What a selection! For a neighborhood garden center, they have alot! The sales people there are very nice and helpful. They helped me select the shrubs and perennials. They have specials there too! And plenty of parking if you go early.

They had a lot of great plants and beautiful too. The staff was very nice and friendly. We went in for a bonsai tree and had to settle for one we didn't love but is still good. Overall would recommend if in the area and need plants or flowers.

Decent plant selection in the greenhouse, some plants are overpriced, some are great deals. Like others have mentioned, some of the employees are just rude, just bought close to $100 in flowering potted plants for the cashier to decapitate the flowers and put them in plastic bags instead of a cardboard tray. For real? Not sure why you can’t look up a rewards card by phone # either, bizarre.

I went to the garden section and talked to the gardener in the back. We had the following conversation.
Me: *smiling* Hey, do you have any plants that are easy to take care of and smell nice?
Gardener: *stern and fast response* I don’t have anything that’s is easy to take care of. Everything here requires care.
Me: *duh all plants require a certain degree of care* I can take care of the plant, do you have anything that smells nice?
Gardener: We don’t have what you’re looking for here, we don’t carry anything fragrant. *walks away*
Mind you we were surrounded by all types of flowers that smelled quite nice.
I definitely believe he didn’t want me in his store because of my race/appearance (I’ve dealt with this before, I’m of Indian descent and I wear a turban).
I was on the phone with a friend who overheard the entire conversation and he also agreed that it sounded like the guy just genuinely did not want me in his store.
I still bought a couple plants since I traveled from so far away, but I kind of regret giving them my business. I recommend you take your business somewhere else if you care about this type of thing.
TLDR: Felt racist vibes from Gardner, if you care about such things, take your business elsewhere. -
Wonderful. I went with my job as a trip. I work with people with disabilities and the staff was so welcoming. Lynn had benches set up near the pumpkins so when my individuals were fatigued, they had somewhere to sit. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable, pricing was competitive, stock was vast, experience was perfect! Will return!

Went late for a tree not many to choose from. My fault. Pick one of last remaining ones. Didn’t ask the price My fault. Got to the cashier 92$$. Very surprised!! They could’ve done better. Merry Christmas.

Ask for Charles. He has great gardener's stories.

Terrible experience at Garden World in Bayside. Really disappointed. I have been a loyal shopper at this nursery for close to 40 years. I purchased a hanging plant for $35.00 two weeks ago that simply did not thrive. It continued to wither and die despite caring for it properly. Garden World refused to exchange or credit me and claimed there are no guarantees nor exchange policies for this. Are you kidding me??? For $35.00 you are being penny wise and pound foolish. You just lost a lifelong customer. This exemplifies poor customer service.

Profiling, follow you around store, then provide “extra assistance” at the cashier as they dig through your cart to verbally tell the cashier what you are buying, item by item. Pure prejudice at its best here. DISGUSTED! I will have pictures and videos of the interaction up soon! Maybe also names to go with those faces. I usually have a better experience at the one in Franklin Sq. This one in Fresh Meadows will no longer get my business! Now they want to respond saying they don’t do that. Every time I’ve gone with my grandmother, no such issue. But this day I go with my friend that has dreadlocks and we are treated like this. Never had this problem, dealt with these “procedures” in the Franklin Sq location. This is sad, it’s not the company on a whole but 1-2 select workers.

Absolutely fabulous outdoor plants and flowers, a huge selection with many outdoor and indoor pots, collectables and decor with great prices.. They have pool supplies such as chlorine, salt. Gas tanks for BBQ's and much more.. Gorgeous Christmas decor and other seasonal items as well.. The Four Seasons Florist located inside Garden World has gorgeous flowers for arrangements for any occasion with home delivery and so are the flowers done for any event you can think of (one of a kind looks that leave you speechless as well as affordable prices), home decor, collectors items.. A valuable staple in community..

Good variety of plants and lots to choose from. Not to many hanging plants and the ones they did have where small and not to healthy looking. Customer service was bad no one greeted us at the store or asked if we needed help, didn't offer any advice or suggestions and the prices are way to high! $4.00 for a plastic spray bottle that you can buy at home Depot for one dollar. I've been to better places, wouldn't really recommend this place.

One year later update: All the plants I got from here are doing amazingly well!! I had bought a hydrangea and it almost doubled in size this year, same with a hydrangea and lavender I bought from here. The quality is amazing and 100% worth the price.
Huge variety and I had a good experience.
People who expect the same customer services and prices as pre-covid have no grasp on how hard it’s been to find staff as well as the cost of supplies/backorders.
Comparing prices to Home Depot who has a huge bulk buying power and had the means to buy their own cargo ships during covid isn’t fair. -
This is the worst store with a very nasty manager named ‘Lexi’ who has absolutely no customer service skills. How she got to be a manager of this store is mind boggling. As a mystery shopper I will surely note this and avoid the store at all costs fair warning. She doesn’t even answer a customers question regarding purchasing a broken artificial Christmas tree and rudely just walks away with the nastiest attitude.

Garden World has everything you need for gardening. I love shopping here. I just bought 3 planters there. They have a big selection....soil, tools, plants, trees, etc.

Great place, been there dozens of times and i have always had great experiences! The staff is helpful and kind… I really enjoy just walking around and being surrounded by all the plants, great variety.
Dont Waste your money and go to a place like Home Depot they are a giant corporation! Support a small business like Garden World for all your outdoor and indoor gardening needs! It really is a special place:)) -
Customer service could be better and plant variety is decent. But to specify on that, the older folks seem grumpy, the younger girls and maintenance crew are clueless. Some plants are mislabeled and many are overpriced. You can find the same variety of healthier plants at Home Depot and Asian nursery’s in Flushing 10-15% cheaper than what they sell here. They don’t provide military discount neither which was a bummer but the deal breaker wasn’t that. I’d highly recommend customer service training and some education on botany for ALL employees.

I just want to give a special thank you to the owner for helping me personally pick out flowers for my friend whom passed. He was very courteous and took the time to help me. Also to Ann Marie for doing a wonderful job wrapping my blue and white roses. Excellent place to buy roses and anything garden related. 👍🏼💐☺️

Been there for the first time and my goodness, the short haired woman running the register was unpleasant. I greeted her and she just looked at me without responding. She even got annoyed that she had to flip the product over to scan the barcode. I liked the variety of plants offered outdoors and in the green house, and i liked how they had all sorts of garden related products for sale. Some items were reasonably priced for a local business and were whimsical. Had that staff member been more professional, my experience wouldn't have ended on such a negative note

Not accommodating! After spending $$$ at Garden World, The cashier denied my 3yr old toddler access to the restroom. I can tell she was following orders from management.
-
My experience was phenomenal! From the minute I walked in...Alexis or Alexa she was so nice, friendly, patient and very informative about every plant I pointed to! Really took her time to help me which felt great. Thank you so much for all your help! I would definitely recommend 💯 %

Garden World has been in my area since I was born and it's an absolute delight to visit. This store brings back so many memories for me and I almost wish it was a chain around the world just because of how quaint it is inside. The store smells nice, there's a little greenhouse and garden area in the back that sells all kinds of cacti and bigger sized plants, and it's also a great store to go to for the holidays as they sell decorations and Christmas trees. They even have a koi fish garden outside, and that's been there for years as well. The staff here are so friendly and I even hope to get a job here in the future. I love Garden World, if you're looking for a plant or garden decor store in the area? Come here. You definitely won't regret it.
I have an ivy plant in my room from here that I've had for almost a few years now. It's still holding up great and growing fairly well.
