I have used Doug and several different projects over the years at two separate buildings that I have managed and found their work to be second to none, professional staff, amazing service and always competitively priced.

Doug and his team are incredibly responsive, skilled and on the ball. They are unlike any other contractor that I've worked with. I highly recommend them!

Called these guys on a Sunday afternoon with two jobs in mind, one small, one large. Guy picks up the phone, "Hello?" No business name, sounds surly, like I woke him up from a nap. Ask him if this is the commercial building place, he says yes. Explain the small project, he says they can't do it. Before I get to the big project, I ask him if it's a bad time, he says well, it's a Sunday, and a few other things implying that I'm knocking at his door to sell him Amway. DEAR SMALL BUSINESS OWNER: DON'T POST A PHONE NUMBER ON GOOGLE THAT YOU DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO USE TO CONTACT YOU. DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE FOR YOUR BUSINESS WITHOUT USING YOUR BUSINESS NAME. DON'T ACT LIKE PEOPLE WHO ARE SEEKING YOU OUT TO GIVE YOU MONEY ARE INTERRUPTING YOUR NAPPY TIME. If you don't want to answer the phone to do business, then don't answer the phone — easy peasy! Happy to take my property's projects to one of the many other contractors in Brooklyn who respond to potential clients as if they're actually running a business.

This is a very Professional, Courteous Company. They have worked on several of my project from roofing, tuck-pointing, and creating new structural openings. The work has always been outstanding.

The WORST thing that could have happened!!!! My roof was leaking and the company inspector came over to figure out how to fix it. ...It took them two weeks (and more rainy/leaky days to get the workers over to fix it. It was supposed to take TWO FULL DAYS OF WORK to fix the leak. After just THREE HOURS (including the 30+ minutes the workers went out for coffee) the work was supposedly finished. They couldn't lift the wood deck that was included in the scope of work, so they choose only to apply some waterproofing paste type material on a different portion of the deck. A week later, there was a storm and the water came pouring in!!!

The guy responsible for all the work that was done updating the entire inside of my townhouse came over. He asked me how the leaking was tested....I told him there were no tests. Using the hoses, Jon did water testing and found exactly where the leak was coming from....IT WAS NOT WHERE THE WORKERS APPLIED THE PASTE!!!!!

The owner of CBR and I went back and forth, emailing for hours. THE GUY JUST KEPT DENYING THE FACT THAT THE JOB WAS NOT DONE!

CBR was paid an 'up front' amount of thousands of dollars that they refuse to return!!! NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS!!

I am a NYC architect with many years experience with exterior repairs and roofing. Our firm has worked with Commercial Building and Restoration on multiple projects over the years, including facade restoration, roofing, retaining walls, ironwork and more. Commercial is extremely skilled, professional, considerate of clients' and residents' needs, cooperative and responsive. We have recommended Commercial to our most valued clients without hesitation and the feedback has always echoed what I am writing here. A terrific outfit.

I called CBR about leaks coming into my windows from the terrace above me and he personally came by to do a thorough evaluation along with explaining the causes of the leak and potential remedies very clearly. Pricing was fair and their track record is impeccable. Highly recommend for anyone experiencing leaks

I wish everyone was as responsible, responsive, and efficient as Doug and his team over at CBR. As a contractor, I have the pleasure of working with a lot of companies. Since crossing paths with CBR there is no one else I would rather work with on a project. These guys show up when they say they're going to and deliver a product that exceeds expectations every time. Thanks CBR for being one of the best in the business!

As an architect in New York, finding great contractors is as essential as it is difficult. I have been lucky to work with CBR and have been nothing less than completely happy with both the experience and the result. Their communication and professionalism serve as a hallmark for what the business should be all about.

I am a property manager with a large Brooklyn based managing agent and have have extensive contact and experiences with CBR over the past 8 years. I have found their work to be outstanding and a cut above the other waterproofing and other general contractors that I have worked with in connection with the management of Brooklyn based cooperatives, condominiums and rental property. There is consistently demonstrated a real attention to detail, to closely following a scope of work and specifications and most critically, to addressing the leak, water penetration or other building problem with professionalism and finality.

CBR earlier this year completed a partial roof replacement, substantial parapet water proofing and the replacement of lintels and windowsills at a managed property of mine and i recently viewed it with the coop's Board to demonstrate to the Board the work. The Board comprised of mostly laypersons and non real estate professionals were impressed by the quality of the work.

I am a board member of an owner-managed cooperative in Park Slope. Earlier this year, the board retained Commercial Building & Restoration, Inc. (CBR) for extensive repairs, restoration, and waterproofing to the roof, brick facade, and stucco of two buildings comprising the cooperative. Doug Gornick and his crew exceeded the board's expectations in every respect. Their work was impeccable, the pricing was fair, and the high level of professionalism, reliability, and responsiveness was refreshing in an industry where those skills are often in short supply. Doug and his crew excel, in particular, on the communication front. They documented their progress with daily explanatory emails including pictures, and they were prompt in addressing questions and concerns from board members. They were also always punctual, mindful of the project schedule, considerate of building residents during the COVID-19 crisis, and meticulous in maintaining a clean working environment. The board was very pleased with both the process and the results of this project. I would readily hire CBR for other projects, and I would highly recommend them to other building owners and managers.

I have done work with CBR on multiple projects through out my 10 year relationship with them as a property manager. All work is done A-Z, and in fine detail. I am always kept in the loop, the permits are pulled on time, staff is courteous and polite when they work in residential properties and I have never had an issue or complaint about them. We have done multiple LL11 jobs and other water and brick infiltration jobs.

We engaged CBR to do exterior repairs on a property in Brooklyn. All phases of the project were handled professionally and all time deadlines were met. When the work was complete, the site was completely cleaned up. All of the personnel we dealt with were helpful, phone calls and emails were responded to promptly. I would use CBR again and be happy to refer them to anyone.

As a Building Manager, I know how difficult it can be to find reliable and competent tradesmen to work with. Doug and his crew at CBR are always my go-to vendor. Im impressed by their responsiveness, attention to detail and periodic updates with pictures throughout the course of any job.

The work done by this company to help resolve significant and longstanding water issues was nothing short of remarkable. I am relieved to find a company with integrity. They supported and educated me throughout the process, and they stayed with us until our issues were resolved. I highly recommend CBR!
