On July 1, 2019, I hired Special Touch Cleaners to clean our carpets (living room, dining room, family room and six steps) in our newly purchased empty house. This was new carpet installed in May 2019, in which the previous owners had one small dog. There was not any smell or stains present on this new carpet prior to the cleaning. The employee that showed up to clean was there under a total of 30 minutes, was very unprofessional-looking with his pants sagging, and used an old, tiny carpet cleaning machine that looked like something we owned. Days later we noticed a "dirty sock" stench coming from the new carpet they had just cleaned. The empty house we had not yet moved into smelled PUTRID!!! I immediately called Special Touch to report the issue, and they blamed it on the prior dog and prior "pet odors" coming out of the carpet since it had been cleaned. I told her this was new carpet and there were no prior odors or stains, and this stench was due to oversaturation! They offered to come back out to re-clean and I reluctantly re-scheduled a tentative appointment for the following week, but after discussing the issue with my husband, we decided against having them come back out and cause more damage, so we cancelled the second appointment. Today, on July 24, 2019, I called the Office Manager and requested a refund of $117.43 (total amount paid) due to the stench still being in my new home, and us having to contact another company to come properly clean our new carpeting (if it's not already ruined!). She told me that they do not issue refunds. I asked where does it state that, and where did I sign anything agreeing to no refunds? She said on the bottom of the invoice, it says if the job is not done the first time, they will make it right; I told her that is not the same as agreeing to "No Refunds", and she said no where did it state they would ever give a refund if not satisfied. I would have never hired this company if I would have known they would have possibly ruined my new carpeting in my new house - we may now have to replace the carpeting because the stench is not coming out due to oversaturation! I filed a complaint with the BBB and they still are refusing a refund! BEWARE!!!!!!!!! Horrible customer service, and no where did they state there are NO REFUNDS, so they clearly need to brush up on their understanding of the law! PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not very impressed with the work I just had done although they came quickly and the work was done in under an hour. A spot or two was removed but there are still some that I thought would have come up, was was hoping for a more thorough cleaning. Steam clean might have been better but he didn't have the ability to do so due to of an outlet situation which I feel like as a cleaning company he should have been more prepared for. Spare room still smells the same, again was just hoping for a better clean from a professional company. Wish I would have read reviews prior to spending the money on this feel like I could have done the same quality myself. Will probably go with someone who is prepared to steam clean my carpets next time.

Call me impressed! Honestly, at first, I was expecting the technician to arrive in a steam cleaning van / truck. Having owned other janitorial companies, I've experienced other 'dry' cleaning methods & I wasn't happy with any of them.

I've also seen how customers can have completely unrealistic expectations when it comes to their service(s).

That being said, our technician was right on time as scheduled & asked about our expectations and the age of the carpeting. He mentioned that a few spots may 'wick back' over a few days. He was here what I thought was a reasonable time for the work he did & the place smelled great when he left. He got spots, ( Ink & lipstick ), out of the carpeting that I wasn't expecting to come out. As predicted, those spots did wick back, but they are barely noticeable.

My expectations were definitely exceeded and I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family and I plan on calling them the next time.

The cleaning professionals were courteous and on time. It should be noted that this is not a carpet steam cleaning company that I am aware of. My wife was expecting an extraction. For what I paid I feel they did a fair job. Would definitely use again if I was not attempting to clean dog pee from my carpets. My carpets look fantastic as the device they use takes the matting out of the carpeting and makes it look new again. For people trying to sell their home, this would be a fantastic service to use as it would renew and rejuvenate that old looking carpet. Also would not break the bank or saturate the pad.

Unfortunately with carpet cleaning, you don’t notice the negative issues until later. First, I noticed the tech was in a BIG hurry. He cleaned the living room, large dining room, bedroom, stairs, hallway, and two area rugs. It took him about 30 minutes. And that included moving a couch, recliner, coffee table, and 2 end tables. My carpet looked no different than before. Second, there was no deodorizer scent whatsoever (during or after) even as he was spraying the carpet with the solution. He said there was deodorizer in the cleaning solution but it certainly didn’t smell like it. In fact, that cleaning left a horrible smell that can only be described as ashes and feet. I read other reviews that had the same complaint. Deodorizer would have been a nice touch. Third, he said it would take 4 hrs to dry. It dried in less time than he was at my house. That’s probably because he never changed the water for all those filthy areas. One little tank. It looked like it was about 3 gallons. Needless to say, we won’t use their services again. I wasted my money, and I’m sorry that I gave him a big tip.

I thought this was a legit steam cleaning company. Website shows the steam cleaner I expected to see and have seen with others. But the guy showed up with one of those carpet cleaners you can rent at Marc's. He zipped through 3 rooms in about 30 minutes and left. But not before literally blowing out one of my outlets and all the lights in 2 rooms with the machine. Had to call an electrician to fix it. The electrician said he should have used the service outlet. If I didn't have a Home Warranty, I'd consider a lawsuit.
On top of that, he missed an entire section of carpet. Don't hire this company.

Stay away from this company. The young black guy that works there showed up to clean my carpet. Used soap extractor they called it. When he came to me to say he was done I said what do you mean you're done I wanted a steam cleaning and he said that they don't do that. He lied about having a steam cleaner in his van and then left without finishing the job and left soap all over my carpet. The operator at their business the woman sounds like she is drunk I would not trust these people in your home they are very strange people I had to call a different company stay away

My previous carpet cleaner retired. Glad i found these guys, it's been a great experience working special touch - better than my original guy. I plan on calling them back for my spring cleaning.
