You’re not going to find anyone better than Jacob and his hardworking crew. First off, Jacob will be there overseeing everything from start to finish. So I always knew I was in good hands. Jacob is easy to communicate with and a great person (our young kids have grown to love Jacob). We’ve used Guru construction for two of our properties now. They’ve done amazing concrete work, demo work and landscaping jobs. Very skilled at all. We needed the area around our pool done, a driveway, a back patio and steps as well as clearing trees and land for landscaping projects. Highly trusted, skilled and prompt!

We had Jacob and his team replace 14 broken/sunken driveway squares that were causing a lot of water issues around the house foundation and garage. They worked quickly to remedy the situation and ensured the driveway had the correct slope so it could drain as intended.

In addition to the driveway replacement, we also had Jacob and his team lay a new patio (pictured). Initially, we wanted a concrete slab patio, but the city would not allow it (we were over our 'hard surface' allotment). It was an unfortunate situation, but Jacob patiently worked with us to find an alternative and executed it to perfection!

We could not be happier with the results and will be sure to enjoy our new driveway and patio for years to come!

I was warned by several other subcontractors not to work with Steve from North Bay. He has tremendous difficulty keeping subcontractors on the job. I was fond of the homeowner, so I took the job anyway. I did beautiful work for the customer, but in the end, Steve only paid 50% of what he owed me. Buyer beware. Your job might not get finished.

Nathan went above and beyond and I couldn't be happier with the service he provided. Will call again for any electrical needs.

Nathan repaired a bathroom light fixture that was hanging away from the wall. He removed the light fixture and found the plastic housing supporting the light was broken in a number of places. He removed the housing and found there was no electrical box nor stud to fasten a new housing. So he furnished a structure much stronger than the original, fastened the housing to it and finally the light fixture. He went above and beyond what I expected and cleaned up after himself, not to mention he came over first thing Sunday morning. I recommend him highly!!!

Hello, this review is about a week late but i thought i’d share with everyone. He did a phenomenal job diagnosing the problem and in a very efficient manner. The scope of my job was identifying whether my old fuse box was bad or if it was my dryer. It happened to be my dryer but i wanted to be sure and waited for my new dryer to come in to test before giving a proper review.

Nathan was superb! He came highly recommended by a coworker who had a complicated EV home charging station installed several years prior. Nathan was quick to respond, and was able to come out for an estimate in just a few short days. My EV home charging install was (luckily) not too complicated, and Nathan priced out two different options for me. He was very knowledgeable, and, in the end, I went with the hardwired station. Install was quick, and within 5 days from his estimate, my new car was plugged in and charging in my driveway! Nathan was professional, prompt, and precise - and his price was fair. I would recommend him to anyone who needs electrical work. Thanks again!

Nathan was the best repair service I have ever experienced in my life and I am 78.. Our power went out for half the service in our home, including the furnace. I found Nathan on the internet. He came immediately even though it was late on a Friday and he was already done for the day. He throughly checked our old equipment and said it was in bad shape and should be replaced, but he thought that the problem was probably with the line from the public utility. We called and he spoke to the rep himself to be sure they checked the areas he thought needed attention. In the meantime he switched the service to our furnace so we would have heat. In the end he charged us much less than he should have for the time he spent and even refused to accept more. The public utility got the power back on just like he described it.

I had a tree fall on my detached garage during a storm in June of 2025, and that same tree damaged the back side of my home in the process. Not knowing where to turn, I interviewed four different companies, and I eventually selected John with Solid Ground Construction. I chose SGC for several reasons, but mostly because I believed that they could do the job right and I was able to visit with a current customer of theirs, at her home, and see the work for myself. She was happy with her experience, and the work appeared to be top notch. John, the owner, and the team at SGC, tore down my old garage and built a brand new one. They replaced the roof and the gutters on my home. They replaced some concrete in my driveway by the garage and added a concrete patio in the back of the house. And finally, they repaired the damage to the siding on my home. John is very dedicated to his craft, and he did everything that he could to make me happy. If there was an issue with anything, he took accountability and did what he had to do to make it right. But most of all, I was most pleased with the fact that he helped me navigate the challenges of dealing with my insurance agency. He actually took the time to get on some phone calls with my adjustor and help me get the most out of my claim. So, to sum things up, I would like to end my review with this. If you need something done to your home, I recommend that you give John a call and give him an opportunity to meet with you. If you do, I think that you will discover that SGC is worth taking a chance on.

One summer after air conditioner installed no Freon but would not correct problem! Install took 2 (10 hr) days! Here until 9 pm two days! Owner tried to make problem MY fault!!
