This experience inspires me to make Happy Plants OKC my only plant shop. I’ve been shopping here for more than four years but mostly, we go to the one on Northwest Expressway. I’ve had to return 2 plants in all that time for issues like yellowing leaves, root rot, etc. The store on Expressway has always been excellent and exchanged the plant. It even says on their receipt that they guarantee their plans for 90 days. Today was not the same story. I had an orange marmalade philodendron that was beginning to die. I purchased it about 10 days ago. I had already cut 2 dying leaves. I walked in with the plant, expecting them to not give me any kind of trouble or pushback. Instead they were really
rude and acted like I was asking for the world. My spouse and I spend a lot of money on house plants, mostly from TLC. Since Happy Plants opened, we go to TLC less and less
and now we will never go back. We had a problem with one of their plants and not only did they let us keep the plant, but they also gave us a store credit for it. It was severely damaged but we saved it and they still gave us store credit. We will exclusively buy from them now because of this experience. The cherry on top was the employee asking me did I repot the plant? I said yes, and assumed it was obvious since it was in a clear plastic pot. I said can I have my pot and the employee said where am I going to put this plant? I was thinking I don’t know in one of the probably hundreds of nursery pots you have in the store. Truly unbelievable. There’s too many options to be treated this way.

I went in and the plants are breath taking
The young female at the register was super nice however I went back to the front to purchase what I originally came in for and asked a older looking lady with tons of black eyeliner, if she worked there, she just stared at me with a half smile I’m assuming waiting for my question, without answering mine.
she had a green shirt on but I couldn’t see the front of it and I had never been in any of these stores before so, I didn’t know the uniforms. I said never mind and started walking away and that’s when she bothered to ask if she could help but I just said no thanks and left. I feel like that could’ve been handled a lot better. Everything else was great though.

Huge greenhouse for outdoor shrubbery, and I door plants, to cacti and succulents. They have so much variety. A true gem.

Donna was amazing!!! By far the best experience I’ve ever had at a plant store!! I usually go to Lowe’s but will come back because of Donna!!! She knew more about plants than anyone I’ve ever talked to!! Even more than I’ve found on the internet!!! Highly highly recommended, ask for Donna if you have any major questions!!!

Got a quick text reply to my question.

Also, they currently have a wide selection of Christmas trees, wreaths, and rows upon rows of gorgeous poinsettias.

I bought several grape tomato plants from tlc in the spring and was disappointed in the size and general look of the plant after a few months...think Charlie Brown Christmas tree. I also bought several of the same variety at a big box store, planted at the same time, fertilized the same, and used the same quality potting soil for all of them, but the big box store plants were huge, lush, and strong when compared to the tlc plants. Why the 5 star review? The tlc plants, although less than half the size, have produced double, and in some cases triple the yield of the big box store plants. I mean heavy yields that require twine to support the branches for all the tomatoes. I'm glad I didnt give up on the sickly, twiggy looking plants in the beginning...and they only look slightly better now, but who cares!

They had what I needed and more. They even helped me get everything to the car.

Great selection, beautiful place, but the employees often act put out when you ask for help-consistently. I hadn't been back for a whole and thought I'd give it another try. Both employees that I asked politely for help acted put out and annoyed.

Customer service is terrible for landscape professionals, you can't even get a simple price list, you literallyhave to go to there to price items. Had an issue with a plant and tried to talk to the nursery manager, who was completely rude and unprofessional, as was one of his employees. Lots of nurseries in the OKC area myself and our company will choose elsewhere.

I purchased over $1,500 worth of trees and plants from TLC. The receipt said there was a year guarantee on the trees and plants. I was also told that by the salesperson. Two trees and one shrub died. I was mostly interested in replacing the most expensive tree. I would have been willing to let the other two items go, without seeking replacements. I called them to verify what was required to replace the tree. They told me that the one year warranty was only if they planted the trees/shrubs. I had paid a landscaper to plant the trees, so TLC’s warranty was only 90 days. Their price to plant the trees/shrubs I bought was more than double what I paid the landscaper. So they overcharge on planting, so that they still make a hefty profit, even when they invariably have to replace their inferior trees/shrubs which die. I will buy elsewhere from now on.

Had a wonderful selection of nice plants for our new butterfly garden. Even better is that they were in sale. The crew here is always so knowledgeable and friendly.

I came up to get 120 single petunias. Everything you had left was in what I considered ridiculously high priced combos. Other places that I shop, I can get enough of the right color petunias in a combo to warrant the higher price when I have to do it that way. I don't know how early in the season you expect people to buy petunias, but i won't even put mine outside until the first of June so I don't have to re-buy them if we have hail or worse.
I left with 6 small begonias.
Unless you start saving more of your petunias for people like me, that want to do their own thing, instead of the well off customers that don't want to get their hands dirty, I don't really see the need to drive 40 miles, round trip to shop there again.

I visited their place to buy Fox Farm soil and some soil amendments, as they have the lowest prices for soil in the city. However, the plants were overpriced. I walked through the aisles for hours trying to find something worth the price, but I could not. All I bought was about $50 of soil, and I was happy with my purchase. I would have been happier if I could have bought some plants as well.

