AKO Builders were recommended to me by a neighbor. I needed my old pool deck replaced with a trex deck. I was amazed how fast the deck was completed and how beautiful it turned out. I highly recommend AKO!!!

AKO builders are the best contractor company you could possibly find for your project. I will return with photos for more detailed review but today they project they were working on was completed and I was so excited I could not help myself and had to write a quick review. Highly recommend, workers were courteous and fast, quality work, good communication, great price would definitely use again ceiling fell from rain fixed and I am very happy with work I had 2 beautiful decks done new pvc fence done during COVID Arc had hard time getting material He did it !!!! We had no regrets hiring AKO Builders to build us a 12x16 high deck. We met with many contractors, but Ark's personality stood out, as he was very professional, patient, and respectful. He provided us a very reasonable quote and was honest about when he can start the work, since he's very busy during the summer. When he came to start the work, we were blown away at how fast and efficiently he and his team were able to finish the job. It took 4 days in total to complete and they cleaned up very nicely. His workers are very talented and gave lots of attention to detail. Ark was very responsive to phone calls and in-person meetings to review plans in detail. After our deck was built, we received many compliments from neighbors that asked for Ark's info. I would 100% recommend AKO Builders without hesitation and would certainly work with them again in the future.

My husband and I searched over a year for a contractor to replace our wooden deck and 2 stairways with a composite type material. It wasn't until we were put in contact with AKO Builders that we finally found a contractor who really cared what we wanted and would accommodate our wishes at an affordable price. Our first meeting with Ark (owner) was most pleasant; he listened to our requirements and offered suggestions. We were very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism, so we asked him to draw up plans and return to discuss the details. When presented with his plans, we were quite pleased. AKO Builders was more than accommodating, and we signed a contract.

Once the project was begun, Ark and his employee Matt were diligent in their efforts to complete the job in a timely manner. All our questions and minor changes were addressed immediately. Their craftsmanship is impeccable; these are hard-working artisans who strive for perfection.

We've had a substantial amount of work done on our home in the past 25 years and were truly impressed with Ark and AKO Builders. We highly recommend them and look forward to working with them on future projects.

I had AKO Builders replace the deck of my house. The owner, Ark, was very friendly and attentive and monitored the progress of the work throughout the job. He suggested the decking that I used which matches very well with the existing color scheme. He had many other good suggestions. He was able to navigate the inevitable unexpected problems that are found in the process of many jobs like this. The deck was built by Matas who works for AKO He is a gem. Very attentive to detail, intelligent, polite and neat. His work is flawless.
I am in the process of having the company do more work on my house because I was very impressed with the company.
I did not perceive any negatives about the work done.

I had a new front door and storm door installed on my home by AKO Builders. Ark and his crew did a very professional job. The door was installed and is solid, and well insulated around the framing. The workers were very polite and cleaned up very well after they were finished. The craftsmanship of the installation as well as the customer service is excellent, and I highly recommend.

My husband and I needed a side porch replaced on our home. We were very impressed with the work done on our neighbors house and they recommended AKO Builders.

I can not begin to tell you how pleased I am with the quality of workmanship Ark and his crew (Mattas) did on the construction of my new deck. They carefully took apart and removed my old deck. Built the new framework level and square. Then took great care installing the new Trex deck boards. The finishered deck just looks amazing. Old time quality workmanship, very hard to find nowadays. Great company to deal with.

Ark and his team completed the renovation of my kitchen in Staten Island recently and we are completely satisfied, we love it! Hired Ark based upon his great reviews and he lived up to his great reputation. From the beginning until the end Ark was present at my home everyday to guide his men who were performing the renovation. Ark answers all your questions, does excellent work and he ensures you are satisfied. Don’t hesitate to hire Ark and his team. I had always put off my renovations because I was afraid to pick the wrong contractor. We have all heard horror stories. Not the case here. Ark started the project right on time, managed the plumbers and electricians….superb! To top it off Ark is very personable and now I have a contractor I consider to be my friend!

