Katie did a PHENOMENAL job on my vintage, yellow, cotton velvet couch. We had greasy/ashy stains on the couch caused by remodeling work that wasn't well isolated and Katie was able to get every stain out and the couch looks brand new! Truly cannot recommend highly enough!!

I was very pleased that they could offer a same day appointment! Their employee, Jeremi, arrived on time. He did a great job on my rug, even showing concern over spots I could no longer see (so I was already satisfied), and then he cleaned it until HE was satisfied! Not bad to have the service provider be more concerned about quality than the customer! Pettyjohn's price was reasonable, and their staff friendly and knowledgeable. If you have a rug, ask for the price to have it cleaned in your garage or driveway - price is much less than having it taken to their business.

Prior to using Pettyjohn's 4 years ago, I had done business with many of the other carpet cleaning companies in Raleigh. I have stopped doing business with all of them except for Pettyjohn's. Their knowledge of cleaning techniques and fiber care is so greatly superior to everyone else that I have used. I have Stark wool carpets throughout my house in addition to a few frieze carpets and there is no one that can clean carpets like this company. They have cleaned upholstery for me and it always exceeds my expectations. Their personnel are friendly, knowledgeable, incredibly helpful and most importantly, they care. They are not in a rush to get in and out and they always take the time to work on trouble areas to insure that I receive the best results. You are wasting your money if you use anyone else. Ask for David...he is the best!

Katie at Pettyjohn's did a specialty cleaning of two Korean silk table runners my father brought back from Korea in 1953--70 years ago. They were dirty, with stains, and had not been properly stored or cleaned. She did a thorough review, gave me lots of information, we agreed on how to proceed, she explained what she had done and the complications and options for further work--she did a great job. They have great sentimental value for our family and now we are able to display and enjoy them.

My dog vomited on my couch and I called Pettyjohns and Katie came and saved the day. She was professional and courteous in my home, the couch looks and smells amazing after she did her expert cleaning! I will definitely use them again!

Pettyjohn's removed a large red wine stain from our brand new sofa cushion. When we dropped off the cushion they thoroughly explained their cleaning and fabric protection process. They gave us the costs for the cleaning, the protective spray, and treating the rest of the sofa - very transparent and worth the cost. The work was done in the time frame that worked best for us. We felt like they went above and beyond to accommodate us.

Pettyjohn's is a top rate company. We have used them several times and are always pleased with the way the job gets done and the prices. They are an EXTREMELY reliable company with an excellent staff. Robert, Amy and the rest of the staff are the nicest people you will ever meet. I recommend them to anyone who needs carpet or fabric cleaning!!!

Amy, Katie, Andrew and the crew are phenomenal people. Not only are they good at what they do, they take pride in what they do. My elderly father has incontinence and had more than a few accidents on my car's driver side seat. Everyone I called quoted me a low price and then said this was a battle I'd be fighting for a long time. No one could guarantee they'd be able to remove the smell.

Somehow while googling I found Pettyjohns and decided to call them. I spoke to Katie and then Amy who quoted what sounded like an expensive price. But I figure you get what you pay for and their website guaranteed their work. I am so beyond glad I went to see them. Not only did they get the smell out, but they also discovered the urine was eating away at the cotton fibers in the seat and it was about to snap. They took the time to stitch this back together and save me an extremely costly and difficult repair. And they didn't charge me anything extra for it either. They also gave me excellent advice on how to prevent this from occurring again without embarrassing my dad.

Like I said, they take pride in their work.

On top of all this, they are just very *nice* people. This family owned business has just earned another customer for life. I look forward to working with them again!

We used Pettyjohn’s carpet cleaning service five years ago before placing our home for sale. Their attention to details, professional service, excellent cleaning techniques were impressive. Recently I had them tackle several rooms, hall and stairs. The carpet is a light color that showed the results of children, water damage, and a rust spot. Again, their knowledge and skill produced carpet we can enjoy for a few more years. Also, they give you a complete quote for services before they begin and this is what you pay when the job is completed. Thank you, Pettyjohn’s.

