Plumbing reviews in Columbus, Ohio

Professional, courteous, and was able to come within 24 hours of booking an appointment. Will definitely use again.
-
Amazing! They came out in the same day to help our company! Expedited completion with open communication! 10/10 recommend 5 stars!

Rick came out on short notice Friday afternoon and got our plumbing up to code so the city could inspect the line and install a new meter. When the city was unable to fix the issue (blocked pipe from construction they were doing) Rick came back out on Saturday and was able to repair the line and get our water running again.

Bad business. paid them to unclog main line, they broke it. they still charged is and gave estimate to repair their damage, we agreed and set appointment, they never showed and will not answer phone. We're out the money and still have a damaged line. Contacted the prosecutor's office and they said someone else had filed suit against this person the day before and ours will be held until the other case gets moving. I do not recommend!

In my opinion, any place that leaves you setting all day for an appointment that they scheduled with you is unprofessional. Damaging pipes and still charging without fixing them is even worse. But offering to pay him to fix the pipe he broke, and he still doesn't show, well, I'll let the public decide. It's my opinion that the customer should beware. One reviewer stated they lost their home over this company!

First off Rick advertises himself as a 24/7 service which is not true. He will come out and inspect the problem within 24 hours yes, but he’ll charge you a deposit, set up an appointment to come repair at a later date, then never show up or call. He never showed up the day he scheduled himself to come repair!! I’ve tried contacting him for the last three days and have yet to hear from him. His phone just keeps going directly to voicemail. He did email an invoice in which the math did not make sense or add up. He put on the invoice that I still owe him a deposit when I paid it the day he was here. The pictures reflect what he left my ceiling looking like when he ripped it away to get to the pipes that needed repaired. He is just extremely unprofessional and would not recommend him to anyone. Please steer clear!!!

If I could give less than one star I would. Terrible customer service and the lady on the phone who called to schedule was completely rude. I was like ummmm how can you be so mean and short with me on our first interaction? TO SCHEDULE!
so she scheduled and told me that they would arrive between 4pm and 6pm and that the technician would call me on their way to my house. Cool!
So 4pm rolls around and I decide to leave work just to beat them to my house. I get a phone call right then that says they are at my house. I explained that I was supposed to get a phone call when they were en route and I would leave work then. He said to me "well we are usually very punctual" ok? But I was instructed I would get a phone call. ANYWAY! I said "I am on my way home I will be there in 20min will that be a problem?" And he said "no we will wait"
Pulled in the driveway exactly 20 minutes later and they were gone.
THANKS CALHOUN! STELLAR SERVICE! and now I get to live with my really bad issue until I can get a better company to come out. I'm not happy right now. -
Austin from Calhoun came out to my house this morning to remove a large root plug from an underground storm drain that was backing up my sump pump well. He and his partner did a great job!
-
I always have a great experience with Calhoun! They are always the first plumbing company I call when I have a problem with my home or rental properties. Highly recommend them - professional and super easy to work with!

We just had our sewer to the street pipe cleaned and I was impressed by the info and courtesy of the two guys, John and Tony, who did a great job. We will definitely use Calhoun for any future problems.

I will never use this company again just base off the customer service I have received this morning. I had a unit installed just a couple of years ago that no longer works. I called for info on the warranty and the woman who answered the phone was VERY stand off-ish as though my call was annoying her. I then called back a second time to ask for a serial number as I’m unable to see it due to the way it’s installed. She suggested I get under the sink, clear it out and find it. Stating they don’t keep record. Well mam not everyone has the capability some of us have disabilities which is why I would hope a company like your own would keep track. Now I’m stuck with a non working disposal and no way to have it fixed.

John and Cassell (sp.) were respectful, pleasant, and hard-working. They knew what they were doing and resolved our clog. I would not hesitate to call on them for any plumbing problem in the future!!!

