Good Sales Pitch, Bad Follow-Through

We chose The Cleaning Authority after a professional walk-through and a maximum cost estimate of $550. I added oven cleaning, expecting the industry standard $35–55. Instead, my credit card was charged $240 over the estimate — despite another resident already writing a check at the time of cleaning.

When we tried to clarify, Katie stopped responding to voicemail and email, and even the VP of Operations, John, ignored our message. We eventually canceled the extra check, but only because of our own effort — not their help.

The cleaning itself was uneven: some doors, ledges, and baseboards were left untouched, the crew didn’t move dining chairs to mop, and a pewter anniversary statue was knocked over and broken without a word.

The Cleaning Authority looks polished up front, but the communication, accountability, and quality don’t match the pitch. We can’t recommend them.

They came out for a deep clean August 28th and one of the girls broke a sentimental piece on my mantel (not replaceable) didn't even tell me. The vents were not cleaned nor the laundry room floor mopped. I was told a final walk through would be done, I was sitting in my garage as they arrived an hour and half early and I was not ready to leave. Another lady appeared and said it looked good, no walk through. I explained things were still not okay and she told me to email the manager. I immediately emailed and have called leaving 2 voicemails and talked to the owner once and was informed he had to talk to the manager? Um, sir you are the owner. Still no resolution or call backs and were coming up on a month. Do yourself a favor and save your money (it's not cheap) I had such high expectations after our meeting and was completely let down. I would not recommend this company. It was a total waste of money and my time.

This was my first cleaning with Cleaning Authority and I am very pleased. They have great staff who are friendly and amenable to the needs of this household. It’s a challenge to clean and yet they did a great job.

I started their service recently, and so far they have done a very good job. They are responsive to feedback, and special requests. They will use your products if you prefer. I like that they have a system that all of their cleaners follow so you know what to expect. They are also ok with my dogs being around while they clean.

The young man and woman team provided a thorough cleaning of my two bedroom two bathroom condo. Attention to detail throughout my unit was apparent visually and by smell. I will request this same team to regularly clean my condo. 🙂

Absolutely love this company and the staff! Katie and her team are always super professional, super nice and always willing to answer any questions. And go out of their way to ensure you are happy and comfortable with their services. I was finally able to get them on a schedule after only doing once a year and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a little extra help keeping up with the house. They take the extra time to organize my daughter’s bedroom, stuffed animals and are always Wonderful. And my house is always refreshed and sparkling after they leave Without me having to worry about checking behind them. If you’re looking for a reliable, friendly and responsible, cleaning company could not recommend them enough!
