Roby construction has a reputation as being the most expensive contractor in Charlotte. This is coming from our architect. We wanted to still get a bid from them because we foolishly thought that maybe they are more, but that means better. Their bid came in at 700k when everyone else was coming in at 300k! That’s a huge variance so we went into another direction and moved on. Thank God we did.

Now my neighbor (who has one of the most expensive homes in our neighborhood) is working with Roby on a small renovation and I feel like I dodge a bullet! They have not delivered on the project, they have had to micromanage , they have subpar sub-contractors doing the work and they have left their scaffolding in front of their house and a porta-potty for well over 6 months! The city actually sited them for having a porta-potty outside on the street for so long. This would make sense if you had workers on the property, but they are only workings there 5-10% of the time . You would think they were gutting the place, but it’s a small renovation. Maybe the reason they are so high is because of the lack of management to pay for these items to just sit and be an eye sore for the owners and neighborhood.

Another neighbor down the street had a major renovation done with a Handiman Service and it was done in months and they are thrilled with the outcome. We also used a Handiman Service and hired our own subs. This is a good lesson for me that more and “fancy” isn’t necessarily better. What is the point of hiring a general contractor if this is the outcome?

Taking advantage of people eventually catches up to you.

My experience with Andrew Roby for our home renovation project was outstanding. Andrew Roby, as a project manager, exhibited exceptional professionalism and coordination. The team's craftsmanship, especially in our kitchen and bathroom, was of the highest quality. They maintained punctuality, cleanliness, and respect for our space throughout the project. Impressively, they completed the work on time and within budget. I highly recommend Andrew Roby for their expert skills, efficient management, and excellent customer service.

Roby helped us with a small-scale school renovation project in summer/fall 2024. It was our second experience working with them and we would most definitely contact them again if we have construction needs.
Everyone we worked with listened and showed an understanding of our needs and our budget. Any changes to the schedule or project were communicated clearly and in a timely way.
The project start was delayed a week or so and they ended up having to start on our first day of school. However, they understood the impact this would have on our students and began later in the day and worked into the evening to accommodate our needs.
Brian Rodriguez and Cody Teseniar were very involved in overseeing all aspects of the project and they gave weekly reports on the status of the project. Different work teams came in (floor, cabinetry, construction, etc) and Brian communicated what would be happening and when at each stage of the process. He and Cody were onsite frequently to monitor the project and to check in that we were pleased with the work.
I think they were as excited about this renovation as we were!
The team took excellent care of our common areas while they were working - covering floors, covering existing furniture, and cleaning thoroughly when they were finished.
They were easy to talk to and when I communicated a misunderstanding about some of the cabinetry work, they followed up quickly and ended up adjusting our final payment as the error (while minor) was on their end.

Andrew Roby has done many projects for me in the past 25 years. All with spectacular results. Troy is completing one now and he is proof that there are top quality professionals in this company.

Have had several successful projects with Josue Palma at Andrew roby Handyman services over many years . The latest project is my beautiful bathroom which I love . Josue was very knowledgeable regarding all aspects of the job . Ha is a delightful young man , very patient and kind to everyone . He and Andrew roby stand by everything they do . It’s a great company who gets the work done and I will continue to use them in the future .

We have a bathroom remodel project and a screened porch we wanted added to our home. We spent $1,600 to provide them with the necessary structural plan and Josue Palma came to our home to measure and discuss our project then we never heard from him after that! We contacted Andrew Roby in January. It is now March 27th. Nothing.
We have already gone with someone else.

We have used Andrew Roby for two major construction projects at our home. Both were very complicated structurally and involved many different subcontractors to accomplish. They managed and executed both projects with exceptional professionalism and skill!

They play their music back in the back so loud you cannot think, plan, figure numbers measurements, etc. it is some sort of urban music that rocks and vibrates the whole area. Impossible to shop. So different in the way it used to be managed.

It was great because every one of my questions and request was answered and shown to me where the items I came looking for. Overall experience was great 😁

Very bad customer service. Mother has arranged for someone to come out to our house to check on the door size and amount of work to be done and schedule an appointment for installation. She was told someone will be there within couple hours, paid a deposit and waited all day for someone to show up. The next day she called and was told that there is no-one available and won't be available for the next 48 hours. After complaining to the manager there was nothing done to satisfy a long term customer. They were not interested in doing business, they just offered to cancel the order.

After having our copper water lines replaced, Raul's drywall, paint and tile crew's did an outstanding job. After having several quotes on the work we decided we were most comfortable with Raul. All the work was done within a week after accepting his estimate. His crews showed up when expected and cleaned well up after their work was completed. Would definitely recommend.

Raul and crew did an exquisite job painting our living areas (kitchen, dining room, living room, entryway, stairway and hallway), walls, ceilings, baseboards and doors. We've been in this house for over a decade with four kids, so it had taken a lot of abuse, and the original colors we picked out for this house had worn out their welcome, if you know what I mean. Raul also repaired a hole in the ceiling where we had a shower drain repaired, and patched up some peeled ceiling drywall that resulted from an attic HVAC unit's drain pain spilling over a couple times. They also stained a butcher-block bench seat and painted the shelves and cubbies of a new dropzone area. The house looks good as new. I greatly appreciated Raul's eye for detail and going above and beyond; for example, they had already painted the ceiling when an electrician had smudged it up doing a light-box replacement, and he repainted the spot without asking. Raul takes pride in his work, and it shows. Highly recommend!

I had an incredible experience working with GLORY BUILDERS LLC! From the start, their team was extremely quick to respond, which made the process so much smoother. Their quality of work is top-notch—everything was done with precision and care, exceeding my expectations

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I was initially excited about working with Shakir Parkinson and his team at Glory Builders, only to be scammed out of my money and time. Mr. Parkinson has constantly mishandled funds designated for my project, leaving it abandoned at times due to his inability to pay staff to work it and for missing materials and supplies. Over $13,000 later, after being 3 weeks over schedule with no consistent progress, I’ve decided that I can no longer take a chance of working with this company, and have taken a loss in trying to deal with Mr. Parkinson. He claims that he has taken a loss, but has received more than his requested contracted amount for payments through the terminated contract date. He takes NO accountability for how he has chosen to operate his business, which leaves no room for improvement and growth. Thankfully, one of his sub contractors has volunteered to finish the job, and has handled everything professionally, delivering ideal progress and quality work. Mr. Parkinson with Glory Builder’s received a payment in error that was meant for his subcontractor, agreed it was sent to him in error, but has refused to return it. This is only a glimpse of the issues in working with this company.
