They came through and cut the limbs off the power lines (right away behind my fence) and needed access to the yard. They left small branches and tore my yard up. I was told that they would be back to fix it. They lied. They haven’t come back yet Or returned a phone call ……. Part 2 these sorry people begged and promised me to clean up my yard if I allowed them to finish cutting well they are LIARS. They finish cutting a limb knocked the line down and they left. They did not have common sense or courtesy to ring my doorbell and tell me the line was down ( I was watching them when this happen )I thought they would have called someone to repair l the line I have children in my home. I.had to call Duke to come out, they arrived around 11:30 PM. It could have been a disaster if I had not known that line was down and my children went in the backyard to play. my video will not post showing what they did but you best believe I have it and can show it too them . This is a sorry company under sorry leadership🤬🔥

I'm not exactly sure what they are doing. I do know they have left a Ford F-750 in my yard for the past two nights. They also tore up the ground behind their trailer. Nobody left a note asking for permission or even explaining what's going on. I thought maybe they were going to trim my trees out of the kindness of their heart. I was ready to give a 5 star review but going on night two and nothing from them. Attached are what they did to my private property. Even threw their cigarettes out in my yard. Such a shame. Seems they are living off those power company contracts instead of making customers happy.

If I could give zero stars I would - this disrespectful nuisance of a company had their crew talk to me, twice (2x’s)and did exactly what I asked them not to do after agreeing to not mess with my property tree line at the ground level) and now their crew is dragging debris thru my yard - walking thru my planted bushes - just utterly disrespectful. People literally pay good money for the upkeep of their property- if you guys can’t respect that, then move the lines some where obscure and leave tax paying citizen’s’ properties alone. Your bucket men looking at me like I’m crazy for them making a mess on my property. They had no right or reason to bother the bottom of my property line. And the guy in the bucket was just cut happy. Can’t even enjoy my day off from work in peace. I tried to give this company the benefit of having a job to do but hey proved to be deceitful and frankly, bold face liars. Highly disappointed in the lack of integrity.

Update: They returned from lunch and continued to destroy my privacy area with no regard for my expressed concerned. Just wanted to share a snippet of the blatant disregard for residents. Extremely disturbing and disgusting representation for the company’s that contract them (Dominion Energy). And definitely no professionalism - even in the cutting. The guy in the bucket randomly cutting branches that were no where near the lines out of spite due to I asking them not to - they provide shade for our homes. I know it’s out of spite because he left actually greener on the power pole- near the lines… I don’t have to be a professional to know that makes no sense.

*Update - the following morning. Awaken to Asplundh’s service guy at my door (as they have been a disrupting my rest all week with there early morning commotion) saying I called the company… which I did on yesterday and asked for a supervisor- to send the same guy that lied to my face in the beginning about not touching my property line, NOT A SUPERVISOR. It’s obvious this. company, Asplundh, hides behind their non-knowledge unprofessional labor workers to address the management of their projects. Sending your employee to smirk in my face and threaten me that they will come back to cut more of MY PROPERTY is insane & illegal. But thanks for the heads up. See the video of the labor man showing up to butcher what should be management/supervisory task of speaking with property owners.
Also, teach your guys how to use walkways… walking through people’s yard is disrespectful - although that seems to be your company’s motto.

Asplundh arrived at my company's terminal and began trimming limbs on behalf of Duke Energy without notifying anyone on the premises. There were 2 enclosed cargo trailers below the transformer they were removing surrounding branches from. I asked the two man crew if I could move the trailers before they began and they said if there was any damage, Duke would cover the cost. A branch did indeed fall and damaged the roof of one of the trailers allowing water to enter. They have also failed to clean up the branches they removed from the tree.

They sent a young hotheaded employee to do the repair without communicating to me that was how we were going to proceed in the process. I realized shortly after his arrival that we would be unable to communicate in a professional manner so simply asked him for the supplies they had purchased and began the repair myself.

Shout out to these guys for showing up in my neighborhood the Saturday morning after Christmas when we're all trying to enjoy a quiet last weekend of the holidays. They made extremely loud noise for 3 hours and set up a wood chipper right beside my house so we could not even hear ourselves talk over lunch. But I'm sure this was crucial to trim branches on a Saturday morning. Extremely annoying, not to mention the hack job they did on my neighbor's beautiful mature tree. They also parked a large vehicle in my other neighbor's grass without even asking.

They left "the notice", we respectfully communicated our conerns. In return, they respectfully communicated and did an Excellent job! Special shout-out to Justin, Dillon, Jeff, and Chris. We really appreciate you all listening and being willing to work with a concerned homeowner.

They were doing contract work for Duke power because apparently they needed a tree cut back so they could come replace a pole that is not due for replacement for two more years. They destroyed my natural area. They ran over my rocks. They drug the trees over my gravel and destroyed my driveway. They left the mess for me to clean up and to add insult to injury. The low performance driver who could not back a trailer backed into my natural area. Not once but twice the first time moving all of my rock border and the second time pulling my railroad tie out of line and tearing up my mulch. I sent an email and of course never got a response. I guess Duke power is happy with their service because Duke Power is not the ones that's property is getting tore up. But there is no way that I would contract them to do any work.

