I recently took my rug to get cleaned because after 7 years of use, it needed to be cleaned. Kids and dogs can do some damage. I picked the rug up today. It looks brand new. My wife couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend their services!

Known Robert and Karen for years. Just had carpet and upholstery cleaned at home. On time, courteous technician, job well done, great price. Not much more to say than that. Highly recommend these fine people to you.

Called to get some water damage cleaned up. Things started out great, Mr Pettyjohn had great charm, but I started to get a bad feeling when it seemed like as things were explained, they felt more as a pitch. It was difficult to get an idea on what kind of cost I was getting into, initially it was stated hundreds of dollars and then finally after many request, after everything had been torn apart, I found out it was going to be thousands of dollars. The bulk of the cost was for the rental of fans and dehumidifiers, of which had been left at my residence a whole day without running and causing much inconvenience.

Many of the visits to monitor the moisture were generally beyond 7 pm on weekdays, and the notice was only with in an hour of that visit.

Our carpet was removed from the master closet for cleaning, and I had to make repeated attempts to get it back to my residence. Eventually, after expressing some frustration, the carpet was returned.

I was also referred to Mr. Pettyjohn's friend, who came out and drafted an outrageous quote for the reconstruction effort. This gentleman you can find has give Mr PettyJohn good ratings, as he should, they both seem to work together to take advantage of home owners and their insurance policies.

Lastly, any attempt to talk about what had happened and how I felt we were taken advantage of, had been put off. We planned to meet early in the 3rd week of this whole thing, and I received no contact or response. On the fourth week I reached out, and listed the items here and my disgust with the way things were handled.

To sum things up, Pettyjohn's has been in business for more then 20 years, but our experience was horrible. I would hate to see anyone fall victim to this type of experience as we have. Isn't having water damage enough, but to have someone trying to manipulate you for you hard earned money.

The customer service is awesome! I brought twenty year old car mats to be cleaned and colored. They did a magnificent job! My mats look fresh and newer than I ever thought possible. I'm amazed! Thank you so much!

I would like to take a moment to tell you about the TWO great experiences I’ve had with Petty John’s in Wake Forest, NC. I recently had the carpet redone in my office and I had Katie with Petty John’s give me a quote for placing a protective coating over the carpet. She went through the two different options I had and the pros and cons of each. I had also received a quote from another carpet cleaning company that used scotchgard. I asked about the difference b/w scotchgard and the product they used. Katie told me the differences, but then also sent me articles related to my questions. Did you know scotchgard is linked to cancer?!?!

I had the carpet replaced and protective coating placed on the carpet over the weekend. The smell that I came into on Monday caused me a migraine. I called Petty Johns and the contractors who laid down the carpet and both agreed it was most likely from the carpet glue that was used. Petty John’s went above and beyond and brought over a HUGE HEPA filter and left it in my office for over a week to clean out the smell. They were under no obligation to do this, but they did! They made a customer for life!

Fast Forward one month later and my dog had a huge accident in my office. I called Petty John’s at 11am and they had someone out by 3:30pm that same day to clean up the mess! They thoroughly cleaned everything and it was just like new by the time they left.

I will tell you that they may not be the cheapest, but in my opinion, they are the best! I highly recommend them for your carpet cleaning needs!!

I was impressed by both the professionalism and expertise of Pettyjohn's Rug Care. Mr. Pettyjohn explained the MicroSeal process to me before treating our two new cream-colored sofas. I was impressed with the sealant process-- the spray is non-toxic and there were no strong fumes. It did not change the look or feel of the fabric. Now I can enjoy a cup of coffee while relaxing on the sofa with no worries! Thanks, Robert!

Had tomato based stain on a very expensive new area rug. Called Ethan Allen who sold us the rug and they recommended PettyJohn's. They were quite expensive, but they just returned the rug and the stain is no longer visible. Saved quite a bit of money not having to replace the rug.

From the front office to the gentleman who made my rug look brand new again. This is a very professional business with a team of courteous, helpful people. Pettyjohn's is one of best companys I have ever dealt with. The staff is polite,helppful and prompt.
We thought our large white,wool area rug was ruined after our dog got sick on it. We called Pettyjohns as a last ditch effort because they had cleaned our wall to wall carpet so beautifully.They came immediately to pick up the rug so as to not let the stain settle in. They started working on the rug that day and said they would do their best to save it.We were hopeful but never expected the result we got. It looks like new. Not only did they save our custom designed rug but they delivered it back to us in time for our out of town company.And the guys handled moving the baby grand piano that sat on top of the rug like professionals.Thank you, thank you thank you.

