Chad, the project manager was very nice, but some of the subcontractor work was sub par and had to be fixed later. I would recommend then for building a deck, but I would not recommend then for any water features.

Let me save you the time if you are looking for hardscaping to be done. The website states that they do everything but swimming pools and clearly lists stone walls. We called to get a quote on installing a few retaining walls for our backyard. We were told they don't do this unless installing a patio. ??? Apparently "creative" only refers to their embellished website.

The CE team was thorough with their design revisions and communicated well throughout the process. The quality of our deck and patio is excellent. I couldn't be happier with the result.

I hired them based on all the 5 star reviews online, and this deck & fence project was a disappointing frustrating mess. I do not recommend using Creative Earthscapes for any of your home projects.

Creative Earthscapes did a fantastic job! The entire team was wonderful to work with; from design and planning to customer service and contractors, Creative Earthscapes went above and beyond in nearly all capacities.

A perfect example of their extraordinary customer service; a somewhat minor issue came up a few months after the project was completed. Creative Earthscapes immediately (same day I emailed them), responded and starting handling the issue. Within a few days, the owner himself came over - at no request to us.

Chad took time out of day to meet with me and explain why we had a small issue. He then discussed how he would be able to fix it for us. Chad was certainly under no obligation to help us correct the issue, yet so kindly offered.

Creative Earthscapes takes great pride in the craftsmanship. Chad and his team took the initiative to immediately help us with any concern or question we had during and after the project.

For our project we choice the TimberTech Edge. We opted for the standard aluminum spindles with wood railings. It turned out beautiful.

The office manager Lisa, and the project manager, Kelly, are exceptional to work with! They both go out of their way to make sure everyone is happy; Creative Earthscapes are second to none!

We would certainly recommend Creative Earthscapes, and we have, to all Family and Friends! They will always be our first call for any project in the future as well.

We couldn’t be more happy with our deck and patio! I was amazed with how Chad was able to make my vision come to life. The team of employees that worked on our project were excellent, it was obvious that they truly love what they do. We have had so many compliments from family, friends and neighbors. We even were even able to refer our neighbor to have their patio completed. I highly recommend Creative Earthscapes!

We love our new deck and patio! This was a big job and they tackled it with professionalism and ease. Communication was quick and clear throughout the entire process and the project manager, Brett, was a gem to work with. We are very happy and would highly recommend Creative Earthscapes.

We completed a very large multi-level deck and 3 season room in the last year. We are quite happy with the finished product, but there were times when communication was lacking, and the job took much longer (by many months) than the estimated timeframe given. We were very pleased with the price tag (lower than competitors, and with better products), and despite some design changes that had to be made along the way, the price was never increased and was exactly what we had agreed to. I would hire Creative Earthscapes again, just knowing that the project will take awhile!

Chad and his team designed and built a spectacular new patio and deck for our home. They were polite, conscientious, and efficient -- just a joy to work with, which is particularly valuable in an industry where delays and shoddy work often occur. Out of all the contractors I interviewed for a retaining wall and screened porch, Creative Earthscapes was the most reasonable in price and made me feel the most at ease about going into contract with.
Chad presented realistic expectations, suggestions and just made the most sense during the estimate process.
The team took care of permits as well as HOA approval. Everyone was communicative and made themselves available when needed.
Chad and the sub contractors were very accommodating during the project whenever I wanted to make adjustments.
Everyone collaborated well to bring what I envisioned to life.
I have been enjoying the porch every day (weather permitting) and it’s my favorite place to relax.
The retaining wall helps puts my mind at ease by making my backyard safe and usable for my child.

We had a fantastic experience with Creative Earthscapes. They are professional, responsive, and the quality and workmanship is outstanding. They don't cut corners, they listen to your needs, and they can help you design your perfect space. From the beginning of the process to the end, we got immediate (same day) responses to all of our questions. When we were concerned about letting our dogs out in the winter, they put in temporary steps as they were building our deck so that the dogs could still go out back. When we didn't like how low the fan was, they put in a smaller downrod. If we needed something picked up from the house or moved, they were there the same day. It's truly a great company. And I truly believe you get what you pay for. Our neighbor is also a builder and he mentioned that he took note of the techniques that were used and the build process and was impressed with the attention to detail and care provided.
No one is perfect, so some things that may help to be aware of:
* we thought that we'd pay a deposit and then the remainder at the end of the project. We were surprised when we would get a day-of email asking for the next payment amount (especially the first time.) I think a payment schedule of some sort up front would be helpful (even if it's "when this portion is finished, x amount will be owed) so that the homeowner is aware. Of course it makes sense to pay along the way, we just had never done that before.
* they were able to start over a month ahead of schedule but we didn't know that until lines were drawn in our yard by the electric company- when we reached out they shared that they were starting the following week. This was great news, but it also meant our first payment was due over a month before we were expecting to pay. Again, not a huge deal but something to be aware of.
Again, I can't say enough good things about the people or the process. This is a well-run business and I'm so glad we chose them to do this work.

We hired CE to build our deck, outdoor kitchen, and pergola. We communicated our vision for a contemporary look to our outdoor structure.
While CE’s pergolas are nice, they did not fit our contemporary vision. We ultimately selected a Pergolux brand pergola and opted to have their preferred installer install it since having them install it increased the length of the warranty and was less expensive than having CE install it.

Since CE was not doing the entire job, we were told we needed to act as the general contractor. That entailed hiring a separate excavating crew to remove the existing patio, clear the yard, and remove the trees. We hired the pergola installer, electrician and plumbers. We also took care of the applications for all Building and Zoning permits and scheduling of all inspections.

CE’s office team reviewed the permits and helped make certain everything was included and properly worded.

The pergola delivery was delayed which frustrated all of us. The deck construction slowed down since there was no rush to get the deck ready for the pergola installation. CE's people showed up in our backyard randomly during the day with no notice or even ringing the bell to let us know they were entering our backyard. Communication regarding the comings and goings at our home was severely lacking during the entire project. That was quite unnerving and it felt invasive.

The crew left a pile of construction trash in our backyard most of the summer. We continued to find screws in the yard despite the assertion on their website that they "ensure your yard is carefully protected during the construction process".

During the construction, some gashes were made in a couple of the Timbertech deck boards. It was mentioned to the people working for CE at the time. We don’t know if that information was passed up the chain but they were never repaired. The owner of the company, who initially had been fairly hands-on never came back to inspect the final product so the damaged boards never got replaced or repaired

Overall, the quality of the workmanship of the deck itself was good. Our perception was that once the owner of Creative Earthscapes realized we were not going to use him for every aspect of the project he lost interest. The subsequent lack of communication made for a less-than-perfect project.

Creative Earthscapes exceeded our expectations. First, the customer service was exceptional. We felt like we were their top client. Chad and Lisa provided timely communications whenever we had questions or they had an update. Second, the price of the services was competitive and reasonable. Third, even after our project was completed, Chad was accessible and provided additional services at no cost. We recommended them to several of our neighbors. We will certainly be using CE again in the future!
