We used Tree Masters to cut down and dispose of 16 Holly and Cedar trees in our home. We also used the company to trim low hanging limbs for a large Oak in our yard. The tree master team identified the need to also trim/cut other branches on the oak that ultimately allowed for more sun and now we have grass growing where before we didn't. The team communicated with me through out the process, cleaned up the branches and the yard. We were very pleased with the service and have recommended them to other neighbors. We will definitely use Tree Masters again. Excellent work and affordable pricing.

The crew did a great job taking care of 3 large pines in our backyard. They were in and out quickly and did a great job cleaning up. I highly recommend Chris and his crew!

Tree Masters knows their stuff — and it shows!

Tree Masters walked our entire property and inventoried every significant tree we have — American Elm, Pecan, Dogwood, Japanese Maple, Saucer Magnolia, Sassafras, American Chestnut, Holly, and more. They even flagged the street-side Willow Oak as likely city-owned so we didn’t accidentally pay for work on a tree that isn’t ours. That kind of detail says a lot.

Their assessment was refreshingly honest - recommendations were categorized as Urgent, Recommended, or Optional rather than upselling unnecessary work. Our canopy was in very good health overall, and they told us so straight.

The pruning work was excellent. The Elm in front looks transformed; canopy opened up, elevated over the street, sucker growth cleaned out, and heavy bow weight reduced without losing the tree’s character. The Pecan out back got similar care. They reshaped the Holly and Camellia into proper tree form rather than overgrown shrubs, and pulled the Ligustrum along the fence back several feet while keeping it looking completely natural.

Every bit of wood, chips, and debris was hauled away clean.

If you have mature trees and want a crew that treats them with real knowledge (not just chainsaws) Tree Masters of Charlotte is the call to make.

I contacted Gomez Tree Service to help us trim some branches that were messing with the roof and to remove some small trees and dead bushes in our new home. This company is more than amazing! There was bad storm last night and a tree fell over in my yard. Have used Heartwood four times over the last few years. This visit, we had 4 crepe myrtles trimmed & shaped; 2 crepe myrtles hard pruned; and 2 Japanese maples trimmed away from house. Very knowledgeable and friendly crew. Appreciated the time they took to answer every one of my questions about the trees in question and other trees/shrubs in our yard. Highly recommend!

Following Craig’s (arborist who consulted with us before the work) recommendations for a very old maple tree, the crew (Owen, James, and Moises) carefully pruned the tree and worked hard to preserve the good limbs and remove a dead one and other twigs and branches . They were all very professional, pleasant, and thorough in explaining the entire process. They also installed a swing on an enormous water oak in the backyard using proper materials to put the weight of it on the trunk and not just on a limb. They went to some extra trouble positioning the truck to leave the mulch from the chipper. And cleaned in all up. Highly recommend!!!!!

Christine and the Heartwood team removed trees that had been harmed in the hurricane and which were a threat to my roof. I selected Heartwood for their slogan— helping trees outlive people. I hated having to get rid of any more trees. Christine was very appreciative and professional regarding my respect for the trees.

She and her team arrived, did the work, and cleaned up very swiftly. They were mindful not to harm my yard and left zero trace other than my safer roof and house.

Four very old and expansive trees, two Sugar Maples
and two Silver Maples, resided on the property my wife and I bought in West Ashville almost 3 years ago; two had cables
supporting outsized limbs. During the first year of home ownership I had a very capable arborist replace the strained cables and do a some selective pruning and trimming while my wife and I dealt with home issues requiring our immediate attention. I felt that additional work was needed to shape the crowns and to eliminate clusters of secondary and tiertary branches, work that would best be done by a multi-person crew.

Early this year, after having conversations with four arborists representing companies that had received very positive online reviews, I decided to contract with Christine of Heartwood Tree Care, a company based in Charlotte but with a presence in Asheville.

From the outset Christine listened and understood what I wanted regarding tree maintenance and appearance. She explained what was needed for the betterment of the trees and what realistically could be accomplished in regards my objectives. Her detailed responses provided me with the confidence that the work would be done to my satisfaction.

Each of the four tree service representatives that visited our property told me that they were not allowed do any trimming/pruning of branches that extended into the vicinity of the utility lines at the edge of our driveway. Christine was the only one who said that while tree trimmers are prohibited from working near the main utility lines, she would contact and organize with Duke Energy to turn off, and later restore, power for the individual service line which brought electricity from the main line onto our property. And if necessary, she would ask Duke to physically drop our service line to provide clearance to safely work in that space. Temporarily turning off the power within our service line was all that was needed to safely access a large branch which extended over our driveway and onto our neighbor’s property. Attending to this branch was a significant part of properly trimming/pruning that tree, and only Christine included it in her proposal.

When the work day arrived, everything went smoothly and according to plan. Duke turned off the power before the early morning arrival of the four man Heartwood crew, and restored it shortly after the work was done. No time was wasted in beginning and completing the work which included using chipper trucks to dispose of the trimmings and branches. Clean-up was thorough and complete. Working with Christine and the office staff at Heartwood was a pleasure. I highly recommend Heartwood Tree Care.

Heartwood delivers quality care. John, Sean, & Jack did an excellent job of clearing deadwood and trimming the canopy for better airflow during high wind situations. The crew was very skilled, taking their time to assure safety. Cleanup was done well, and all patio furniturshings were returned to their original positions. Highly recommend this professional team.
