Very helpful and knowledgeable staff with a wide variety of plants and trees. We got several varieties of blueberry bushes, and I love the carnivorous plants they have inside. We will definitely be returning for any and all of our outdoor projects!

This was the cutest garden place ever! They have a place to get a beer or glass of wine while your walking around looking at plants. We were in search of a big house plant for our living room. They have an entire indoor area for house plants. They had a variety of sizes for each plant we looked at. Debbie helped us and was so nice, patient and knowledgeable. I have quite a few plants at home and had questions about them and she answered all of them. They gave us a brochure to help answer questions and problem solve if something isn’t going right. They also said we can call and they can look up the plants we’ve gotten from them to assist us in making sure the plants are flourishing. I highly recommend this place if you are someone who really wants to help your plants thrive. Thank you so much!

Ended up visiting here since they are one of the only places with a "pumpkin patch" that allow dogs...for a photoshoot. I will def plan to return to purchase plants as well as to get drinks at the Shed. The slush with moscato was delicious!! There are also goats! 🐐 I'm very happy to have been introduced to this lovely spot.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with Scott, Marsha, and the amazing team at For Garden’s Sake, and it’s been nothing short of incredible. They are kind, generous, and a true joy to partner with and exceptional at what they do.

Their passion for creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces shines through in every project, and their dedication to their clients and community is truly inspiring. Finding a team that’s this talented and genuine is rare. We’re so grateful to work alongside such wonderful people!

If you're looking for a company that cares deeply and delivers high-quality work, we can’t recommend For Garden’s Sake enough.

Their flowers always last longer than buying from Lowe’s or elsewhere! Best selection and fun for the kids with the swing set and animals.

My wife loves this place and I appreciate it for that. Beyond that, they always have something new when we go there, the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They have so much stuff for indoors and out so is definitely worth the trip to check it out.

There are goats, chickens, and ducks to look at too!

UPDATE: They have expanded a little and there are even more plants inside. There is a clearance section with some really good deals, too!

A great place for family fun and shopping for plants, plant food, garden soil, and mulch. They have a large variety of flowers, herbs, and pots. The pond was wonderful to roam around with kids and the goats and chickens made our kids day! Will visit again for sure.

We drove 2 hours to come visit and it was totally worth it; would highly recommend this adventure! An exceptional experience and high quality plants too.

I just started rebuilding all of my plant beds and the staff have been very helpful. The plant section is great and the newest options for fall plants are just coming in. I worked with Amy who helped me with planing and lets me know when to plant which verity I also have mulch being delivered this week.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Visit the Potting Shed for drinks while (or before, or after) you shop. House plants are available inside and they rotate new inventory constantly. Only slightly more expensive than big box stores and the plants are WAY healthier. I visit at least once a week, usually for either new pots or new plants and then I end up leaving with both. All plants pictured below are from FGS!

Beautiful place, but the staff is not as nice as you would expect them to be. I once called and asked if they had the dark green heart-shaped leaves Philodendrons. She had no idea what plant I was talking about, then became rude when I said it was a very common houseplant. I asked if I could speak with a supervisor, thinking they would understand what I was talking about. She irately said “I AM the supervisor”. I was shocked at how rude this person was, and just as shocked she didn’t know what a heart-shaped philodendron was. I said Thank you, anyway and hung up. I then called the Durham Garden Center where they are always polite and knowledgeable when you have questions. Of course, they knew what plant I was asking about, and they had plenty. I have posted a picture of the philodendron I was asking about so you can see it’s not an unusual plant in any way. It’s okay if you don’t know something, but you certainly should not be rude to potential customers. This certainly is a beautiful place to walk around and look. It’s when you have questions that you will experience poor customer service skills and bad attitudes.

Shout out to Noël for helping me choose the perfect plants for the planters on my front porch! I am not at all a plant expert so I really appreciated her guidance.

