Dishonest business and group of people. Refused to deliver service reports and sided with landlord in a tenant/landlord dispute regarding a dysfunctional HVAC. We gave them ample chances to talk to us.
We tried to get in touch with them for weeks and got stonewalled by customer service. Every time, they refused to provide us with any contact information to escalate besides giving us an email address. Very shady.

The company services the HVAC at my office building. From what I know about HVAC (very little), everything seems great. I know more about customer service, though, and that's what stands out to me. Of the 20+ technicians I've met from this company over the years, all but one have been exceedingly professional. Among the many good ones, Robert is particularly helpful and considerate about doing his work in a way that is not disruptive to my clients' time with me. Whenever I know that there will be HVAC maintenance, I always cross my fingers and hope Robert is part of the team that comes to our building.

The installer did an amazing job. I just wish the installation of the new carpet included installing new wood trimming. That was real hardship for us to install.

Bought a washer and dryer from Home Depot, so far very happy with our purchase. But their employees to help with us checking over the washer and dryer to make sure it wasn’t damaged in shipping wasn’t very cooperative in helping open the boxes where we could see our appliances and didn’t have very good attitudes at all. We were told by our salesperson to check over our appliances to make sure nothing was damaged before accepting it. Cause if we accepted and got it home and found any damage Home Depot wouldn’t cover the damage! So we were just following the salesperson directions and their employees helping to load our appliances treated us like we were being jerks for asking to check out the appliances before accepting them and putting them in my truck. Home Depot needs to have a talk with their employees on what their policies are and what the responsibilities of their loaders are, if they want customers to inspect their items that’s been ordered all boxed up where customers can’t inspect such items without at least partially removing the cardboard box!

I have worked wit JDL for 14 years. They do great work, on time and on budget. They have worked on every room in my house. I don't call anyone else for quotes now. They are not the least expensive, but worry free.

We have worked with Jeff and his team at JDL for many years and they are a pleasure to work with. They make our job so much easier by being so organized and on top of everything. They are responsive and communicative and pay attention to the details which is why we like working with them!

JDL is a first class organization. David Marti was very professional and easy to work with. All the JDL employees and most of their subs were very qualified and easy to work with. We remodeled most of our main floor and couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.

We have worked for JDL Development for decades. This is a great company that has very high end standards, excellent sub contractors to work with, accountable and available project managers. We are always happy and enthusiastic to be working with and for JDL Development and their customers.

Jeff and Team at JDL did an incredible job on a major repair of my home following a severe winter storm and major tree damage to my house. Jeff, Tony & Dave were highly professional, brought in highly capable subcontractors for the repairs and tightly managed the project. I couldn't have been happier with my experience. I have no problem recommending JDL and giving 5 stars..... Dave

The entire team at JDL are true professionals, artisans, and perfectionists! They did an extensive, two-year remodel on our 1951 mid-century modern home and brought it into the 21st century. The systems were modernized: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, windows, doors, etc., and the living spaces were replaced with details that look original to the home. The design, estimates, and construction phases were always very straightforward. Anytime we encountered problems, they presented solutions and never once compromised the quality of the design intent or final outcome. The entire team was always very considerate and super responsive.

We will continue to work with JDL, and highly recommend their entire team!

As an interior designer practicing in the Portland area for over 30 years I have worked with a number of general contractors on both residential and commercial projects. I am currently working on my first project with JDL Development on a residential renovation in Portland and I have been so impressed! The entire JDL team and their subcontractors bring professionalism, organization and collaboration to the project - every day! We still have a few months to go until completion but I have the utmost confidence that it will continue to run smoothly and the end result will be exactly what my client and I have envisioned!

Our 1915 Prairie-style house had one small bathroom that had suffered a bad DIY remodeling several decades ago and had developed a leak into the kitchen ceiling below. The bathroom needed a complete overhaul, including new plumbing and wiring, as well opening a window that had been partially covered in the previous remodel. Other areas that needed substantial repair included a water closet with a single toilet on the basement landing, tiling in the kitchen, a microwave installation, ceiling cracks in the living room and dining room, chipped wall paint in hallways, the aforementioned kitchen ceiling leak, and replacement of outdated wiring and plumbing in the basement. It was a sprawling remodel-and-repair job.

JDL came highly recommended and did not disappoint. They patiently spent a lot of time with us up front on the overall design of the project, from the attic to the basement. They laid out the cost of the project, including options, in great detail. The price wasn't cheap, but it was fair, and we feel we got more than our money's worth. These folks are professionals.

Once JDL started the actual work, we were impressed with the overall project management, the exacting craftsmanship of both their own employees and the subcontractors, and the way they treated our house as respectfully as they would have treated their own. They cleaned up after themselves every single day, communicated about their progress regularly and made all significant decisions in consultation with us. The result is a bright, modern bathroom that nevertheless blends in perfectly with the 1915 style of the house.

JDL took on an extensive kitchen/living room remodel on our 1911 craftsman built home. We wanted to work with a designer and builder that kept the integrity of our old, historical house while updating it to a new and brighter aesthetic - JDL did not disappoint! Jeff designed and formatted our new space with a conscientious eye towards detail and fine craftsmanship. From day one we had great communication with Jeff and his colleagues, both in planning and execution. We had several additions and readjustments as the project progressed and JDL always did an excellent job in keeping us updated and pivoting plans as needed so that our remodel stayed on the timeline. We especially loved working with Peter, who patiently fielded phone calls and handy man requests as we turned our laundry room into a makeshift kitchen during the 5+ months our kitchen was out of commission. JDL uses skilled and professional subs and holds their work to a high standard, Jeff thought of many details and changes that we never would have considered, which helped with the integrity and energy efficiency of our space. People like to joke about nightmare remodels, but we couldn't have had a more different experience. JDL was professional, timely, thoughtful and reasonably priced. Our kitchen and living remodel turned out to be more than we could have hoped for and continues to be our favorite and most relaxing space in our home. If you're looking for a builder/designer, we cannot recommend JDL more and we look forward to our next project with them coming soon,!
