Marvin & the other worker did a great job of removing, grinding, cleaning up a big cherry tree at our property.
They also cut a medium holy tree and small trees along the fences.

Fantastic experience for tree removal & stump grinding from Marvin & his team. He communicated quickly for the initial quote and was able to schedule removal of the tree within a week of the quote. His crew worked quickly and left my yard spotless! The team also took care to relocate a squirrel nest that was in the removed tree. After the stump grinding a few days later, the area is looking fantastic. I could tell from the beginning of our communication that Marvin is someone who takes pride in providing good quality work and is genuinely a pleasure to work with. I look forward to working with him again in the future for tree maintenance.

Had two sweet gum trees to remove. I texted for an estimate and he came right away with a fair bid. They did the work 4 days later, took away everything and ground down the stumps so there was nothing left. I would highly recommend them.

We had to have a huge oak tree removed with massive limbs growing over the house. It was a big job! Lainez R handled the job perfectly. This was a big job, the tree was over 100 ft tall, they were diligent and hard working. It was good that we had the tree removed because we found damage to it. They did a great job cleaning up too!

Marvin gave me a fast low-cost quote and got to work on my job within two days. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to do jobs differently, like turn my tree into a hanging basket frame. He and his helper did a great job. They even removed leaves that had been falling off the dead tree for weeks. I highly recommend Lainez R Tree Service!

This crew is amazing! They are very friendly, honest, trustworthy and professional.
They had great signs to notify drivers of their equipment, they cleaned up after themselves extremely well and they provided exactly what I was hoping for.

They were able to get rid of my juniper bushes from the previous homeowner and they were so efficient! I asked for the bushes to be removed to the dirt and as you can see, they did exactly that!

Would definitely recommend and I will definitely be calling them back for any tree removal and trimming that I need.

They removed two damaged trees (big cedars) and trimmed another tree in our yard and they were efficient, safe, and extensive with their work and clean up. 10/10 recommend their services!!! Top notch professionalism and kindness. Marvin was transparent from the beginning about the work his team has done and the pricing, etc. He walked me through his thoughts on each tree during the inspection and offered choices as opposed to pressure. We came up with a plan together that felt reasonable and safe. His team showed up early, got started quickly, and finished the job exactly as we had discussed. So grateful to feel safer in our home because of their work!

Lainez cut my neighbors giant pine tree down and I met the owner. I have (had) a large maple in my backyard and it took up alot of room and dumped truck loads of leaves every year. The owner came over and gave me some great advice and price qoutes. I'm so happy I decided to get the tree removed and the crew was awesome. They're efficient and communicated arrival time and the process very well. He will be coming back to grind the stump to ground level. If you want to support a small business that will do great work give them a call.

J & F has completed more than one job for us at several apartment complexes in the Portland Metro area. At one site in the Irvington area of NE Portland, they have had to deal with exceptionally tall elm trees covered by Portland's protected tree requirements. In addition, some of the trees are between the sidewalk and the street and in close proximity to the two story apartment buildings, others on the grounds of the complex. In addition, there is car parking on both sides of the street as well as in parking lots for the apartment complex. Nothing has ever been damaged and they have always acquired all the permits necessary and left the complex looking better than when they arrived. No damage had occurred

At the second site in Aloha, they trimmed trees that the yard service said were too tall for them to trim--greater than 10 feet. Again, they responded quickly, completed the work in a timely manner and left the grounds looking as good or better than when they arrived.

I will use J & F again and absolutely recommend them for your tree work.

We had J&F come out to grind a stump in our front yard. They did a great job, were punctual, reasonably priced, and cleaned up afterwards. I would recommend them to anyone and they will be my first choice for any future tree work I need done.

If we could give no stars we would! We received an estimate of $500 for trimming our Arborvitae hedge. In the discussion I had with the estimator, he indicated topping eight trees and trimming the sides. Sadly, he failed to mention that the estimate only included topping, even though he indicated trimming the sides in his conversation. Based on the $500 estimate, we chose to employ J and F to complete what we thought was a full trim job. We called to schedule and got no response, so needed to call again. They called back after the second call and shared they were in the area and could stop by immediately. When the crew arrived, they began topping the trees, but were not trimming the sides. The boss (who also was the one who provided the estimate) shared that it would cost additional money to trim ONE side, and even more to trim the back side. Since they were now halfway through, we had no choice to pay more to trim one side.) For $500 we fully expected a COMPLETE job. When the boss came to the door, he said I owed him $1000--some of this was for trimming a few branches from 4 other trees. I told him I was not pleased and why. It was my understanding that I agreed to pay $500 for trimming the tops and sides of my hedge. He said the estimate did not include trimming/shaping the sides of the hedge though in his conversation he indicated that it would include this. One would expect that a professional would indicate additional costs and fully disclose and clarify what they would and wouldn't do. As a professional tree service, you would expect them to clarify that they would only trim the top for $500 and share that trimming the sides would be an additional charge. Would you pay $500 to have a crew come and top 8 arborvitaes, taking less than an hour to top them? The manager shared it would be an additional $165 for one crewman to do about 20 minutes worth of trimming with a trimmer on one side. Trimming the back side would have been an additional $165-$175. We had a 10% off coupon. The boss indicated 10% off was included in the estimate, so the coupon was not applicable. For $500 to trim the top of a hedge, one would expect perfection...it is jagged and uneven, with one side higher than the other and areas where pieces are sticking up beyond the trim line. When we registered our complaint about the price, the boss dropped the job to $900.

