worth it!

Amazing and satisfying experience! I recently moved to ABQ and needed quite a bit of work done in my backyard. Red Shovel was recommended highly so I contacted for a design and quote. Highly responsive - I worked with Landon on a design and in two weeks I had a comprehensive plan for my backyard space. We did a couple tweaks, Landon was very helpful with alternate choices and recommendations. The crew that came to do the work was excellent! José, Miguel & Larson were punctual, hardworking, problem solvers, and knowledgeable. They were communicative about all the steps and gave me needed insight into the irrigation systems. The end result is so beautiful and satisfying! I am very happy and looking forward to enjoying a lovely outdoor space! I will use Red Shovel again for other plantings and yard cleanups - just a great crew!!
Update: almost 3 weeks later - beautiful Kentucky Blue grass coming in from seed, Lorenzo super helpful to come out and do some irrigation tweaks. I could not be happier!!