P.S.: After my visit, I thought maybe my expectations were too high. So I visited Lowe's afterward; they had more expensive soil but pretty cheap and healthy plants (fewer options than TLC).

I had never heard of this place because I'm not from around Edmond, but this plant shop is like an oasis in the desert. I actually came here trying to sell a product to them, and ended up learning about cacti (side note: I've never seen a better selection of cactus plants at a brick and mortar store in my life, and if I brought home yet another cactus, my wife would probably ground me). If you are redoing your garden, or even planting for the first time, I would definitely recommend TLC garden centers.

We just got home from our first Spring visit to TLC. This has become a family tradition. For the past 7 years I have been buying my Geraniums here. They are always great quality plants that are much larger and healthier than ones you get at big box stores. I also love their vegetable plants. We bought several for our greenhouse at great prices. They also carry some fun/funky planters that I love and their classes are really helpful. The environment of TLC is relaxing, I could spend hours in there. The employees are always helpful and polite and the pricing is fair for the quality that you are getting. We have NEVER had to return a plant purchased from TLC.

After being a customer for over 10+ years, I have walked in the door for the last time today. We purchased two flats of pansies on 9/18/2022. Due to the weather, we had not planted them. We moved them out each day and back in each evening to keep them healthy. This was the same practice that we used last year. These pansies are not well. So, we went back to the store today.
The experience was proof that TLC management is not interested in retaining customers. I brought my receipt and the flowers. No questions. No person even looked at the receipt. It was an immediate “no.” One person who didn’t even talk to me, just walked by and shook his head to mean - no, that is not our problem.
I am not a landscaper who spends thousands of dollars each year. But, I am a consumer who has spent hundreds of dollars each year with TLC. If someone would have talked to me and looked up my account, they would see that. No matter now. I won’t be back. And I encourage you to think twice before you waste your money here.

Love the selection, but don't love the high prices.

I got Jasmine plant from TLC in JUNE for 30$ and not happy with the plant . It didn't bloom for several weeks first once it started blooming was disappointed with the flowers which are small with single row of petals and don't smell . They need to stop selling this kind and stop disappointing their loyal customers . In the picture below the big one in dark green leaves is the one I got from TLC . The small one I got recently from non TLC store which I paid under 10$ but it's flowers are perfect with great smell . My sincere advise to TLC is to get good jasmine plants and get rid of these kinds . I told the manager the same but she didn't agree so I would like to tell every one.

For clarification both are in pots not planted in the ground as I am planning to put them inside for winter . So its not the problem of transplant shock its not good kind of jasmine plant .Thats what I am trying to tell you.

    Never in a million years…
Did I think I’d post a review about TLC…much less an extremely negative one. So here’s the situation …after receiving my horticultural degree from OSU-OKC we learned the difference between plants purchased from a reliable nursery and the big box stores. Buy from TLC they said instead of those baking on hot asphalt at HD and Lowe’s. Makes sense right? So I did…in fact my sales guy at TLC was a retired former OKC nurseryman that sold his business to lighten his daily load. I enjoyed his knowledge and felt like I was in great hands as I purchased boxwoods plants on his assurance that they’d be a hardy choice for our temperamental Oklahoma weather. Bought plants, BTE soil supplement and mulch from the “pros” at TLC. A year later the plants were suffering. Went back to see my guy—“we had a weird winter .... buy this fertilizer, they’ll bounce back”…they did not. Approached the same guy a couple of days ago …told him ALL five plants died…all 5…he laid more BS on my about hard winters-hot summers etc. y’all, I’d understand if one or two plants died but all five? All my “guy” offered was -go talk to the manager. I waited and waited for him to return from lunch but the dude never showed.
COME ON TLC, customer service used to be your strong point…what happened?

I’ve been a loyal customer for years, but have become increasingly displeased with the service and experience at TLC. Forget the fact that many things are overpriced and they rarely accept my military discount (citing other deals, etc), which is frustrating when your husband is actively deployed. There have been several issues I consistently have when I have gone lately. They frequently overcharge and I only realize this because I count the total as I shop. Today, I had the same cashier who has been rude to me several times before. I had spent over an hour browsing and came to the register expecting a total of $80. She said it would be $160 something. I contested (turns out the veggies and herbs were no longer on sale even though there was a sign saying they’re $1). She said they’d honor the veggie price but not the herbs (don’t know why). Then, she takes one of the veggie poles I had grabbed (since I picked about 20 veggie plants) and took it to a manager (presumably to ask if I can have them)… why is this an issue if I’m purchasing 20 vegetables that need support poles?! When it came to pay, she said I can’t use my August bucks because they changed the rule (but don’t have it posted on emails or in the store) and you now have to use all or none of the rewards. I said that there is a dearth of inventory at this time of year to be able to spend double that money. So she said I could either pay out of pocket or use only half my August bucks and waste the rest. So I left. This is not the service I would expect for someone who spent nearly $1k at their store this season. I don’t appreciate this particular employee’s frequent rudeness, the constant pricing issues, or changes in policies without notification. I would STRONGLY suggest everyone always know what their total should be to avoid being massively overcharged.

The cashier Jamie is always snobby to me for no reason but the plant selection is wonderful! They have a huge selection and the plants are always healthy and thriving.
