WATCH OUT, Dr. Drain will rip you off! I submitted a claim to AHS for a new water heater. AHS sent Dr. Drain who charges me $1,347 above the AHS coverage claiming that was the cost to bring the water heater up to code. A month later the "new" water heater leaked and flooded my unit causing damage to the new floors that were installed after the initial blowout. I called the Building Inspector who told me that the work they performed to "bring it up to code" was not necessary. I called Ted, the owner, he did not give his last name, of course, to try and recoup some of the cost that I had paid them and to try to get some compensation for the damage but Ted said "Have a nice day sir"
PLEASE RESEARCH THEM BEFORE YOU USE THEM, THEY HAVE A STRING OF SCAMS LISTED IN THEIR REVIEWS

Very pleased - called on Christmas Eve to fix a clog in our main line and he was there within an hour. Upfront about his (very reasonable) prices and gave us good tips to avoid issues in the future. Highly recommend!

Ted was able to make it out the day after I called. He gave up front pricing, and was friendly and thorough. All work was completed as promised the same day. Definitely recommend - I will be using this company again!

Dr Drain in Hillsborough once again was wonderful. I’ve had them before so I called again. City water had a seed come through and it lodged in the Flapper leaving a constantly running toilet. They gave me a window of time for the same day but came within that first hour. He found the issue instantly and showed me the seed. What I really appreciate about Dr Drain (besides that cool name) is I have learned so much. Ie: what NOT to put or flush in your toilet. Now I really appreciate that as it proves they are on the side of we the people. After all, the more wrong stuff we put in our toilet; the more we have to call them. Not to make this review too long I’ll tell you one of several things I’ve learned Do Not put those ‘wipes’ in to flush. Stick to Toilet Paper. There is a lot more they teach. 10 STARS

HSA home warranty sent Dr. Drain to us since our garbage disposal has died. We moved into the house just one month earlier and the garbage disposal was working, the inspector did not see any problems with it. The unit was 13 years old though. Nevertheless, Ryan presented it to HSA not as a normal wear but unintended use. He made sure that the company denied our claim and we had to pay out of pocket. He also charged us $75 for the visit (in addition to the item price and work cost) even though he had $45 marked in his form, he just crossed out this number and changed the price. I supose he has an interest in getting the money directly from the customer as opposed to waiting for HSA to pay and shamelessly takes advantage of the situation.

I have an AHS contract. My water heater went out and I didn't know what was wrong, so I called AHS and they had Dr Drain call me. This company was the fastest I have seen to call back. I scheduled an appointment for the same day. The tech came out and told me that my heater would have to be replaced. I was devastated. He said he would call AHS and let them know what was going on. AHS in return called me and advised me that there was a lot of stuff that wasn't covered and I was going to have to pay out of pocket. At first I was mad at Dr Drain and AHS, but I started calling around other plumbing companies and found some of them higher in price for less work.
I also found some lower in price for just the heater its self to be replaced, as I told them what I needed they wanted to add extra cost on top to bring it up to code.

AHS was confusing when they tried to explain the cost of installing my water heater. It ended up being Dr Drain had the same pricing or lower, but did more work than the others to bring it up to code. I felt very happy with Dr Drain, because they gave me the price upfront and that is what I paid at the end.

I went to Angies List and printed off a coupon for $75 and with this it made Dr Drain cost less than anybody else. I would recommend them to my friends, family, and neighbors.

Our hot water heater stopped working. Ted was at our house within an hour. He gave us great tips on what went wrong, how to fix it in the future, and what to look out for. He didn't even charge us for the visit! Very highly recommend!

I have used Dr. Drain Inc several times. April took my call and let me know that someone would be by that afternoon. When Ryan arrived, within the time April quoted, I had not made it home yet and April gave me a call to let me know he was there. Ryan, as always, was prompt and professional. I highly recommend this company.

Exceptional service, with immediate same-day response to my request for assistance. All costs were explained fully beforehand and were reasonable. Dr Drain/Ryan has helped me on 4 occasions in the past 10 years on different matters (sewer & washing machine drain lines clogged; commode fill valve replacement; pressure reduction valve replacement) and they solved each problem permanently with one visit. I feel lucky to have found such a reliable plumber!

I was very impressed with Dr. Drain Plumbing. They were very responsive and on time to my appointment. Dr Drain's services were excellent. He was easy to reach. He came to our house in a reasonable time frame and he fixed our problem promptly without fuss. The entire experience was pleasant. This was the first time we employed Dr Drain. He is now our "go to" plumber.

We have been have been using Dr. Drain for close to 5 years. Ryan, our normal plumber, does outstanding work. Always takes the time to do the job right. The price has always been fair and the work beyond reproach. Then over the new years holiday our hot water heater started to leak thru the ceiling. Called Dr. Drain on New Years Day and the owner came out within 2 hours of me calling and fixed the our leak. He charged me the standard price to repair/replace the value, even though he came out on a Holiday. Highly recommend them !!!

Ryan was always helpful and always honest. Rates were typically more affordable than I usually expect and they didn't screw around with trip charges. Also saved us a lot of money by just telling me directly how to do things a lot of times for small jobs unless we just didn't want to do it because of being busy with or tired from our own jobs or something. I liked this company so much I tried to get them to drive to Charlotte for service after we moved (offering to pay the time even). Too far of course and that's fine but it'd be awesome if they opened a Charlotte office.

We had a part break in our kitchen faucet just as we were leaving for vacation. We called Dr. Drain on our way to the airport, and they promptly came to our house (our neighbor let them in). The part had to be ordered, so they followed up with us right after we returned and installed it promptly. The plumber Ted, with whom we have worked before, was outstanding. We have used various plumber in the triangle area before discovering Dr. Drain, who is by far the best in the area for customer service, price, and quality of work. We highly recommend them!

I have used Dr Drain for many projects and repairs over the last few years. Ryan has always been my serviceman and has always been prompt, professional and courteous. Ted was the serviceman today and he did not disappoint. He was quick to solve the problem and even gave some suggestions to save money.
