I believe that Vinje's deserves its high rating and I am contributing another 5 star review. Because they were amazing! I recently did some work and drove across Portand on several occasions to get supplies and parts from them. Drew at the counter was patient and listened to my needs and recommended all of the things I needed. Craig, the ops manager, was also very supportive and worked with me as well. The project turned out well and I think it would have been a lot less successful if not for their advice and great supply of pieces and parts. Thank you to Vinje's, nice people to work with!

I just finished my second DIY project with Vinje & Sons. We put in a gas furnace about 17-years-ago, and just replaced it with a new heat pump. Everything for my project—except wire—was included in the package I bought. Whenever I had a question someone at Vinje had answers pretty much immediately. The scope of the project (especially the first one) seemed overwhelming when I started, but they led me through it without a hitch. I got four bids for my heat pump before I decided to go with Vinje; the lowest bid—by far—was about $17,000.00. I ended up putting mine in for about $9,000.00 [after incentives and credits]. I used up a couple of weekends, but $8,000.00 is a pretty good return. I 100% recommend Vinje & Sons.

I had Vinje's design my HVAC duct system for my two story, 2400 sqft home. They have some good units available but the upcharge is something each individual person needs to decide for themselves. The upcharge on goodman and rhudd 14 seer units were not worth it for me and their daikin unit would not work for the size of my property. Their calculations provided a final design but left much to be desired.

I liked the pricing on their stock sheet metal items, dampers, wyes, ducts, boot boxes, but I opted to purchase flex ducts that are sold in even dimensions at Lowes.

Their sheet metal custom work is expensive but definitely quality. Unfortunately I picked up half my order and realized the custom return duct didn't fit(cost me 280 dollars), they also charged me a custom transition charge(140 dollars) which I assumed would be part of the return ducting but the pricing was separate and I approved of it by reducing a few other items. Since the return duct is messed up, the transition is as well. I called about possible resolution possibilities and Vinje's is willing to provide a 50% discount. Unfortunately, I cannot trust them to complete it correctly again as the dimensions I provided seemed to be enough for them the first time, but if I am providing the dimensions again and it still doesn't work then it is on me.
There were things that were missed by Vinje's via email the first time from my dimensions I provided or confused them.

Overall, I do not recommend ordering custom sheet metal from them unless they can provide a better guarantee(no returns for custom sheet metal) or if you are just ordering a box. All their heat pumps are somewhat overpriced compared to online dealers, but that is because they are locally available to provide support so it makes sense.

Use them for duct calculations designs but don't expect too much detail unless you ask all the questions.

I will still utilize them in the future and have a lot of appreciation for these people, but there is a lot left to be desired.

Excellent knowledge, excellent service, friendly, honest, and reasonably priced. If your looking to replace or upgrade your HVAC, don't be a mindless equipment box swapper. Examine and test the ducts. You very likely need to upgrade some part of the ducts, or even completely replace them. This place can make you custom duct transition that keep the airflow resistance in the ducts low, which results in quite operation, good airflow, and good energy efficiency. Like cars and traffic flow, air likes to turn through smooth corners not right angles. They even sell heat pumps and help DIYers with the refrigerant line connections, pressure test, vacuum decay test, and refrigerant charge adjustment steps of the installation.

My house had a 35 year old gas furnace. I got three quotes for all new duct work and a new heat pump. For my 2,000 sq/ft home, the quotes were $18.5k, $22k, and $24k. I ended up DIYing through Vinje's for just shy of $7,500 — roughly 1/3 the price of the quotes I received.

I worked two full weekends and three weeknights. That breaks down to 40 hours to do the duct work and 10 hours to do the wiring and heat pump install. There's a huge learning curve to duct work. I got roughly 50% of the duct work done in the first 30 hours, and the other half done in the last 10.

I called Vinje's at least 25 times over those two weeks. Every single time they were able to answer my question quickly and help me keep moving forward. At one point, I realized I could save a bunch of time by having them make a custom L duct bend, and they had it ready for me the next day.

I cannot recommend Vinje's enough. They were so incredibly helpful to work with, and they saved me $15,000. And in case you're wondering, yes, I had my project inspected, and I passed without any complaints.

A special shout out to Josiah at Vinje's who helped me with all my calculations and duct design.

My contractor couldn't figure out a solution for modifying the duct to fix his error and attach my new Bosch hood vent. The team at Vinje's came up with a simple, yet totally perfect, solution and built it on the spot. I was in and out in under an hour. I really appreciated the customer service experience and the creative problem solving. It wasn't complicated, it just needed someone who does duct work every day to look at the problem. I also appreciate the time spent explaining to me exactly how to install it. Thanks Vinje's team!

Amazing service that save me time and thousands. Craig and team were extremely knowledgeable and most importantly, patient, as this was my first experience with replacing a heater. They fully configured my new unit so it was ready to be put into place. The configuration included converting the unit to liquid propane and to operate as a down flow unit with exhaust and combustion air intake on the same side as the old unit. They ensured that I had all the necessary gas fittings, vent fittings, tape, detailed instructions and custom fit ducting which was a perfect fit. The replacement heater was truly plug and play, I had zero issues with the replacement thanks to the prep work, knowledge and instruction from the team at Vinje & Son. I’m still amazed at how easy the project was with their help. Thank you!