This is absolutely the worst company I've ever had to deal with. They are subcontractors for Dominion Energy in South Carolina. Upon them cutting down limbs around the power line in my yard, a crew of theirs damaged my water lines. No one on the crew informed me that they broke my water lines and instead tried to cover up their mistake with sticks and caution tape to make it look intentional but I have security cameras. I filed a claim with Dominion and was told by Asplunth that reimbursement would be issued. Its going on (2) months now and still have not received any reimbursement. Ive called and left several voice mails in multiple departments. Not one call back and no one ever answers the phone. Then when you ask the operator to please transfer me to someone I can talk to they get an attitude. It's not a shocker that they have a google rating of 1.9 stars. This is the worst company EVER and I've and that's saying something when I've eaten at Burger King. Horrible and unbelievable. 0 Stars

Over the 25 years I’ve lived in my home, Duke Energy and their contractors have periodically trimmed trees near the power lines. Each time, the work was handled professionally — only the necessary branches were cut, and crews communicated clearly before proceeding.

That changed during the most recent visit from Asplundh Tree Service, working under Duke Energy’s contract. They just showed up one morning, unannounced, no door tag as they claimed. Before the work began near my property, I spoke with the crew foreman who assured me they would only trim branches as usual. Days later, I caught them cutting away more than HALF of the height of my mature Nellie Stevens hollies — healthy trees that were not encroaching on the lines, trees that I planted myself when I bought this house. They destroyed a natural barrier, habitat and left an unsightly mess without any care to the health of the trees.

I managed to stop them after they had already damaged five of my eight trees. When questioned, the foreman I had spoken with previously acted as if he couldn't remember our earlier conversation and just started quoting policies. (Infuriating and insufferable customer service). He eventually passed me to a supervisor who called me a few days later and claimed they “cut everything within 15 feet for public safety" then went on to use that as justification for the way they cut the trees, without any care for their long term health. He admitted that they would not have cut them as aggressively under different circumstances and that they may not even survive. Their proposed solution? Cut them all the way to the ground at no charge. I became extremely upset when they threatened that they would be coming back to finish the job. The supervisor who talked past me through the whole conversation felt it necessary to advise me that he hadn't used profanity, so I shouldn't either. (Let me know where I can get a customer support job where I CAN use profanity.)

The crew also showed a troubling lack of respect for our neighborhood. They drove heavy equipment across my neighbor’s freshly re-landscaped lawn and through vegetation on another adjoining property, leaving ruts and crushed plantings and fencing behind as if our yards didn’t matter. The entire operation felt rushed and inconsiderate.

When I called Duke Energy directly, I was told that such heavy topping was not their policy and that only selective trimming should have been performed. Duke advised they would contact Asplundh and advise them that I do NOT want them back on my property and they are not to cut any more trees, or bushes on my property, ever. Period!

I have filed complaints with both Asplundh and Duke Energy. Asplundh has taken zero accountability, while Duke Energy is investigating. I am also seeking legal counsel due to the extent of the damage, the apparent lack of communication between Asplundh crews and Duke Energy and the lack of responsibility shown by Aspludh supervisors.

I am surprised that Duke Energy would even use a company that has as many bad reviews and zero accountability.

Homeowners should be cautious — contact Duke Energy directly before any trimming begins, get everything in writing, and take photos of your property and surroundings. Once Asplundh starts cutting or driving on your property, it may be too late to stop them.

Hands down, the absolute best tree service company in the Charlotte area. Our firm has known the Cadieu family for many years and can confirm they are extremely professional and reputable folks.

We had Cadieu take out a very large oak tree in our backyard which required skilled precision between our home and garage. They were extremely professional from start to finish and would highly recommend. Between each cut of a limb they would clean up the excess branches or sawdust so it was constantly clean. Highly recommend.

Just ok Charged to much for90 min work.

I tried to use this company. They canceled on 4 different occasions - pushing us off the scheduling and claiming they had “bad instructions.” Not even remotely worth the hassle. I wish I could give 0 stars.

These guys are amazing. Good prices, showed up on time and made quick work of my fallen tree. Highly recommend.

The team was awesome. They arrived early and finished ahead of schedule. They cleaned up much better than I expected. I'm extremely pleased with Cadieu services and recommend them highly.

Mr Cadieu never called me back!; But Ms. Cadieu did after reading my post. They are swamped and I understand that. My trees are diseased at the tops and need to be evaluated for what is eating the leaves. They do not offer that type of service and made a reccomendation. I appreciate their calling me.

If I could give zero stars I would. Don’t be fooled by this “family business” bull on their website. The owner of this business severely damaged my fence as he was removing a tree and stump from my neighbor’s yard and refused to pay for the damage to my fence. He actually stated, “I don’t care...sue me.” So you should consider a reputable company who cares about its work and does the right thing and pass this jackass and his “family business” right on by. If they damage your property removing a tree, then you will have to sue for recovery. In my case, I suppose I will have to sue my neighbor for recovery because this “family guy” can’t be bothered to do the right thing. Personally, I would never do business with anyone who didn’t have ethical and moral decency.

We had a very large Willow Oak in our front yard that was starting to fail. A 110-125 year old tree at the end of its life, it started dropping some large limbs. We called 8 companies to look at the tree, 6 of them said they would not touch it, and of them 4 recommended Joe Cadieu. Of the 2 companies that could do the job (it needed a 40 ton crane), Joe was able to get it down the soonest. Knowing that the tree was dangerous, Joe's professional and courteous team worked all weekend to get it down.

These guys are highly skilled at removing large, complicated trees.

Reasonable costs considering how difficult the job was to complete.

Although Joe can be difficult to get ahold of sometimes, it is only because he is so busy, and pretty much "the guy" to handle these types of tree removal jobs. Just keep calling him on his cell phone, and/or keep trying the office number.

Its telling that all the reviews in the last couple months are in ref to City Projects around their own properties - that are free to home owners
