As a DIY'er it is darn near impossible to find anyone willing to sell you parts. I tried to buy my mini split system locally and was turned down by multiple HVAC outfits and wholesalers. I ended up ordering my system online. However, there were still parts I needed and I ended up finding Vinje & Son. What a pleasant and positive experience. I was helped by several employees and they answered my questions with no hesitation and sold me the piece I needed at a very fair price. I only wish I would have found them prior to buying my system, as I would have loved to have given them that business as well.

I've owned and operated a service business for the past 10 years so I know good service when I see it. These guys are the real deal....

I just finished installing the furnace I purchased from Vinje & Son. It was a great experience and I highly recommend Vinje & Son. I got four bids and doing it myself was 40% cheaper.

The Vinje & Son team walked me thru the entire installation process. They custom fabricated my sheet metal duct transition pieces and answered any questions I had.

I had the installation inspected by the city and the inspector was surprised more people weren't installing their own furnaces. He said it's not rocket science.

my thanks to the staff @ V & S for your expert guidance & understanding for the proper set up I needed in order to install a new RHEM furnace.. when I came in with measurements & photos you were still able to correct my errors & set me up with ALL the materials needed. Craig definitely knows the business & sure made installation a breeze. When the gas company came out & did a safety inspection they said we "Did a good job & made a good choice of furnace." they also stated I saved over $2,000 by doing it myself..

I called Vinje & Son last Thursday after several frustrating experiences with HVAC sales people. I spoke with Craig and in half an hour he went over the dimensions and specs with me, I ordered a furnace, picked it up the next day and installed it in a day and a half at my leisure. If you are handy at all don't be afraid to do this. When I picked the furnace up Craig took the time to answer all my questions and go over the finer points of installation. Plus I saved over $2000.00 easy and my wife is warm again. Well worth the time and effort.

Vinje's is fantastic. Highly recommend.
I ended up in a DIY situation with a heat pump missing from a prior install and had inherited nearly $700/mo winter electric bills. Not having cash for $14k replacement, with their help, I managed to get a full replacement with an updated new air handler & heat pump for about $6k (all in, new thermostat, refrigerant, etc). Literally the screw holes on the tin matched on the new unit (drop in replacement, zero tin work).
I'm still very low on funds, but appreciate what Vinje's has done for me every damn day, and more importantly, my son and wife are comfortable, and money saved is better put towards his college fund. Because of good people like this, others end up stronger and healthier, the way it ought to be for everyone.

My furnace started making funny noises and smells, gas company detected unsafe CO levels, shut off the gas and like that I was looking at spending $3-8k for somebody else to install a new furnace.

The unexpected expense was going to force my hand away from other needed - - and saved for - - projects. I was still shopping contractors when I found Vinje and Son sheet metal and diy heating and cooling. Where most dealers only sell to contractors, Vinje claimed not only to sell to the end user, but also to offer guidance and support for the equipment install while guaranteeing a valid warranty on parts. Sweet, I thought. Let's check this out.

They helped select a machine, tools and equipment. They even guided me through the setup and measuring for custom adapter pieces so I could fit my new furnace into existing ductwork. Through text/over the phone.

Including the cost of the permit from the city, total cost to install was still nearly a grand less than the lowest bid, all for a few hours of elbow grease, some youtube videos and info sheets and explanations from Craig. Now I am toasty warm and back in business just in time for the late winter snow day.

Expect 2-3 days turnaround time for custom parts.

We were looking to add AC to our house and going with Vinje & Son saved us half of what we would have normally paid for full service AC install.

They're a DIY shop and they'll provide you plenty of information to get your system up and running but you will be doing a lot of the install work yourself. Final connections for the copper lines are done by a licensed tech and Vinje's will give you a referral. So long as you good with this arrangement there is a lot of money to be saved by the home owner for the same or better quality of equipment that you can get from another HVAC company.

Happy customer, comfortable recommending them to others, will use them again.

