Writing a follow up review for this company as it is my second time using them! James was extremely responsive and able to get my landscaping project done quickly at an affordable price. I will be a return customer !

I wanted to give a locally owned business (not a big nationwide chain) the chance to make my lawn (new construction, Bermuda) look good and went with Apex Lawn Company. I was impressed and excited to work with them after meeting the owner, who is very knowledgeable. However, they came twice, then didn’t show up for over 2 months, then showed up and fertilized 1/5 of my yard, ran out of fertilizer, didn’t come back for weeks to finish, then never came back at all. After at least 2 more months of not showing up, (or contacting me) I got a text saying they were not going to honor my contract anymore and would no longer be coming. They would never (even after asking repeatedly) tell me when they were coming, but rather they would just show up (the 3 times they came) and do whatever it is they did. I just got my final bill for who knows what, and that is the end. Nice, knowledgable kid, but certainly needs to better learn how to run a business, communicate, and understand how customer service works.

This is my second review on a different location since we have used his services in two homes and two offices at different locations. James is one of the hardest working young kid I have seen recently. Will work until midnight as long as the job is not done, does not matter it is is hot or cold, he has eaten or not. Yes, he is young and sometimes not as responsive, but he always makes up for his shortcomings. Above all, he is extremely honest and ethical. He only employs UC citizens unlike many other companies employing illegal immigrants. And, he is very knowledgeable not only about the plants, grasses, weeds, trees, hedging, herbicides but also about irrigation systems and fences, He has been doing our residential and commercial properties at 4 locations since 2019 and we are extremely happy with him and his professional team. Would support him and other young people and see them earn their way to college.

Over a month ago we had Apex Lawn Service come out and give us an estimate for our lawn. We signed up for monthly service and paid them 2 months in advance. One month goes by and they never showed up to mow our lawn our maintain our edging. We called them multiple times see what happened. We finally got a call back and apparently their office manager quit. Not sure what that has to do with our lawn but regardless our lawn was not serviced. At this point, we just wanted our money back for 2 months of lawn service we paid already. They said they would do that right away but as of today we are still waiting. We tried to call them back and have left numerous voice messages and text messages without a response. We saw the workers at a neighbors house and asked them to please pass the message along we would like to be contacted. We have zero faith in this lawn service and definitely do not recommend them. It's not worth it. If Apex Lawn Company is reading this you can figure out who this is by our username and would appreciate a full refund immediately.

I cannot speak highly enough of Apex Lawn Company. From start to finish, everything was perfect. A quote was provided quickly after I reached out and it was very reasonable compared to other local options. Scheduling was also a breeze. On the day of the service the team displayed the utmost professionalism and worked diligently to finish the job. The result was better than I expected and I will absolutely be calling them for my next landscaping project! 5 stars all around!

James is not responsive in fact after attempting to install our irrigation system and failing, he ghosted us. He stated he would come back with 1 other item and never did nor would respond to texts or calls. We had to redo all his work and buy all new equipment. Never will we recommend this company or James. Update: I see your comments below, neither me nor my husband received an email, a text a phone call nothing. Let’s just say the entire thing needed to be redone. Nothing worked somethings were broken and it all needed to be replaced! Yes we needed a repeater, which we would’ve gladly purchased but James did already done it but never brought it. But no worries we’ve taken care of things without Apex lawn company.

James was great to work with, super communicative. He helped us when a lawn aeration, rain, and vacation led to a overgrown Bermuda situation that my mower couldn't handle. He got us scheduled quickly and his team spent hours mowing our lawn and cleaning up, making our yard beautiful again. Would definitely recommend his services!

James was able to squeeze me into a cancellation with a single day notice. His crew cleared my property of last years leaves (I have a very forested backyard) before laying down 75 bales of pine straw. They finished in a half-day, cleaned up wonderfully, and worked around my schedule for picking up payment. They were competitively priced and I’d be happy to hire them again next season! Half my house they don't spray for weeds and the other half is just the same. I pay 150 dollars a month for these guys to cut my devil strip and spray weeds! Can't even get that right. Even better, I have dead leaves from last year on my sidewalk!!!! Don't use this company waste of my time!!

