I recently had an overgrown birch tree removed by J & F Tree Service. The tree was huge, hung over three neighbors yards, was in a difficult spot to work with and they did a great job. The area was left in much better condition than they found it, the crew was timely, the price was fair. I would absolutely recommend them for any tree service you need!

I liked everything about J & F Tree Service. John came right away. He is knowledgeable and helped me solve several big problems at a reasonable price. Their work was excellent. Cleaned up the area. Highly recommended, especially for grinding stumps.

This company is phenomenal. They helped clarify the necessary steps to get trees cut down when we had to file a permit. They contacted the city for us to tell them we will be filing. They came out quickly and did an estimate and scheduled us within a week of us being ready. The one call out is that if you schedule your work to be done during storm season (September - well, may) know that emergencies will take priority. They kept us up to date and worked around the clock and got us in very quickly even with the other emergency calls. Just be patient. This company, and John and Kristi especially, are great!

John and his crew are amazing people first and excellent arborists secondly. I can’t thank them enough for their hard work and they move quickly. If you have tree problems, do yourself a favor and call John.

I've been worried about a large Douglas fir in my back yard that is growing close to the house for some time, so called J & F Tree Service for a professional opinion. They could have easily convinced me that this tree needed to go, but instead I got a quick education on what to look for in a dying tree, was reassured ours appears very healthy, and feel much better that we can enjoy our tree for years to come. They did not charge for the consult, but their promptness, professionalism, and willingness to address my concerns ensures I'll be using them for any tree needs in the future.

Only reason giving (1) star - is because there wasnt an option for leaving a zero .

J+F Tree Service arrived SUPER EARLY Waking Up MY ENTIRE HOUSEHOLD UNHAPPILY - TO KILL my next door neighbors huge beautiful Maple Tree ! In addition they left my neighbors property immaculate! As the parked their enormous wood chippers / hauling equipment/ Trucks all in front of my property . Leaving A Absolute MESS !! IN my Plant Beds Closest to my Neighbors , MY sidewalk strip and grrass, driveway and street in front of my house !! Due to all their workers walking on top of my flowers!! And wood chipping their

They are Incredibly unprofessional and Incredibly Disrespectful !! Leaving a AKA MESS ON 4th of JULY that i woke up too ( i came home night before after dark).
And my property didnt request any work.

Called them 1 day after noticing damage to a big leaf maple one day after a windstorm that came through. The tree was very close to our house and had a bi-furcated trunk that split at the base with one section leaning toward the neighbor's deck and needed to come down. I called other arborists including one I had used before, but they were all too busy to come out that week to evaluate and give an estimate. J&H came out that day to look at the job but needed a second look at the job by one of their climbers to assess the situation. By Friday I had their quote (which was very reasonable) and they scheduled to do the job 10 days out. Knowing the possibility of the tree coming down, they stated that they would come out early if they had an opening in their schedule. They called on the following Tuesday (6 days earlier than the promised date) and came out to take down the tree. Dan and the office staff were very professional and nice to work with.

Very accommodating and they were able to get us on the books right away. Great pricing and amazing service. Everyone was extremely kind. I will absolutely use them again if need be and will be recommending them to anyone I know that needs tree services.

Awesome honest company, they were able to trim the trees that I needed the same/ next day after getting a quote. had a job in my house for pruning down branches on 4 trees on my backyard as well as front yard. From the time I had called on the phone, till Dan came to my house, i was extremely pleased with the courteous and proffesional response form J&F. I got a good laydown on what the price will be and what will be included in the quote. This was the best price i had gotten after contacting about 9-10 other companies. Overall i would say i got the best service at the best price and the work is excellent as well. Dan is a seasoned pro and he knew exactly what the problem statement was and even provided details regarding the available options at hand. I would work with them again for sure.

The first time I used J & F Tree Services was in Nov 2010. It was a good experience, and every 12-18 months I call them back to trim some trees. They use the right equipment which enables them to execute efficiently. Their owner and staff are all very friendly. Pricing is very reasonable.
I have a play structure in backyard, and when I need they ship woodchips to me, no charge. I would recommend them to anybody. (Do not assume they can come to your house next day because that depends on whether or not they are busy, but overall they are pretty timely).

