Electrical reviews in Portland, Oregon
-
Frustrating that this and the Beaverton branch refuse to answer their phones.
-
Graybar supplies the majority of the material for my communications business. Fair pricing, fast shipping times and they make any mistakes right very quickly.
-
This company has outstanding employees . The company I work for went me here to do a pick up and the wait was only a few minutes .
-
The counter staff at the will call/service center were VERY helpful, nice, and understanding of a part I needed to order through the company. Mike was great at staying in contact with me about shipping, and helping me order the part. Great service, and if I ever need more electrical supplies will go here 1st.
-
Really sad to see how low quality service this location has become since the opening of the Beaverton Branch. Extremely long wait times and the location has become a will call only location, which is extremely inconvenient when needing immediate parts.
-
Terrible service and will call only. Very disappointing

Thank you Prairie Electric. I am a repeat customer and always happy with your work and customer service.

Glen and his partner fixed a chirping smoke alarm that is at an impossibly high and awkward place to get to. That chirp has been vexing us since we moved into the house 2 months ago. We also had them look at some outlets that were not working and they showed us how a hitherto unknown wall switch controlled them so saved us from unnecessary repairs. Very happy with the service and the competent friendliness of they guys.

They never returned my call!

He was friendly and informative

We did great work & I look forward to hiring him again. 🥰
-
Exceptional experience all the way. This is a consummate professional and he charges reasonable prices. From start to finish, it was a very pleasant experience.
-
Vince is a pro. He worked quickly, but thoroughly on installing some home security components. I would hire him again.
-
Excellent master electrician. He was prompt, knowledgeable, and reasonable. This very nice man did a great job installing my crystal chandelier
-
Friendly & timely response for the services and assistance requested. Forthcoming to address issues and willingly striving to resolve them. Experienced professional repository of information assisting in a plethora of options with respect to graded costs versus value proposition.
Definitely looking forward to be in business for a long time for varied needs that pop up from time to time. -
Took payment and never finished the job. Had to take him to small claims court. He likes to curse at you, make threats and project personal inadequacy towards you like other reviewers have said if you complain or call him out but don't let that intimidate you.

Had half my house suddenly lose power, he was able to come by within a couple hours, fix the situation, and provide lots of good safety advice to avoid my problem in a way that way easy to understand. Also really affordable, I’ll definitely call him again.

I had several small repairs needed to sell my house. It was so convenient to make my appointment online. Everything was done within an hour, and he explained each repair as he made it. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality of work .

Tried to book him, I described the job, he did a quote, I countered, we agreed on price, were discussing time/date of appt, I thought everything was copacetic and amicable, then he sent me what I would characterize as an emotionally unbalanced email about how undervalued he felt and how he was going to basically do a subpar job is how I read it, since he didn't feel like he was getting top dollar he was going to act accordingly, was passive aggressive and unprofessional, not something you want to hear from someone you are trusting to perform a service on your home. He sounded so resentful that it raised red flags so I emailed him back that I expected a certain level of satisfaction, not perfection just competence, and I expected an amicable experience, and that his work is a reflection of his work ethic and reputation. I don't want someone in my home that is seething and bitter about the agreed upon price if they felt it was too low, he shouldn't have accepted the offer if he didn't like the price. He then basically rage quit like a video gamer and cancelled the appointment on me. Never quite had an experience like that, normally get along quite well with service people I hire. I feel a bit relieved like I dodged one, there's a resentful energy there that made me feel very uncomfortable. I think he is newer and needs to work on his soft people skills, not sure why he felt the need to tell me how much he resented the job while booking it, as he said he was "critiquing my mentality" for daring to negotiate a lower price. Hopefully its a growing/learning opportunity for him, hope he changes his attitude and builds a successful business.

If I could put zero stars, I would!!! When we hired Michael, he told us that he would take 2 full days off from his other work and solely perform work on our home in Oct. it is mid November & he didn’t even get halfway through our project. We had to hire another electrician to fix the mess he left in our attic, which were open boxes of electrical wires - a fire hazard. He got sick on the two days he was supposed to come, and we were patient enough to wait for him to return from an out of town schedule - which is something we came to regret. He told us he would return with a helper upon return to finish the work. That helper was not an electrician, and he most certainly did NOT finish the work. He then kept telling us that there was no set schedule, that he was only one person, and lastly, that he would never agree to such a schedule because “he is only one person & takes 30-45 days to finish his projects” - we would NEVER have agreed to that!!! Who the heck wants someone coming into their home for that kind of time??!! The ONLY work he performed was adding pot lights in our living room, killing some switches in the dining room, removing wires, and moving a switch in the dining room and in the kitchen. He worked incredibly slowly, took 3 hour lunch breaks, or would only work half days when he promised to work all day. We still do NOT have lighting in our bedrooms, and we still do NOT have outlets or lighting in our bathroom - all of which were in the original contract that we signed with him. After he no showed, & did not respond to numerous texts asking what happened or if he was coming (for the second time), we decided to sever ties, and hired another electrician. The new electrician had to fix things Michael had done, and cost us $1320. Michael then contacted us stating that he would put a lien on our home to collect the additional money he felt he was owed for “labor”. STAY AWAY from this guy! He is super slow, unreliable, does not communicate well, is apparently sick often, and goes “out of town” when he is supposed to show up at your house. He will also not respond to texts or phone calls.

I highly recommend the Spark Doctor, Vince. He not only does good work, but he explains what he’s doing and answers my questions in a way that a non-electrician can understand. Good work, done efficiently and neatly, accompanied by comprehensible explanations—it’s a great combination. I will definitely call on him when I need electrical work done.
