After getting 3 quotes, I chose S&S heating & air conditioning located in Hinckley twp. That was based on previous owner references and their BBB standing.
They arrived on the prearranged date with a full crew. I was greeted by Mark the foreman and the crew went to work in an orderly fashion.
Approximately five hours later the work was completed. I was handed the Trane paperwork and asked if I had questions. The crew cleaned up leaving no cardboard or trash behind.
The owner of S&S stopped by and inspected the work and asked

This result was a new Trane air conditioner installed by a knowledgeable crew at an acceptable price. I highly recommend them.

Furnace and AC installed and working great! The guys were efficient and installed both quickly. Answered all questions and will definitely recommend to anyone needing HVAC service.

Mark and his entire team at S&S are extremely knowledgeable and professional, recommending the most appropriate equipment for our home (not the most expensive) while treating us like family. The installers did a great job and took the time to do quality work and answer all of our questions along the way. They say that the installation is just as important as or even more important than the equipment but luckily with S&S you get both – top of the line equipment (Trane) and a high quality installation at a very reasonable price.

Used S&S for a new ac install (2 units) at our business and was pleased with the work. They were able to come out on short notice when other firms were weeks out and replace two rooftop units in the heat of the summer and retrofit the existing heat pumps to the new coils and save us money. I also had S&S diagnosis an issue with my aunt's furnace where another company walked away without even checking the system. The owner Mark and tech Zach, really made sure both jobs were performed to our expectations.

He was so courteous, professional and knowledgeable in his task to resolve my no heat issue. I’ve dealt with many other companies that say what they are not. Ricky, Lennord and Matt did a great job installing my new Trane furnace & air conditioning. Also installed a cold air return and straightened some ductwork that had been installed poorly by someone else. Everything is working great and looks good. Mark the owner came to our house several times because we had some questions. Very competitive on pricing and a great experience working with S&S. Thanks Guys!

AC went out and called them, they came out and recommended a new condenser (the current one was 15 years old) so I new I needed a new one. Actually came out the next day and installed a new one. Workers were spot on, no mess and by the afternoon I had a cool house on an 87 degree day. I could not have been happier. Highly reccomend them.

S&S Heating and Cooling responded quickly to our call of A/C malfunction and discovered commpresor was not working we decided to replace whole unit as it was 12 yrs old and unfortunely for us was one day past warranty. The owner Mark was on vacation in Florida and personally called us and explained everything to us and ordered new unit and installed it in four days we are completely satisfied and would highly recomend this company

They were the only estimate to use the warranty on the heat exchanger and were able to repair for just the install cost saving us money from the first estimate. The home owner at 88 needed a quick turn around as the nights were cold and they were able to have the unit delivered the next day with their team completing the same day. S&S Heating is a family operated business that brings a personal touch to your situation.

They did an amazing job installing my new 2.5 ton Trane AC unit. Mark SR. came out and looked over my very old unit and worked me up a cost and a plan to install a new unit. He was so nice and respectful. We agreed on a new Trane, and the install was scheduled about a week out. The crew that came out to install did an amazing job. When I came home after the install, I couldn't even tell they were there. They cleaned up everything and now I have a sleek brand new working unit, professionally installed. These guys know what they are doing and are very nice and respectful and treat your house, as if it was theirs.

My dad Gary just had them come to his house and install a new ac unit, furnace, and all new duct work. He is extremely happy with the work. So happy that we are having them come out to our business to get the ac unit done next.

Seriously. I can't thank you guys enough. You have a customer for life and I would give you 10 stars if I could.

One word to describe S&S Heating and Cooling is Awesome…. It was November when I called and needed new furnace and they were quick to respond and very reasonable and most of all the customer service we received was phenomenal !!!

- This work was being done under a home warranty that was denied since the owner told them the motor was incorrectly installed which caused the wires connected to the blower motor to be pinched and stop working. These wires are part of the blower motor assembly and the owner is saying the blower motor was fine, and didn't need to be replaced even though the technician told me there was an issue installing the part he brought out. When he completed the work, he said he wrapped it with tape to reduce the movement of the mower from happening again.

