We had a major issue with our home, which was built by QC Builders (Charlotte Home Buyers, LLC) in 2021. After a few years of ownership, we discovered a serious plumbing leak underneath the home that had caused damage to the bathroom, bedroom, closet, and crawl space. This wasn’t a minor drip — it was a long-term leak that led to structural damage, bowing floors, rotted subflooring, and even impacted insulation.

As soon as I discovered the issue, I reached out to the builder. I hoped they would want to understand what went wrong and work with me to make it right. Instead, they pointed to the one-year warranty and declined to take responsibility. When I asked for help at least matching the original tile and LVP flooring so I could start repairs, they didn’t even assist with that. I had to hunt all over town, by myself, just to match materials so my contractor could get the job done quickly.

Wanting to handle things through the proper channels, I filed a small claims case. I documented everything — photos, repair invoices, videos, correspondence. In the end, the case was dismissed due to a procedural requirement for an expert witness, not because the damage wasn’t real. I chose not to refile because of the cost and time of bringing in an expert, but that doesn’t mean the issue wasn’t valid.

Ask yourself: Does this look like normal wear and tear?

Because what we found didn’t feel like that. It felt like a failure in plumbing installation that was hidden until it caused real damage. This was leaking for a long while that expanded past our bed.

All I ever wanted was for them to stand behind their work and help fix the issue — or at the very least, help make the repairs easier. That didn’t happen.

We’re not the type to leave negative reviews lightly, but after going through months of repairs, legal filings, and thousands in out-of-pocket costs, we want others to be aware. This was our experience. Do with it what you will — but be careful, and ask more questions than we did.

Jacqueline is incredible to work with. She takes the time to understand the vision for the renovation and translated it into a thoughtful, beautiful design. The 3D model she created made it so easy to visualize exactly how everything would come together. On top of her talent and attention to detail, she’s genuinely one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.

Love how our 2nd floor addition turned out! Great crew, super easy to talk to, and they kept us in the loop the whole time. Definately recommend.

They did our remodel and addition project and did an amazing job. The house looks brand new, the workmanship is top notch, and the team was great to work with from start to finish. Highly recommend!

The gentleman we met with didn't seem like he had a clue, and when we questioned him about why, he said "frickin" on 4 different occasions. Very unprofessional. He was also sitting in the office with dip or chewing tobacco in his mouth, spitting in a can. Again unprofessional. It was nice that he took the time to meet with us after business hours. Hence 2 🌟 instead of one

I just closed on my beautiful home from Madison Homebuilders. The quality and communication was top notch and I've been referring everyone that's asked about my home. If you're looking for a team that cares and gets the job done professionally, Madison Homebuilder's the one!

If I could leave zero Stars I definitely would. This by far is the most unprofessional company I've ever experienced in my life. The person I was working with was Tim White. The house I wanted to have built was a great sale by Tim. I asked him for additional information in regards to the building of the home and he said he would follow up with me. I also asked them for some financial information to get my budget and he also stated he will follow up with me. However, after he came to my property and said it would be no problem having a home built all the issues aroae. The first issue was all communication stopped. We went up to the office on Clanton Road to discuss even farther and also pick out options we wanted in the home and not only was Tim rude and unprofessional, after that meeting he has been non-responsive. I even tried reaching out to his sales manager; who shruggred me off and also did not respond. I then tried reaching out to someone higher up by the name of Mike Boyce and left him several voice messages and to this day still have not received a call back.

My recommendation is never to do business with this company and if you're looking to have a home built please look elsewhere. I will try to get this message out to as many people as I can as I would like people to know not to waste your money on something as valuable as your home with a company that does not respect people or their time. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have in regards to this company.

From selection to pre-construction to construction, I have nothing but great things to say about this company. My salesperson, Willie, was very easy to deal with. My construction manager Jimbo could not have made the process go any smoother. Absolutely a 5-star experience. I would recommend building a home with them to anyone.
