We had lots of hail damage on our roof, Bill and Keyway were recommended to us. They were very efficient and their estimate was not too far off of the final notice. Bill was very knowledgeable and helpful with color choice:

I had rotted boards and siding all around my house as well as some other projects (installation of new storm door, gutter repair, etc...). I had several contractors come out and give estimates for the work to be done. Bill McHugh and Keyway Construction got the job, based on his friendly demeanor, time he took with my wife and me walking the house and thoroughly explaining what needs to be done. Bill's knowledge and years of experience came through loud and clear. We also got a strong sense that he is a man of integrity. Bill did not disappoint. Jesus, Israel and Norma were a great team. They were on time each day, worked at a good pace and the repair work was outstanding! Will also say that Melissa & Sonya in the office were super friendly and communicated next steps clearly. Happy to highly recommend Keyway Construction! 5 Stars!

In August had a roof leak denied coverage by Nationwide. Turns out most roofing companies don’t want a repair job when around the corner is a full roof replacement. If they even consider it, the estimate shows that they’d prefer not do it. So, 6 months later, I find Keyway and Bill and Sonya. Finally, a honest, reliable and reasonable roofing company to help me. What a relief to have it fixed! New flashing, a cricket and kick back at gutter. Highly recommend Keyway Construction and Roofing and they will be my only call in the few short years when I qualify for a full roof replacement.

We built a new home in Indian Trail in November of 2015. We heard that Bill at Keyway had high integrity as he fixed a repair for a friend of mine for $100 after another roofing contractor quoted $2,200. We got a beautiful roof and he even put the Chimney Cap on walking up a 40 foot ladder with one hand carrying a shorter ladder to use once he got to the steep roof. Our roof is beautiful, there are no leaks and we were really happy with his crew. Would highly recommend Keyway to anyone.

2021: Bill and his team are great! They installed new handrails, re-sealed wood deck and furniture, painted exterior of the house, removed a rotten bay window, and replaced siding. All of the work was professionally done, and we are very satisfied. Would highly recommend!

10/16/2025 Update: Still a Great Company! As an owner of a few rental properties, Keyway Construction is my go-to for any major repairs and roofing. Bill’s team is highly skilled, conscientious and trustworthy. Keyway can be trusted to deliver a worry free project at a reasonable cost.

Bill at Keyway Construction is a pleasure to work with. He is thorough and does a good job. He has done two "roof tune-ups" for our home over three years and I am very pleased with the work. The final price has always been what was estimated - no surprises. I recommend their services.

TLDR: Keyway has delayed finishing my job for 13 months; despite 10 emails during that time, I can't even get them to commit to a date to finish.

In early August 2023, Bill did 3 projects: a new porch railing, a replacement board on my house, and a new porch step for $2,200. I paid for the job except $100, which Bill said I would pay when he returned a couple of months later to paint those projects (which would complete the job). It took nearly a year and many emails for Bill to come back out to paint. I left a check for the remaining $100 (which he asked me to make out to him personally, not Keyway), then returned home to find that he had only painted the porch railing.

I'm unable to get any kind of commitment when Bill will finish the job. At times, I've been told by his office that painting isn't included with the job (that was after Bill came back out to paint, and I paid him for painting - when I didn't realize he wasn't going to finish painting).

recently chose Keyway to replace the roof on my house and SO glad i did! From beginning to end, it was an excellent experience. Melanie is great! And Bill, nice guy and very knowledgeable. The work crew was professional and fast! Also did a great clean-up job...i wouldn't think of calling anyone else for any roofing needs! Thank you Bill and your crew!

We have had Keyway Construction out to our house several times now doing siding replacement, painting, repairing and replacing trim, painting a deck and also some roofing work. They are highly reliable, show up on time, and do excellent work. I highly recommend them! I recommended them to a friend of mine and they also did very good (roofing) work for them as well.

The first two times I hired this company, was very satisfied with their work and customer service. The third time last year, when I was somewhat desperate for their services around the time crunch of a house under contract, I emailed details as requested per a phone conversation. After no reply, called multiple times and emailed for follow up and was essentially ghosted. Was very surprised as it was inconsistent with prior customer service. Maybe it’s just a typical contractor thing to not reply when not wanting to take a job but I found it very disappointing and unprofessional. Maybe there was a personal emergency or something but would think they would have followed up eventually if so.

Update 10/5/25- Keyway responded to review. Believe I also got a message a while back. Found the email sent to Bill 9/2/24 but maybe the planets aligned and the email and calls went into the void. As above, I was shocked that they didn’t reply but water under the bridge. Changed rating to a 4 to average out my experience as my gut tells me there was nothing intentional and they are nice enough overall. If I need some work going forward, will give these guys another shot.

Bill did a great job repairing soffit and flashing at our home that had rotted after being installed incorrectly. He was prompt and efficient, and was kind enough to clean out our gutters for free while working on the roof. We'd highly recommend Bill and his team for high quality and fair priced work.

This was a good experience from start to finish. Bill and his crew replaced a garage header beam - not an easy job. The quoted price was fair, the work was professionally done, crew was friendly and considerate, clean-up was 100%. I will definitely give Bill and Keyway a call the next time I need work done.

The Keyway crew did an incredible job fixing wood rot on my home and painting our exterior. They did a beautiful job with extreme attention to detail and a focus on getting the work done right. I discovered a significant amount of wood rot around my home's foundation when I was tearing out an existing deck. Wood rot is above my pay grade and I reached out to Keyway to see if they could help. From start to finish, Bill and his team were such a pleasure to deal with. Bill was at my home within 24 hours, explained exactly what went wrong when the original deck was built, and walked me through how he would fix it (and prevent the issue from ever happening again). Bill and team had everything back to better-than-new within just a few days and for a very reasonable price.

I certainly don't want to discover any more rot around my home, but if I do, Keyway will be my first and only call.

This has been my roofer for more than ten years.
The last repair was from a branch from a dead tree had made two wholes in my roof ruining the ceiling below I text Bill and in less then an hour the repair was finished and he was leaving!!!
Praise God for the man of God roofer !!!
