Grassroots Landscaping is simply the best! It’s a rarity these days to work with a group of dedicated, talented and meticulous folks! They walk the talk, show up on time and will do whatever it takes to create a masterpiece. I look forward to our next collaboration!

Working with Spencer to make improvements to the area in front of our home was very satisfactory. He listened to my ideas, and implemented a plan that exceeded my expectations! I have a beautiful retaining wall that surrounds a raised bed filled with some of the shrubs I already had and some new plants too. I also have a new gravel and paver walkway that separates the raised bed from a wonderful "dry creek bed" also filled in with lovely accent plants. There was room left for me to add in some annuals and color spots to make it truly mine.

We hired Grassroots for a few important projects at our home over the past 2 years. The entire Grassroots team really went above and beyond. Garrett's team was very professional, flexible, and were truly focused on quality. Our projects were challenging due to terrain and access. This didn't stop Garrett, Luke, Austin, and team from building a rock solid cedar deck with custom wrap around stairs, a river rock retaining wall, in-ground stair case, and new gravel path with proper drainage, all in a steep backyard with very limited access. We couldn't be happier and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come! We will definitely be working with Grassroots again.

Garrett, Austin, and the whole crew from GrassRoots did a PHENOMENAL overhaul on our entire 1/3 acre property. I wish I had "before" photos, but our front and back yards were very steep slopes covered in weeds. From start to finish they were a dream to work with. Garrett did a great job seeing my vision, coming up with options, and keeping my budget in mind. From the modern aesthetic, pathways, retaining walls, stairways, plantings, everything is perfect. All of the subcontractors were great and easy to work with. When I couldn't find a play structure that I actually liked, Austin built me one from scratch! It's such a joy having a beautiful place to spend time outside playing with my kids, having friends over, future gardening (in the spring), and I actually enjoy looking out my windows at it now. I would give them 10 stars if I could, and I highly recommend them to anyone who's looking to have any projects done in their yard, big or small!

Their team creates outstanding community spaces that are welcoming and well cared for. I had big plans for my back yard and initially thought I could do most of the work myself, despite not being a fan of yard work. I wanted a new patio with walkway around the house, to remove most of my lawn and replace it with other plantings, and eventually get a cover for my deck. Well, after a couple years of chipping away at it, and then a pandemic, I decided it was finally time to just hire professionals.

In May I met with Phil from GrassRoots to go over my current yard and my vision of what I was looking to do, he offered many great suggestions (including using stamped concrete instead of paver stones for the patio and path). We went back and forth over the design details, taking our time to get things right (after all, I was in no hurry). He let me know that the work would be done in phases, each time squeezing between their other jobs.

He hands me off to Tim who oversaw the work. Starting in mid-October the demo team cleared out the existing lawn to prep in the first day. A week later the team came out and spent two days laying the gravel base and installing the retaining walls for the concrete pour. Two weeks later the concrete team poured and stamped the concrete, and then removed the retaining walls a couple days after that. At that point the softscape team showed up and blew in the dirt, installed the new sod, and got really excited showing me the plantings they picked out as they placed them in their pots around the yard to get my okay with where they had arranged everything. A few days later the carpenters showed up to install the new deck cover, which looks absolutely stunning! After the first rain, I noticed that the runoff from the deck cover was splattering the fresh bark they had installed, so they came out and added some decorative gravel there to catch the rain.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience and I'm so glad I finally decided to go with the professionals on this project. I'm looking forward to the spring when everything starts to grow, and in a few years when the bushes fill in.

We hired Grassroots for a large project, and the results were worth every penny. They built a sturdy retaining wall, installed a brand-new fence, laid turf-type grass, and created a walkway and several paver patios—all done with incredible attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.

We worked with Spencer, who was always available to answer questions, provided us with detailed estimates and a clear understanding of how the process would work. Matt, the site manager and his crew (Armando and Marco), were reliable, hard-working, and extremely tidy. They arrived promptly each morning, worked steadily all day, and they cleaned up every afternoon to make sure there was no extra mess left behind. We enjoyed having them around for the three weeks of the project. The subcontractors (electrical, concrete, pond) were also top notch. They paid attention to details and we appreciated the level of expertise and craftmanship they brought.
GrassRoots helped us achieve our desire for a backyard oasis. We know we will have many happy years to come in this beautiful space. We recommend them highly!

Gary, Darcy, and the team did a FANTASTIC job on our front & back yard landscaping - they not only brought our vision to life, but they made it BETTER than we imagined!
