This contractor does not communicate well to the customer. Would leave the job site messy multiple times. It took them 3 and 1/2 months to poorly install a 20 ft square pad off turf. Halfway through the job they installed dead sod on half of the job and it did not live at all. I would never recommend them and wish I could get my money back. These pictures are what they say is level and straight. They made no offer of righting what was done wrong and in fact charged more than what they were estimating by a large amount.

Update: Not even a year later and the pad is not level non of the rocks they said were "Self-leveling" have leveled in any way. There are weeds growing in the middle of the turf area where weeds should not be able to grow...

I WILL use this company again. Mr. Clayton, although prOfessional, was easy to talk to. And he does more than just lawn & landscaping.

Jeff missed two appointments, kept rescheduling, but ultimately no shows. I'm thus dealing with an irate land lord over a yard that hasn't been mown in a month.

I hired Jeff to place sods in October 2021. He rescheduled our appointments twice without good reasons. By the time when he came, he didn’t order sufficient sods to cover all bare spots; he cut corners on the works he agreed to do on the contract. He left a few big bare spots in my front yard. He never comes back to finish the job as I have reminded him several times.

Think twice if you want to use him.

Jeff did such a great job! Made my house look like a new home with the landscaping job and was very reasonable with his price and was spot on with the quote he gave us. Will definitely keep using him!

STARTED OFF TERRIFIC, ENDED UP IN COURT! Keith Smith, the owner of Backyard Depot presents as a very easy going, nice, and down to earth contractor. His confidence, ideas, and suggestions make you want to work with him; and while his intentions are likely honorable the actual work does not hold up! After spending in excess of $30k, his drainage system failed miserably, his plants died, his sprinkler system leaked, the list of problems is longer than I have space to write! He promised to take care of it all, and yet we ended up having to sue because he refused to reply, call, work with us, or even return messages! We WON! but that leaves you empty handed until you can find his assets (which WE WILL DO). BUYER BEWARE!

We bought a house that already had a koi pond but we weren't sure on the cost for upkeep and maintenance. I spoke with Cooper and Hunter and they were extremely helpful with offering great suggestions with a low or no maintenance waterless pond. They had so much knowledge that they even help us with basic general questions with the landscape and sprinklers. Very prompt, attentive and so helpful!