I don't even know where to begin! I hired Ark for a major porch/deck rebuild/reimagine and wow did he and his team deliver. I initially called him based on the amazing google reviews and even asked him if they were real--he assured me every single one was from a satisfied customer. Hiring a contractor for a major project is intimidating to say the least, but after meeting Ark and going over my vision of what I wanted, I felt completely at ease and confident that I hired the right company. His employee Matt is amazing, he was the major deck builder and worked tirelessly every single day for two weeks--everything is PERFECT, it is strong, safe, beautiful and even, I can't say enough about what a lovely and talented young man he is. Then the finishing work--framing out and installing doors, and custom screening for part of my deck, wow. I cannot tell you how beautiful it is, we are beyond thrilled. It's like I added an entire room to my house, and it looks like it belongs there. Fair prices, honest, comes when they say they will, pleasant, easy communication--by far the best experience we have ever had with a contractor. And, they protected my bushes and flowers, not one broken stem!! The photos don't do this project justice, but take a peek!

Mattas was the lead carpenter on our job and his carpentry skills are exceptional. He is meticulous, focused, and takes pride in his work. His partner, Arsen, was professional, conscientious, and hard working.
They demolished and removed our old wood deck impressively neatly and swiftly. They worked through several days of extreme heat and beating sun and never slowed down. They were punctual, worked long days, cleaned up the jobsite before going home each evening, and completed the job sooner than we ever expected.

This was the most pleasant experience that we have ever had with a contractor doing work on our home, and the deck came out even more beautiful than we could have hoped for.

If you’re in need of a contractor who is insured, knowledgeable, a professional with workers who are craftsmen, look no further, AKO Builders and Home Improvement is EXACTLY who you want. My kitchen was 43 years old and needed everything replaced. Walls, ceiling, floor, electrical, plumbing, cabinets were all demolished and replaced to our specifications. His workers were not only craftsmen, but cleaned up after themselves daily, well beyond our expectations. The owner, Arkady, (ARK) was very responsive, solved any problems that occurred, and when replacing 43 year old construction you know you’re going to have problems. He even solved some issues that occurred with the kitchen Cabinet Company and there were no extra charges. His pricing was very reasonable and with the increase in material prices due to the supply chain restraints, he honored his original quotes. I could not be more happy and I’m honored to recommend him to anyone who needs a professional contractor.

OUTDOOR DECK:
He also replaced my second story outdoor deck. Again my deck was over 40 years old and in desperate need of repair. Ark advised us to put the stairs in a different place than the original design and it is so much better. My yard looks bigger with much more usable space. The deck itself came out great and we are more than pleased. Hopefully the pictures will do him justice. I would not hesitate to use him again and I readily give him the highest recommendation possible.

AKO Builders did a great job on my recent kitchen renovation. Ark, the owner is easy to work with and his team is professional and does excellent work. The work behind the walls is as nicely done as the walls themselves and things in front of them.

Ark the owner is an excellent general contractor and he hires professional workers who take pride in their work. Ark is reliable and easy to work with and checked in and worked on the project every day. Everyone who works for him was respectful of my home, friendly, and did quality work - often beyond what they had to do. The subcontractors all did excellent work on the electrical and plumbing parts of the job as well. The job was completed in a very reasonable amount of time and for the agreed upon price.

I am very happy with the finished product and would definitely recommend AKO Buildiers for your next renovation project. Just look at the before and after for a dramatic transformation. Thanks Ark!

AKO did a bathroom reno in a 90 yr old coop building. They removed a bathtub and installed a tile shower floor and glass enclosure and moved shower plumbing from one wall to another. They were truly professional! They knew what permits were needed and worked smoothly with the coop board, they were responsive and meticulous. I am so happy with my bathroom, which was cramped and narrow, and now feels expansive, (still narrow) Prices comparable to others, but the work is beautiful.

Ark is trustworthy, honest, conscientious, respectful, polite; not to mention extremely knowledgeable and professional. Also, he is so personable and easy to talk to that you feel like you've known him for years.
We first met Ark of AKO Builders years ago when he gave us options/estimates for a deck around our above ground pool (a project we never had done and no longer need). His honesty and the time he took with us stayed with us which is why we called him last year to build a fence, during which the quality of his work was evident. He was able to match it to a neighboring one and, as requested, re-use parts of our original fence complete with a gate so it extended naturally to enclose our yard.
Recently we contacted Ark for removing and re-building our lake-front deck. As usual, he provided thoughtful design suggestions and helped us choose materials and colors that look fantastic and integrate beautifully with our backyard. His crew was hardworking, respectful and on-site every day often till after dusk. Ark personally checked in during the job to make sure everything was on track and we were happy with each phase and to answer any questions we may have had. We couldn't be any happier with the way our new deck looks - it is beautiful!!
