I've had 2 other companies out for the same intermittent problem. The first one said not enough freon. 6 months later, the second one said too much freon. 6 months later, the same problem and I called Nick. He diagnosed it as a possible relay problem but wasn't 100% sure. Instead of replacing parts, he declined repairs and didn't charge for the service call. Very honest and upfront.

On the hottest day of the summer (temps up to 106 🥵) our AC went out. Nick was able to assist over the phone initially and then made it out to our house in under 2 hours, he was so polite, knowledgeable and kind. Fixed the problem quickly and gave us insight into what caused the issue. Overall, I simply couldn’t recommend Nick more, please use him for all of your HVAC needs!

Nick is friendly and a good communicator. Nick helped us figure out why our HVAC system couldn't circulate air without the heat being on. We have a wood-burning stove that we like to use to hear the house in the winter, but our house wasn't wired for an HVAC system that could recirculate air. Nick laid out three options, two of which required running new electrical wires through the crawlspace or walls. In the end, Nick was able to suggest a new thermostat that could circulate air without the need to rewire using Bluetooth technology. It worked great, but after a couple days, we realized the heat wasn't kicking on when it dropped below the set point. I called Nick and he came out the same day (like, within two hours of me texting). He was able to quickly diagnose and fix the issue and now our home is warm and cozy (even in the back bedrooms).

Nick is professional, friendly, and highly skilled. He had the heating unit of our HVAC system repaired very quickly and it is in working order again. Thank you, Nick!

Nick was awesome! I had no idea what was going on with my UV scrubber filter, but he diagnosed the problem right away, and let me know exactly which bulb I needed. Super helpful, honest, and easy to work with. Definitely calling him again if I need anything HVAC related!

I recently had my furnace go out when temps were in the 30s and was told I should probably buy a new one by a larger HVAC company. My neighbor advised me to get a second opinion by Nick the HVAC Guy before spending thousands on a new furnace.
Nick was an excellent communicator and was able to fix my furnace in the same day. He explained everything and educated me on how the furnace works and what issues I was having. I had him back out and install a thermostat as well. I work graveyard and he was very accommodating with scheduling. He is professional and more importantly has integrity, which can be rare to come by these days. He definitely will be my go to HVAC guy!

Nick's great. I couldn't figure out how to work the furnace in the manufactured home I bought. He came and checked it out, showed me how to work it, and charged me a very fair price. Would absolutely recommend him

Had a 25 year old AC unit tripping my breaker panel consistently in the middle of July (of course during sweltering heat waves). After reviewing local HVAC repair folks I decided on going with Nick as he consistently had great reviews and his customers were highly satisfied. I called him up to discuss my problem and he was able to come out later the same day, Nick quickly diagnosed my compressor as having a rusted\shorted terminal within 15minutes (which was not fixable).
We then discussed what my options were and said he would send me some details on some lennox AC units (as he is a certified Lennox installer). I did not want to replace the whole furnace as the gas heating was working ok, and Nick was confident he could accommodate getting a Lennox evaporator coil to fit into my old york Gas furnace, so in the end we went that route which was much more cheaper.
It took a few days to get all the material but true to his word Nick showed up promptly when he said he would, tore out all the old failing AC parts (and hauled it all off), replaced everything with the new Lennox AC SEER14 system and we fired it up. Unfortunately Nick encountered an issue with my blower motor on startup but quickly diagnosed that to a bad startup capacitor which he swapped out in 10 minutes at no extra charge.
My old AC could at best give me 20 degrees cooling from outside to inside, the new unit Nick installed actually has been doing 30 degree outside to inside difference (it's really amazing). My electrical bill is also much cheaper with this Lennox unit, I run my AC 24/7 in the summer and comparing bills from before AC replacement and after I'd say I'm paying about 80$ less a month to run a much better and more efficient AC unit!
Nick did a top quality professional install at a fair price, patiently answered about 50 questions I had during the whole installation, and the AC units overall performance has exceeded my expectations. 100% satisfied, Nick is a great guy and fantastic HVAC repair technician, do yourself a favor and just call him first, you'll be glad that you did.

Daniel did an outstanding job, not only checking and helping maintain our HVAC system, but took his time to explain ways to best operate and care for the equipment in between service visits. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional and we would highly recommend his technical expertise to anyone else.

We had BOD install a 17seer heat pump and air handler system to replace our original 1990's gas furnace. Cody was incredible at putting the estimate together for us. He worked with us to help us understand the different tiers, and the pros and cons to each. They also applied on our behalf for Oregon rebates available for our new high-efficiency system.

The install process was great! The crew showed up on time, worked very hard to make sure all the bits and pieces were installed correctly. Their contract electrician did a great job wiring everything up even though he was probably missing dinner with his family as they worked into the evening, finishing about 7:30PM.

After everything was all hooked up, Kevin the owner came personally to fire up the unit for the first time and make sure it was all operating properly, as well as answer any questions we had.

As a general contractor, I use trades workers quite often as subcontractors. I don't often have contractors in my home. These guys were professional, on budget, and the lines of communication were open and prompt. I highly recommend Best Owner Direct and will be sending my clients their way should they have any HVAC needs.

Danny is a hard working, reliable employee for BHD. He frequently performs the service and repairs on my HVAC system. This most recent problem was a persistent issue and he was finally able to get it figured and now it seems to be working fine now. Danny is someone I have come to know. Kevin came out to my house, did an in depth inspection of an issue I was having. Found I had time to wait until a repair was needed and was very open and honest with what I needed.

Appointment booking was simple and quick, would’ve been able to get in the day of my call but I was personally unavailable. The next appointment was the following week so, 4 days wait for availability after that. The receptionist was courteous, upbeat, and helpful and got us hooked up. We received text message reminders and confirmations that were helpful as well.

Daniel the technician was very friendly and professional. He showed up within the window allotted for the appointment. He was quick to diagnose the issue and shared with us some solutions. He spent much of his time trying to work with the Nest thermostat folks to set up our thermostat correctly to function optimally with the condenser/furnace unit. Overall pleased with the level of service! Will call again.