I called J & F Tree Service yesterday to get a new quote for taking down the really tall Pine Needle Factory that is 6' away from my house in my back yard. Within 5-10 minutes I had a return call from John with an estimate! I told him I'd like to get on the schedule to have them cut it down, and he said, "Well, I could have my guys do it right now!" I was super surprised, and a little apprehensive about not being home while they did it, but he said it wouldn't be a problem. He was right, there were no problems and their clean up was SO amazing, they left all the areas cleaner than when they got there! My neighbor hired J&F to cut down a tree. Nothing warms a neighbor's heart like being woken up to a chainsaw AND woodc-hipper before 7:30AM on a Monday morning. It's not like we were trying to sleep-in.

Aside from the noise, I can confirm they removed a tree. They also left wood chip debris across two yards in either direction. Guess you cannot be loud AND clean.

I've hired tree removal in the past, and they did the work to check for underground utilities. J&F isn't bothered by such process, as they didn't bother to check. Good thing the stump grinder didn't take out our Internet (underground where the tree was), or I'd be unable to leave this review.

The day I received the permit they fit me in. I was very impressed on the organization and efficiency. Very fast, professional and 20 minutes from start to finish. Very good clean up as well. We could not have been more pleased with the work of J and F, who have pruned our mature trees, an ornamental cherry and two dogwoods, before. Their workers, Carlos and Jonas, were artistic, meticulous in the pruning process, careful through a very long session up and down ladders and in the trees. The results are gorgeous, even in winter, promising to be more so when the trees leaf out. Bob, the estimator, was friendly, energetic, and helpful; the J and F workers came within 2 days to do the work. Cleanup was excellent, not a twig left on the property. Highest recommendation and pricing that resulted in excellent value. The company, Shelly specifically, phoned right away to see that the job was done according to their high standards. Because they did such correct work, we will not have to have the trees pruned for some years, a triumph. Thanks, J and F and your fine staff.

I would most definitely recommend these guys! They were responsive, professional, smart, affordable and efficient. We had two large trees that needed to be removed. Bob showed up the day after we called and walked us through what was going on with them. There was more going on than what we knew and he spent the time to educate us, which made us feel better about cutting down our lovely trees. Bob gave us a very reasonable quote and we said OK. The next morning utility companies had come out and marked their items. I think within 2-3 days of calling, the job was done. Thanks team! I am already sharing your contact info.

A few years ago we got a tree removed by J&F- they did a great job. Entire doug fir taken down for $1100. Flash forward to a couple months ago, we call them back to remove another doug fir- this one is a tad bit smaller. They quoted $3600 plus or minus $700. We said, but wait why is it so much when you chopped down this other one a couple years ago for literally 1/3rd the price? The estimator said "this one will take about 5 hours, plus or minus one hour, and we charge $700 per hour"....okay. I mean it's still not making a whole lot of sense since the other larger tree they removed didn't take that long. We call and get another quote from a different company for around $1400. The other company came in, prepped, chopped, cleaned, was in and out in a little less than two hours.
What I don't understand is how an estimator can be so off in their estimate. 5 hours?!? Really? If J&F doesn't want to take small jobs just say so- don't throw out ridiculous numbers to discourage people. A little honesty goes a long way. If they had said "hey we have a ton of other, bigger jobs" and left it at that we would have been happier. They left a bad taste in our mouth- will not recommend this company to anyone anymore.

J&F was great and I would recommend them to friends and family. I called J&F Tree Services to come out and look at a tree stump I needed removed. J&F promptly sent someone out to meet with me. The Sales Rep was very knowledgeable. He answered my many questions. We discussed the job specifics and expectations. The Sales Rep wrote out a detailed quote for me. The quote was very reasonable especially for the work being done. When it was time for the stump to be removed the sales rep and the team met with me again before the work was performed. We walked the job one more time and they got to work. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and professional. The communication was spot on. Every time someone was coming out to my house I received a phone call telling me they were on their way. I'm ecstatic to not have a tree stump in my front yard anymore.