I am revising a review I posted earlier due to a miscommunication. I have worked closely with James, the owner, and he quickly worked with his team to get my yard serviced. His team did a great job and I appreciate James' customer service and responsiveness. I look forward to working with this company going forward and am happy to support a small, local company.

Their team did an excellent job planting trees and shrubs around my house this winter. They provided us with a comprehensive landscape plan that detailed the placement of each plant and explained the reasons behind their choices. Sydnee was exceptionally communicative, and I am generally pleased with the final result.

James did a great job putting up our Christmas lights. There is a slight inconsistency but he explained the reason was due to the different clips I purchased. He arranged them in a way that you really can’t notice it. I am pleased with the job and his overall professional customer service. Thanks for following up to make sure I was satisfied.

James and Apex Lawn Company have been wonderful to work with. They are reasonably priced and have kept my lawn in good shape. It’s nice to not have to worry about it and let them take care of everything.

Absolutely awful service. Had communication problems from the beginning. Ended up cutting my lawn without permission for two and a half times the initial estimate, which amounted to 207$ for a one time mow on a small residential property.

After I left the poor review on another site, however, the owner continued to text me, arguing that he’s actually the world’s gift to lawn mowing and that I should be grateful he even did it! This is unhinged behavior. Not someone you want to have access to your home. I eventually had to block his number. The office has continued to try to call me even after I have made it clear that I won’t take the review down and do not wish further contact. Think about this before you decide they are worth your time.

Edit: google did not remove my initial review. That is a lie. I wrote a different one to call out his subsequent behavior. That’s what this was about. Not the work. Not the money. It’s that he feels comfortable trying to bully people who aren’t satisfied with his work. Don’t trust this person.

When they showed up, the work was adequate. However, they would disappear for months at a time, during which time they never returned phone calls or communicated at all. We had to cancel our credit card to stop monthly rebilling with no service. The owner would eventually call and say he'd been sick. After we'd had enough we tried to cancel a few times, but they would keep randomly showing up. After the most recent interaction I think I've finally succeeded in actually cancelling service, but who knows.

Rarely answers calls, does not respect the customer, and tests patience (apologizes for this a lot, but behaves very rudely). Did a poor job (we had to redo part of the work, at our expense), got money upfront without completing the job, and left a lot of dirt . Spoils something, sometimes arrives very late, often postpones work or just disappears for a few months while leaving his equipment in our backyard.
Unable to make a reasonable estimate and invoices, often simply does not provide it and informs us after the fact when the work is done and asks for money without caring whether his work was accepted or not. Unable to plan time. Creates difficulties for customers and their neighbors, lies often.

My new home has a large and complex lot that requires various care, far above simple lawn mowing. These folks tend to the property incredibly well and with continuous suggestions for how to care for and maintain my property ensuring it never looks anything less than pristine. I’m very happy with the service and it takes a ton off my plate so I can just relax and do what I enjoy vs being a full time grounds keeper in addition to my job and life :) Highly recommended.

Ryan has given us Excellent service taking care of our lawn and recommending necessary services. Excellent job with mulching the flower beds and weeding.

James had been so great to work with. He is responsive, approachable, and quick to get things done. His team, David and Alex, worked quickly to get out mulch on our property and ensured that everything was pristine before they left. Great company to do business with!

Not able to do any work and finish it, not provide a predictable estimate. We asked for an invoice multiple times without any response from the business owner. After disappearing for 8 months after we "fired" him, he sent a late invoice with due payment 24 hours and threatened with sending it to collectors. In addition the bill was signed the same day he asked for money with 15% interest if not paid..
We were ok to pay for part he managed to complete, but this seems not sufficient for him.

Within few minutes of my review he had multiple 5 stars reviews appeared, what a coincidence, to fix up his rating.
I wonder how many positive reviews are actually real. This guy is laughable.