Here is the Technician write-up on my invoice which never states anything about improper installation of the blower motor:

"Found wires blower motor wires pinched between the motor and the motor mount(see attached photo). This had cut
through the high speed and the low speed wires. Was able to repair the damaged wires. Verified normal operation."

- Friendly and experienced technician was able to fix my furnace blower motor when the part that was brought was not correct
- Knowledgeable owner who spent time discussing my HVAC concerns while also providing an on the spot quote for a new system
- Every time I called their number, Chrissy picked up the phone and assisted. She was always respectful and was simply doing her job as I would expect.

- Technician was 45 minutes late. Never called to say they were running late. I called 20 minutes after they were supposed to show up, and Chrissy told me he was trying to pickup the part.
- When the technician found the bracket for the blower motor wouldn't work with the new blower motor, he decided to start fixing the existing blower motor. When I came down to see how things were going, he was already taking the new blower motor apart. I would have rather he stopped and let me know the situation before moving forward with the work. I would think the company is responsible for confirming the correct part since they are experienced in HVAC repair.
- The owner said they could simply replace the blower motor on my furnace based on another company's diagnostic that pointed to it being an issue. While he was at my home, he agreed it's most likely the blower motor based on his own observation. I told him my apprehension about having another company replace the blower motor because most companies want to run their own diagnostic first. He didn't seem concerned, and said he said they could replace it with a generic blower motor which I was fine with. This was being done under a home warranty and they already saw the diagnostic as completed and wouldn't pay for a second diagnostic, but did approve the blower motor replacement. When the work was completed I was charged for a diagnostic and 2 hours of labor time. The technician was at my home exactly 2 hours which is fair, but the additional diagnostic charge does not make sense. It was already known the blower motor was the issue. This was simply a call to replace the part. The technician chose to fix it based on the part that was brought would not fit as planned. The owner said the diagnostic fee will stand. He did not care to reach out to talk about it, but had Chrissy let me know instead.
- The technician fixed the blower motor on top of my 3 week old freezer that was next to my furnace. This left multiple dents which is simply not right. When he asked to borrow a hammer, I didn't think anything of it, but now realize that the hammering was happening on top of the freezer. When you have someone coming to your home to fix something, you figure they will be mindful of the rest of your belongings.

I had additional vent work I was going to do based on the owner's recommendation, but based on this experience I decided to cancel the appointment. I am always happy to recommend good contractors to my friends, family, and neighbors, but I wouldn't feel comfortable doing so based on this situation.

We moved into a new house in February and could not assess the A/C system in lieu of cold weather. We recently had the crew from S & S out to service the system at which time we found that it was non-operational and in need of replacement. Additionally the furnace was serviced, was operating correctly, however, because of its age we decided to replace it as well. Last week a new A/C unit and furnace were installed and just in time for this week's hot weather! The S&S staff arrived on time, did a very nice job with the install and left my basement as clean as was found upon their arrival. I would recommend this company for any of your HVAC needs.

We compared several companies to replace our AC and Furnace. Three of our neighbors referred us to S&S because they had their units replaced by them and were extremely happy with their professionalism, services and products.
S&S Heating and Cooling offered the best for the least! We are so impressed with their efficiency, courtesy, and their quality workmanship! The Trane products they installed are superb! The owner has kept in touch both personally and on the phone to be sure we were getting the best of everything. We were so impressed with their excellent service products and would HIGHLY recommend them!

Mark, Zach, Frank, Chrissy, Gayle and the entire install team were great. Our AC went down right before the big heat wave. I had family coming into town and they came out within an hour. They were able to get my old system working again while waiting for the new unit to arrive.

Installation team was quick and efficient, and the new unit is cranking away.

We had a great experience with S&S when having our AC, furnace, and hot water tank replaced. We appreciated Mark taking the time to look at our past unit(s) and went over his recommendations that would best fit our home - he took the time to answer all of our (many) questions. The gentlemen working the job were polite, on task, and hard working. Our experience was two thumbs up!! I'd recommend them!

S & S installed a furnace in our home in October of this year. We contacted several companies for quotes and after reviewing them all, we decided to have S & S do the installation. We couldn't be happier with the results! Mark recommended a 2-stage furnace and what great advice... a big difference in relation to our previous furnace. Everything about our experience was top notch from the initial contact to the job clean up. Everything they said they would do, they did!
