Very nice place for selecting trees and other plants. Staff is very helpful. I have been recommending it to all my acquaintances.

If you need a Japanese Maple, this is THE place! I've never seen so many variants and sizes available anywhere else near Rochester. This is also the only place I remember finding sand cherry trees.

Purchased a handful of flowers and small shrubs which are all doing well, and will be returning for the amazing Redbud we bought for September! We will definitely be back before then for more help and plants regardless.

Oriental Gardens was known to me to be a place with “unusual” things. I hadn’t visited in several years but there have been some noticeable changes. The inventory of plants and shrubs is so well organized now. Upon entering, one is greeted with a display of some extraordinary and beautiful specimens of evergreens and shrubs that I’ve not seen at most other nurseries. I’ve been in the process this spring and summer of completely redoing my yard’s landscaping so I’ve been to most nurseries in and around Monroe County. I highly recommend you visit Oriental Gardens.

The guys were very helpful in suggesting different trees that I could use to do bonsai. Much better quality and selection of plant products then some of the other local larger well-known garden stores had. Willing to work with me on the price for me to buy multiple products. Definitely will be back again. Ended up selecting a couple Japanese white pine trees for my bonsai projects.

My most recent visit was very disappointing to say the least. I’ve been searching for a specific plant, Rhododendron Ken Janeck. I was excited to see online there were five in stock for $39.95 (5 gallon). I wanted to purchase all five, but hesitated due to our recent unpredictable weather.. I wanted to examine them in person. Good on me because the plants were not in good shape. I saw an employee named Em and asked her for assistance. I asked her why the plants looked so terrible? Em explained that with recent fluctuations in temperature, it got very cold, and many plants suffered. I then asked her to help me choose two with the least damage, that seemed promising with new growth. After carrying them to the front, as Em removed the tags to check me out, the new owner Rob stopped us. He asked if they were priced. I was confused and showed him their website listing for $39.95. He said no, that is not the price and proceeded to change the price online to $59.95.. $20 difference. I was so dumbfounded, but thought about how I really wanted these plants and how Em was so kind to carry them for me.. and paid. I asked Em if I should’ve paid for them online before coming and she said no since the nursery was undergoing change. I left feeling stupid, but more so, furious.

In hindsight, I should’ve left. These things should’ve be sorted out prior to opening to the public and price listed should’ve been honored. But what do I know.. Silly me bought two damaged plants that should’ve been discounted.. but instead got uncharged. All this to say, no, I do not recommend this nursery and will no longer support.

Joe was prompt to respond to inquiry for service, and since contracting with him he remains easy to contact. I like how down to earth and easy it is to work with Joe. We got a fair price for his work and were impressed by his speed of service. Regarding his snow removal he had our driveway clear before the city got to our street.

Joe did an amazing job on our lawn! He was very friendly, easy to get a hold of, and extremely fairly priced. We couldn’t be happier with his services!

Our lawn was a disaster, grass was almost dead. So we hired Joe and he said give me a year or two, I’ll get it back in shape and now the lawn is beautiful! Thick lush no weeds he did a great job! He also rototilled and reseeded a huge area that used to have pine trees, and you can’t even tell the trees were ever there.

Joe's work speaks for itself! My lawn looks 1,000 times better than it did before hiring him.

We built our house in 2018 and when we hyrdo seeded our lawn (not done by Joe), it poured the next day washing most of the seed away. We hyrdo seeded again and the same thing happened. For the past 4 years I've been battling our lawn trying to get it to look as good as our neighbors that hire True Green and I could never get my lawn to look anywhere close to as good as our neighbors. Joe was doing some work across the street so I stopped to talk to him. He came over and seeded with his aerator machine thing and then we got on a regular lawn maintenance schedule and I couldn't be happier with the results! My lawn completely transformed for the better in about 2 weeks!

There are times that I’ve second guessed doing things around the house and whether or not it was worth the cost, hiring Joe was hands down the best home ownership/home improvement decision I’ve ever made. I haven’t regretted it once. If you're having issues growing grass (or growing actual grass instead of crab grass/weeds/etc.) call Joe, you won't regret it either!

I left a message for Joe on his website and he contacted within 24 hours. He set up a time to meet to discuss my lawn needs and then showed up a little early. His knowledge and expertise regarding my questions and goals were very impressive. I had no doubt about his plan to reinvent/save my lawn. He was a master on his aerating tractor and I will look forward to his upcoming treatments and seeding. Highly recommend.