I am extremely satisfied with Vinje and Son. The prices were very reasonable. I have been in construction almost 20 years and I can tell you that the prices are very close to what you would pay even if you could go out and buy at wholesale. I have heard of buying online but that is always a nightmare. Your equipment could be damaged in transit, you could get an aftermarket unit or a host of other problems. When you buy from Vinje and Son you get to inspect the unit in person before you accept the product and you get hands on in store advice for the best installation methods. I had a very difficult install to work around with the previous installation from a "professional" being done incorrectly. I was able to bring in photos on my phone and drawings and measurements and they were able to help me determine the best duct sizing for me to install. They were extremely prompt with their delivery of the duct and always went out of the way to help with everything. I just finished my install a couple of weeks ago, and the difference with the new system is amazing. I am very happy with this company and would recommend them to anyone and will definitely return there for any future HVAC needs. Thanks again Vinje and Son.

Bought a furnace a few years ago. Today I bought A.C. (7/8/21). Manager, Craig, helped me both times.

Everyone in the shop was and is super helpful. They walk you through every step of the way. You will forget about something inevitably. But don't worry they have your back like they did today.

Best DIY guys around. Next time your ac or furnace goes out, don't call the repair people. Call Vinje, and let them help you fix it yourself. FYI, damn good prices as well. Home depot can't compare.

Vinje & Son is an amazing shop and an even better team! They have always taken the time to give me advice and walk me through my situation when I needed them. When our AC unit needed to be replaced they got us an amazing deal on a new unit and connected us with a super reasonable contractor to charge it up.

At our current house I thought the AC unit was out too and after talking to them on the phone I was able to remove the capacitor and they sold me a replacement that I could install myself. Saved me a ton of money by doing it myself. Most contractors would sell that part for 5 times as much and then charge to install it. It was super easy after talking to Vinje & Son's staff.

Can't recommend this shop enough.

UPDATE:

Vinje and Son's just saved Christmas for us! Our heat stopped working today and after calling Vinje's they talked me through a simple few steps and I got or furnace working again! No money spent!! That is integrity! They easily could have used our desperate position to charge us extra, instead they just helped us.

Our furnace is old, when we really do have to replace it, I'll be shopping at Vinje's!

We purchased a furnace from Vinje 29 hard years ago that finally died, had an extremely good experience the first time. We contacted Craig who was able to look up the specs on our furnace and made some suggestions, we purchased, I installed myself, and found, due to some design changes that the return plenum wouldnt work, did some measurements, emailed the specs to Craig andone day later had a piece that fit like a glove. You guys are the best and will see you in another 29 years. It is my honest opinion there is no place that can ever come close to the knowledge and professionalism for ALL of your HVAC needs. Thank you! Quick side note, looking through their reviews, I found it ironic and downright comical that a professing PLUMBER said that Vinje&Sons way way over priced.

We have had a wonderful experience with Vinje's. We really like what they are doing in terms of helping people DIY a mini-split system. We have a small bungalow with conventional HVAC downstairs but we needed extra cooling upstairs. We found the Vinje people to be friendly and helpful. We had a successful installation which we did largely ourselves. We had a professional from Vinje do the refrigeration lines and an electrician do the quick disconnect but otherwise we did the rest. It saved us a great deal of money. Thank you Vinje's!

An addendum go my original review: After talking with the folks at Vinje's and returning the control board, they graciously refunded the cost even though it is not their usual policy. Thanks to them and the comprehensive and conscientious service and products they provide.

Nice folks and great for ductwork and hardware but don't order electronics unless your willing to eat the cost of a defective control board or a wrong part. I brought an old malfunctioning defrost control board from my heat pump in and the gentleman at the counter cross referenced it. We special ordered a new board that looks exactly like the old board, same manufacturer etc. Unfortunately for me, it doesn't work on the unit and there is a no return no refund policy on electronic parts at this store. An expensive lesson on my part that I hope doesn't get repeated.

Had an issue with my a/c unit. Needed a new contactor. They had it in stock!!! And helped verify that it was a compatible replacement.

My wife and I installed a new furnace, duct work, and Air Conditioning unit courtesy of Vinje and Sons. The staff were very helpful from the initial planning stages, to manufacturing/ordering the parts, and last minute wiring questions. We plan on using them again in future renovation projects.

Our oil furnace recently went out and we needed to make a change. I had used Vinji and Son several times in the past so I went in again to discuss my options. Craig walked me through the process of installing a new heat pump and air handler. I was able to save thousands of dollars by doing some of the work myself. The system is great and meeting all our heating needs. I would highly recommend this company.

I gave them a custom design with specifications and they made it for me in less than a week and for less money than I thought it would be. Great work Vinje and Son!!