I researched quite a bit to find a place that could professionally clean my Oriental rugs. They were very dirty after years of wear and tear and I doubted they would ever get entirely clean, but I gave Pettyjohn’s a shot! They did not disappoint! They managed to bring the rugs back to their original beauty, which was no easy feat! The staff did a great job of explaining the process and it was quickly clear they take their job seriously. I would highly recommend Pettyjohn’s if you have rugs or furniture you truly care about and want to bring back to their original state of beauty!!

Pettyjohn's did an outstanding job cleaning two ivory colored Ethan Allen chair cushions and arm protectors. I had botched a do-it-yourself cleaning job, but now thanks to Katie at Pettyjohn's they are like new again. Their staff was professional, friendly and helpful, and their price was very reasonable. I can highly recommend.

Hands down an AMAZING company. From the customer service side of things to the actual cleaning of the upholstery it was professional, quick, and affordable. They had excellent communication from start to finish and were able to restore two chairs that were badly stained. They came back looking brand new with no stains or odor. I would highly recommend this company to anyone thinking they need to replace a furniture item because it cannot be saved. I don't know how they did it (because I tried myself); so thankful to have been referred to Pettyjohn's!!!!

Absolutely amazing job, exceeded my expectations.

We have a 5 year old synthetic Ben Soleimani rug. It was in pretty rough shape due to pet stains and traffic patterns.

All stains we were removed, all smells gone, a lot of texture returned from traffic patterns, and just overall clean feeling.

The cost was also very reasonable, and the communication from Amy was always very prompt.

We have used Pettyjohn's twice now. They are EXTREMELY courteous, responsive, and truly do a magnificent job on the carpets. Amy, who schedules the appointments is so kind and will do whatever she can to meet your needs and never makes you feel like you are a bother. The staff that comes to clean the carpets is very knowledgable, fair, and will work diligently to remove stains. They are prompt and work efficiently. They are not the cheapest company but you get what you pay for and they do exceptional work, so they are worth the price.

I love old rugs. I purchased a worn 1920s Mahal this past summer and my dogs decided to pee all over it to make it theirs. I found a recommendation for Pettyjohn’s on a website dedicated to the proper cleaning of old wool rugs. I called them and they helped me understand the process that would need to be done to get them clean and smell-free. I picked up the rug yesterday and it looks amazing and doesn’t have any of dog odor left! I will happily drive the hour each way in the future to have them care for my treasured Persian rugs.

Took my rug to Pettyjohn’s after we lost our sweet Wrigley of 16 years. After years of wear, tear, doggie accidents, and lots of in and out/dirt/mud, it was trash it or see if we can salvage it. Seeing the before made me realize how badly it needed to be cleaned. They did the most amazing job! I was amazed at how clean and stain free this rug was. It looked brand new. Highly recommend!!! It was worth every penny. Great service, nice staff, convenient location.

I had a great experience with Pettyjohn's. I purchased a vintage oriental carpet at an antique store and wanted it cleaned before I put it in my home. The store recommended Pettyjohn's for this type of rug.
When I dropped the rug off, I had the opportunity to meet Robert, the owner. He is very charismatic and gave me a tour of the facility. I felt like I was on an elementary school field trip - it was great. He explained what each of the machines did and that they try to be as green as possible - there is a cistern to collect rain water! They not only clean rugs and carpets, but also sofa cushions and other upholstery items.
My rug was ready before the original date they had provided. All of the people that work at Pettyjohn's are very friendly and professional. They seem to take a lot of pride in their work and their reputation. I would definitely use Pettyjohn's again the future.

Dropped off my Karastan area rug to be cleaned for the first time since I bought it, (2002). When I picked it up the staff was so accommodating with all my questions, I was in the back watching them clean a rug meticulously and wanted to know why certain areas required different chemicals and they were eager to answer.

I was in the process of redecorating a small living area in my home. My area rug which is 7 years old, had never been cleaned. I took it to PettyJohns to have it restored. The people there were soo sweet and friendly. It was my first time using their services, but they made me feel like i had known them for years. I was delighted that they were knowledgeable enough to offer me a new rug pad which I hadn’t thought of. My rug was ready when they said it would be, and it was super clean and plush when I got it back. I am well pleased and highly recommend that you check them out!

We had our living room rug cleaned and resized by Pettyjohns. The pricing was reasonable, and we are so happy with the results! They were very easy to work with, did free pick up and delivery and the delivery team even helped us place the rug and trim our rug pad. Very impressed and would highly recommend!