Several crewmen were here at one point, but most did not stay the whole time. They were simply stopping by after doing another job in the area. I didn't pay much attention to them, but what I did see at a couple of points is that they were acting in a very unprofessional manner. It was definitely disappointing.

All but one of the crewmen, from both what they said and did, seemed far more concerned about what they were being paid, and how many minutes they worked, than pleasing me as a customer. In fact, one of the workers told me that one of his co-workers said to just leave the trim job uneven... saying 'it was good enough'. Thankfully, another employee did the right thing and fixed the obvious problem. So VERY disappointing!

It is very sad commentary when after you go to websites, check out the reviews, and believe you are employing integrous people who will do a professional, thorough job, only to be so disenchanted with their performance. We will not employ this company again and will be certain to share with others our recommendation to avoid employing them.

Thanks J &F for being a such honest company. Thanks Dan to be an honest person to me. I thought my tree needs to be trimmed, so I called them right before 4th of July. Dan came on Monday morning right after the holiday. He said my tree don't need to be trimmed at this time, I can wait another two to three years to do it. I am so thankful for his honest. Called to request a quote for a tree removal at 830, had a quote by 1030. When I got home at 830 that evening the tree was gone, cleanup was spotless and the price was way better than I could have ever imagined. Highly recommend J&F Tree Service. 🙂

J & F Tree Service has come out to my home twice when I thought I needed to have trees removed. Both times they told me my trees did not need to be removed. Their honesty saved me thousands of dollars. I highly recommend this company.

I called around to several tree service in town to get an estimate to have a stump ground. They never called back to confirm coming out to look at it. Instead they showed up after I had already had another company do it and gave me a lot of hell for not calling them to let them know. The man pulled up to my house, walked around the front of my property for over 5 minutes before finally knocking on the door. When he finally did knock, he was extremely rude and tried to chastise me infront of my children. I told him he never called to confirm, so him driving out wasn't my fault. He then proceeded to walk around the front of my property for another 5 minutes plus looking at everything. Extremely unprofessional and rude! Would not recommend this company to anyone!

This is worst company I have dealt with in sometime. They initially started with a quote of $X for cutting a tree and when we were so close to signing the contract, they gave us a shocker saying there is a 3 months waiting time. As we already took about 2 weeks closing the quote, we chose to do it on a earlier date for an increased rate by $500. And then when we were about to sign the contract for the work, they further increased the price by another $500. And they had no courtesy to accept there mistakes here and very arrogant dealing with customers. Beware dealing with this company.

Surprisingly after all this, I received a call from their management just to shout at me and refused to even listen what I had to say.

Update: For some reason I could not reply to this. If you are truly interested, I can attach the call logs and messages to prove what I have said is true. The estimator from your company had sent me the quote 3 times in the last 2 days, and I had confirmed the price today morning also. Based on that I had planned my other work, like roof cleaning etc to adjusted to your timelines. In the last minute it was not right for the company to increase the estimates by $500. Depsite all this, I tried to maintain my calm, and I was never rude to your employees and if some reason your employee felt so, I apologize, that was never the intent. The issue I had is you were never willing to accept that you had given me a wrong quote, and that was all I was trying to point at. I am posting the review primarily because of the last call I received from your president who shouted at me and never wanted to hear me out.

Timeline of events:
August 5, 2020, 9am : J&F estimator sends me a quote for $X and I accept that quote over the phone. I made arrangements for my other work (roof cleaning, fence repair etc), get permissions with neighbors etc to be ready for the job
August 5, 2020 (evening I think) : One of the person from J &F office calls me and tells me work can be done only on October. I said that doesnt work for me and requested to see if there is some way we can pull that in. The person asks me to check with the estimator. I called the estimator and see how the dates can be pulled in
August 6, 2020 (10am): J&F estimator calls me and tells me it can be done for X+$500 on August 14th. I get this quote three times in separate times as SMS from your estimator.
August 7, 2020 (9.48 am) : J&F estimator asks me if I am good with $X+$500.
August 7, 2020 (9.50 am) : I accepted $X+$500 quote over the SMS and tells my neighbors to be ready for the job on August 14, 2020 and get other things also lined up correctly.
August 7, 2020 (3pm) : I get a call from J&F office saying that the quote has changed to $X+$1000.

Is this right?? I dont intend to take your service going forward, but I am just pointing this out, to make sure the company management dont get impulsive in future and shout at customers when they point out some areas of improvement.

When I called 5 companies for estimates, these were the only ones who actually showed up on time and walked me through what needed to be done on 8 different trees. Less than 2 weeks later they showed up and in the matter of a couple of hours had my trimming and thinning done to my satisfaction. I am very happy with the results and would recommend them to anyone needing tree work done. I myself will be calling them any time I need trees worked on.