We recently remodeled our backyard with For Garden's Sake and we're very happy with the results! The team is awesome and very responsive and was what we were looking for. From Billy's design chops to AmberLeigh and Viridian coordinating the whole thing and Jack keeping us up-to-date on the job site, we found the whole experience to be pleasant and straightforward. They even got us in touch with a deck builder and worked with us to adjust our overall design plan to fit our budget. As you can see, we opted out of the plants for now, but that just goes to show you how versatile they are!

I LOVE this place. The plant selection is amazing, they're well taken care of and visibly loved, the labeling of pet safe plants is thorough and helpful, the staff is always warm and eager to help if needed, great outdoor and indoor area.
I used to bounce around, buying my plants from Lowe's, Home Depot, Target, and the farmer's market in Raleigh, but I think I'll stick to here from now on.
This place deserves all the good reviews it's earned. The layout is a little cramped but it lends to the cozy and relaxed atmosphere more than anything.
If you're debating on trying this place out, GO FOR IT. Prices are reasonable too, plus there are a lot of kid friendly activities to keep them busy, including a separate outdoor playground. I'm serious, this place is great. Even though it's insanely hot in the summer, they have great air conditioning in the indoor areas and circulation in the shaded outdoors.
Thank you guys for everything you do, my family swears by you

This was my first landscaping endeavor and Garden Sake did a wonderful job. They were very responsive, especially since they were last minute changes requested by the HOA. I enjoy working with everybody. This is a great company five stars.

What a gem to find on a Sunday afternoon!
I loved the many different house plants and varieties of orchids!

They have beautiful plants and shrubs and it's neat to watch the chickens, ducks and other farm animals. There's also a pond. They have a landscaping department I plan to use in the spring to redo my garden.

A magical wonderland for all the plant lovers out there.

This place is massive! Plants everywhere, pots everywhere, everything you'd ever need!

The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable of the plants available. I probably spent an hour here and it was so worth it. When you think of a plant shop, this is the place you think of. Plants hanging from the ceilings, climbing up the wall, everywhere you look something new catches your eye.

I will definitely be returning and I'll be bringing some plant lovers with me!

For thousands of years, I would drive past for garden’s shake shake on the way to Costco.
When my body turned 40, a gardening gene code was released within and now I am buying trees and perennial flowers. I have been gardening since July, and have managed to create a 10 year garden in under 3 months. There are few garden stores I like to visit and this is a good one for the reasons that include: there is a wide selection of kinds of trees, shrubs, flowers, the staff are knowledgeable and helpful with loading things in your car, they serenade you on Friday’s with live music and at other times with emotional music, the staff have walkie talkies, there are live animals to feed and stare at, checkout lady wears a Van Gogh hat, the parking lot has plenty of space, there is a plant potting shack to help get your plant potted, there are plenty of wheel carts to use, there is one restroom for customers, and they sell soap. For these reasons I would recommend for your garden needs.

In 2022, I finally decided that the poor drainage situation in our back yard had to be addressed. I've had other landscape services that disappointed me and was determined to get a qualified & dependable company this time.
I researched the landscapers in the area and found For Garden's Sake was a well run and very reputable organization. I reached out to the folks at FGS and gave them a description of the problems we were experiencing. Nick contacted me and we arranged to have him survey the property to do a landscape consultation. During the consultation, my wife and I worked with Doug (FGS's landscape architect) to detail the items we had to have fixed and some others that would be a 'nice to have'. From that, FGS developed a proposal showing all parts of the planned project with explanations for each segment. We then had a meeting with Doug to adjust the scope and materials to fit our budget and, once it was agreed upon, schedule the work. We were away for the initial portion (regrading and old sod removal) but were there to see the rest as they progressed. The worker were efficient, competent and considerate of us and our property.
Total time for the work was 11 days. The results were amazing! One of the best parts was the work done to create a walkway and disposal bin pad from the garage driveway to the backyard deck eliminating the walk through soggy grass. I would highly recommend FGS for their expertise and professional work. The people there are devoted to making the customer satisfied and providing the best service possible.