*I gave 1-star because he did show up.
I am a ♿ed Veteran of 2-wars. I served during Operation Desert Storm 1991& Operation Enduring Freedom 2011-2012.
I have been trying to use the VA HISA Grant to repair my bathroom and their staff Estimate Master Plumber Tommy has on (2) seperate visits to my home failed to provide me with a written estimate. I believe it is because he wants to meet directly with the VA staff that oversees the Grant program so that he can have direct access to "the Goose that lays the golden 💰". I have had to apply for this Grant now 4-times due to my declining health.
I will be making a report to the local authorities. Because, of his deceitful business practices. I can't move forward with my repairs unless I have an accurate estimate that addressed underlying plumbing issues and any other recommendations that can be validated by health and safety needs.
I must now start over which means requesting a medical referral from my primary care provider at the VA. I have two surgeries scheduled this month and early spring. I was awarded the maximum Grant amount. Calhoun Plumbing advertise online as being a Veteran friendly business but that has not been my experience when dealing with Tommy.
I went online just to see if there was any chance that Tommy was right about having to speak directly with the VA Grant coordinator. So, I spoke to the person listed on my application packet after he left. I also performed a Google search concerning the VA HISA grant. Tommy was wrong and after dealing with him on 2-seperate ocasions for the same issue. I was more depressed, frustrated and I even felt hated and humiliated. Because, he came into my home on false pretenses. His real motive was to make business connections with the VA in order to score profits and brownie points with the Owner of Calhoun Plumbing.
Tommy’s motives lost the company thousands of dollars. The Company has placed way too much power in this man's hands. I can clearly see who is running things at Calhoun Plumbing. No employee or Business is above the Law. I simply scheduled for him to provide me with an estimate. However, once I told him about the VA Grant application process and that my deadline had been extended to accommodate his estimate it was like my previous experience with him.
The fact is that I became invisible to him. Women and minorities don’t like being treated as invisible and what they have to say doesn’t count and that’s how I felt when he emailed me back requesting the VA staff members contact information. I missed my deadline and once again Tommy became the “gatekeeper” preventing me from turning in my application for the Grant to repair my bathroom. The basis for the Grant is Medical necessity just like a referral to physical therapy, medication or surgery. The fact that Tommy is out doing this to clients is inexcusable the same as if I take a medical prescription to the pharmacy. A pharmacist will only consult with the doctor if there is something wrong with the prescription. I know because that was my job both military & civilian.
Someone at Calhoun Plumbing needs to reign him in and there needs to be more accountability for the appointments that he is going out on representing Calhoun Plumbing starting with him corresponding with clients using his personal email. Calhoun Plumbing needs to match the emails & any written estimates up with the appointments scheduler. Calhoun Plumbing needs to set up a business email so there is oversight. As I stated I will be making a report with pictures of the condition that he left me in for that past 2-years. The VA HISA grant is only approved based on the Veterans Service Connected disability which means I qualify due to combat related injuries.
So, thanks Calhoun Plumbing you will be hearing from the authorities. I am going to make it a priority. Because I have a feeling that I am not the only customer that has been treated in this manner.
Truthfully,

My review of this company has *magically* disappeared. But for the sake of home owner’s sanity do not use this company. They were called out to unclog a bathroom sink. During their work they disconnected the shower drain causing water damage to the two lower levels of our home. They refused to remedy any of the thousands of dollars worth of damage they caused or even return to reconnect the shower drain. No one would return my calls after I reported the issue. Ultimately had to bring in homeowners insurance to fix all the damage they caused. Hands down worst service interaction in 10+ years of home ownership.

I made an appointment and met with a gentleman at my house for an issue that was found during inspection of the home I just purchased. He looked over everything and told me how long he had been at this and what they found was wrong, and it was worse than I had thought. He told me he had to get ahold of the city to see where my pipes were underground and that he would shoot me a message in a couple of days..... It's been a week and a half. So yeah, I'm going to find another company to work with, and if you choose to use them, good luck.

My hot water heater was replaced in a timely manner. Repair persons were were polite and explained everything. The cost was reasonable and less than another plumber I had previously used.

I had a drain pipe that was clogged. Calhoun said they would be there between 8 and 10. They never came until after I called to remind them. After the tech arrived he couldn't get the job done, said he needed some additional tools to remove the sink in order to get to the pipe. He said he could stop over the next day. Next day came and went with no show from the tech nor any phone call. I called to see what's up. The person at the office said the tech would be there the following day between 8 and 10. Again, no show, no call. I guess the tech didn't know how to fix it. A waste of three days. Poor customer service.

This company is used by IGS home warranty. I had water leak at my indoor shutoff valve and they were sent out. After assessing the issue, I was informed that they didn’t have the required parts on their truck and would be back the next day. When I called the next morning to see what time to expect them, they immediately got agitated and told me I wasn’t even on their schedule and it would be impossible for them to come. The phone representative was extreme rude during the conversation. After this experience and then reading other reviews for this company, I went back to IGS, told them of my experience and lack of confidence that Calhoun could do the job timely and properly and requested a different vendor. If you need immediate assistance and want a professional experience, I would not use this company. When IGS called to cancel my job with them, they were treated with the same level of disrespect as I was.

Had issues with 2 sinks and a toilet. Were fixed in an hour, which is way quicker than when we used other plumbing services. Clayton and Johnny were very polite and way more transparent about what we were being charged for.

I called Calhoun Plumbing to replace my toilet shut off valve and reseat the toilet. They were able to work around my busy schedule and be at my house the next day.
The work was not straight forward, as my house was built 120 years ago and has uneven floors and a low ceiling in the basement, but the two plumbers that arrived quickly assessed the situation and fixed both issues within an hour. Cost was reasonable and both wore masks and gloves the whole time to be sensitive to the pandemic restrictions. I recommend them to homeowners on the southside! -
Fantastic experience! Called on a Wednesday and they had someone out the next day. Was able to get my issue fixed in 45 minutes and answered all my questions. Very reasonably priced as well. Will definitely use again!