Pettyjohn’s is simply the best in the trade for general rug cleaning/restoration, upholstery cleaning or stain removal. They have extensive knowledge and training which is highly beneficial when working with heirloom or delicate fibers. I don’t trust anyone else. I have used them to remove red wine stains on a chair cushion and rug as well as a pet stain on a hand woven rug. I call them whenever I am in doubt as to how to pre-treat a rug or an upholstery item. Their waiver states they cannot guarantee results however Perryjohn’s has never failed me!

I appreciate Pettyjohn's great service and using environmental supportive techniques. They do so much more than just rugs! While working with a client I accidentally spilled oil on my jeans. I dropped off a small rug and mentioned my jeans and they gave me a product to try and IT WORKED! Anything needing cleaning - give them a try. Need a rug rebound or cut - try Pettyjohns. Need furniture cleaned - yep, I'm calling Pettyjohns!

Regardless of when I call, the folks at Pettyjohns always make me feel as if my needs are the most important of all. The whole experience from start to finish is amazing-the team is knowledgeable, friendly and care greatly about providing me with an exceptional experience each time they come to my home or business. I can't say enough nice things about Pettyjohns from the initial telephone call with a live polite person with knowledge of the service and process I was going to experience to the teamwork to meet my "emergency" needs to the fastidious delivery and reinstallation of my rugs. They were on their hands and knees making sure the rug was perfectly placed and smooth and then even placed my furniture back on it. And all very affordable. Not to mention the cleaning process and out come. I know I sound like a family member but I had never met any of them before...but you would never know it. I sent three more back with them- two extra fragile and one not so much. They are kind, polite, respectful and considerate. Well worth the experience! They are awesome

Pettyjohn's is my usual carpet cleaner. They do an excellent job. Because of their booked calendar, I went with another local cleaner recently and they made my house smell worse than it did before it was cleaned! Pettyjohn's came out as quickly as they could to fix the problem their competitor made. Save yourself some trouble and just go straight to them and wait if you have to. Don't trust just anybody with your house!

I hired Pettyjohns to treat my new oriental rugs with Fiber Protector a few months ago. They were extremely professional and demonstrated a high level of expertise on the product. I hesitated getting the treatment as I just paid for my new rugs and didnt really want to spend more money but after discussing with them, they convinced me of the value. And I am SO HAPPY I listened. One of my dogs threw up on the rug and I didn't see it until the next day when it was partially dried. The vomit basically sat on top of the rug fibers and I was able to easily remove it with no permanent stain. The protector does not change the feel of the rug at all. I highly recommend PettyJohns and the FiberProtector product for your rugs and carpets! Its worth the cost and wish I knew about Pettyjohns years ago.

“No problem” is the response I get no matter what weird stain or water problem I have whenever I call Pettyjohn’s Cleaning and Restoration. Life with a new dog can be very “messy”. The knowledgeable staff at Pettyjohn’s always reassures me that my carpet will be all right… not only cleaned, but sanitized! I’ve also had the “fun” experience of a flood in my office. Again: “No problem” was the answer when they showed up 15 minutes after I called. My soggy office carpet was saved with their super duper vacuum and blowers. I am so thankful I did not have to replace that flooring. It’s worth a trip to their shop to tour their giant run washing machine that uses the collected and filtered rainwater from their 10,000 gallon cistern outside. But who am I kidding…I go there for a laugh hoping the owner, Robert Pettyjohn, is there. He never fails to make a complete silly fuss over me while he teaches about the latest carpet cleaning gadget... No two visits are the same. Fun atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and superior expertise describes my experience every time I hire the Pettyjohns!

I would highly recommend Pettyjohn to anyone needing area rug cleaning. Amy & the service team exceeded my expectations, from the pick up and delivery services, the quick answers to my questions and the excellent condition in which my rugs (wool & synthetic) were returned. The prices may seem high but the value for your money makes it worth the price you pay. I will use Pettyjohn again when I need my area rugs cleaned.
