Rose city is a great company. They were at our house the day after we called them to see the what needed to be done and give us a quote. Every other company we called said it would be a week just to come look. At the time we had no hot water, a week for a quote was not on the agenda. After we approved the quote Rose City was there again the next day. Tony the electrician was wonderful, he even answered all of questions of my very curious 5 year old. I could tell that the owner of the company Jerry really cares about his customers. I highly recommend Rose City electric.

I called to Rose City Electric as we didn't have power in upstairs bathroom and bedroom. Electrician from Rose City electric came at 3:31PM (he called me when he was outside the house at that time) and ended up working for 2hrs (left around 5:30PM) and couldn't figure out the issue. Suggested it could be GFCI related but couldn't find and confirm. So he left without fixing the issue.

Today I received a bill for $500 from Rose City Electric stating electrician was there for 2.5hrs!

I called to Rose City Electric to dispute the timing for work as I have call record stating he came at 3:31PM and they mentioned they have tracker he was there at 3PM and can't do anything to change the invoice. She wouldn't believe me that he came at 3:31PM as that is from call record!

So I ended up paying for 2.5hr instead of 2hrs he worked and in the end the issue is not resolved.

Just disappointed by the whole experience. Next time I will choose someone else and suggest you all to do the same.

    Disappointed.

Rose City Electric was fantastic from the start. Their communications were friendly and prompt, their technicians completed the job exactly in the manner (and at the time) that they said it would be, and the cost was in line with the estimate. I will definitely use them again. I had a hard time finding someone who would agree to do this particular project but it was no problem for them.

Before allowing this contractor to do any work on your home, I recommend receiving a quote and a full understanding of potential charges. I had a simple installation - install a wire from an existing switch box to an existing ceiling fan. The electrician was at my home for 1 hour with an apprentice. I now have an invoice for over $600 with barely any information. I requested a detailed breakdown of costs and was surprised to find out I was not only charged $275 for the first hour but additional charges for the apprentice. Makes me wonder how much I would have been charged had they showed up with multiple people... was I supposed to tell the electrician, no this is a one person job I don't want to be charged for two people?

Rose City Electric went above and beyond. We had an emergency issue at our home and Rose City was quick and responsive. Destiny and Arthur were so friendly, helpful, and professional, and they both went out of their way to resolve our issue. Our family is so grateful! We also appreciated the transparent, upfront pricing, which was quoted to us during our initial conversation. We will use Rose City Electric for all of our future electrical work.

I hired their services to install an outdoor GFCI outlet on a location difficult to access. The outlet tripped constantly, which was an inconvenience due to the inaccessibility of the location. I called Rose City Electric to let them know about the issue and they sent an electrician to correct the issue. There was a miscommunication on whether the job was under warranty and the owner, Jerry, called me directly and very graciously discussed the misunderstanding. It is obvious that he cares about his customers and the good reputation of his business. A pleasure to work with people with integrity!

I was looking to get a new panel. Their estimator pointed out to me that if I was going to have the house inspected that my meter wouldn't pass inspection which the 2 other people I had out had not told me! So he saved me time and money quoting the job for both services. And if you are wondering when the city inspector came out to locate where the new meter should be placed, he told me that the estimator was correct. The job was well done they cleaned up after themselves and worked in a timely manner. I absolutely would recommend Rose City to anyone!

Can be very slow to respond, difficult to communicate with, and poor attention to detail. They made some changes to what was planned on the day of the work and I don't feel they were very reasonable in adjusting the cost to reflect that. Also caused some unnecessary ceiling damage. The electrician was pleasant to work with, but every other interaction felt like pulling teeth. Had to call and send multiple emails to get a simple response to questions.

The front desk staff ( Rhiana) was great at first and attempted to help me coordinate service. Once I got the invoice I was unpleasantly surprised by the high cost. She was less than understanding and deflected blame first to my HVAC guy for the poor ( and costly) timing of installation and then to her electrician for poor communication on charges. Rose City turned out to be more expensive than who we've used in the past . I will not use them again. Get a written estimate from them , shop around, and make sure any communication is completely pinned down if you use them ! The electrician they sent out (Tashi) was super competent and pleasant.

Very negative experience. In November, they came out to install an outlet (in a place where we already had power) for a stove we'd ordered. When scheduling we included the required specs of the stove.

The electrician arrived and proceeded to spend 3.5 hours at our place---except that over half of that was not spent in our place, but doing something unexplained out in their van. The only explanation we got was toward the end, when he admitted he kept going back to the van because he was just waffling back and forth about what spec to install... and he ended up just installing the original spec we had emailed them. I was sitting there the entire time and saw how little work and how much puttering they did.

So we were surprised to receive an invoice for the full 3.5 hours+... an $800 invoice for installing one outlet where we already had power, and the person was in our home for well less than 2 actual hours.

So I responded the next day to explain my concern, and said I would be happy to pay for 2 hours (even though they weren't even working for that much time).

Nobody responded, until we received a demand to pay the invoice a month later, with no mention or response to my concerns.

From there things devolved: Jerry was incredibly rude, and at no point actually responded to our specific concern, that the person was not working anywhere near the billed amount of time. I even offered to jump on the phone and talk through it like adults, and instead Jerry just said he rejected any offer to compromise and threatened to take my wife to collections (though he couldn't spell her name right).

At no point has he ever offered to talk through our actual concern, and just assured us they were a reputable company and I was being unreasonable---never a great sign if you have to tell clients you are reputable instead of, you know, just showing it by actually being professional.

We also had an additional issue: After we initially had the outlet installed, the new stove wouldn't work, and the stove installer told us based on the symptoms it could well be a problem with the outlet installation (which, once we could see the outlet when the stove was removed, we saw to have been very sloppily installed). Not shockingly, Jerry's immediate response was that there wasn't a problem with it (without looking at it or actually asking any questions about it). After back and forth he did offer to have someone come look at it---but at this point we don't want anything to do with these folks anymore, and will be looking elsewhere for another electrician to check and tidy up their work.

So we basically paid $800 for 2 hours of work and the honor of being insulted and dismissed by Jerry, and we're basically back at square one.

I can also predict, based on their responses to their other negative reviews, that they will offer an argumentative and dismissive response here---I encourage others to read through those and their response here to see the kind of response you'll get if you raise any concerns with them.

Edit based on their response: This wasn’t about “bills stacking up,” although that ridiculous non-sequitur insult does track Jerry’s communication style. Unsurprisingly, they’ve raised totally new information here that they’ve never mention when we asked for *any* justification— this is the first time we have heard about “a special breaker“, nor have they ever explained why it took *2 hours* to deliver that… nor why we should have been billed for those hours (especially when we had already emailed them the specs in advance of the appointment, as I indicated above, so the breaker was absolutely not “special” despite their weak justification).

Oh, and they absolutely did not offer “multiple times” to come look at it. Jerry offered that once, after he had already rejected any reasonable discussion—so no, we did not want them back in our home again.

I am shocked that if that’s the best response they have, that they have really stuck to their guns on this. They absolutely deserve this one star review.

I am very pleased with the installation service of my Generac generator. This service was provided by Nathan who owns and has run his own business, Rose City Electric LLC for the past eleven years. Nathan, who is very professional and knowledgeable, provided personalized and dedicated service. He was always prompt and on time. He was very detailed oriented during the installation process explaining and keeping me informed every step of the way. Nathan, who is very efficient, made sure I understood the electrical and diagnostic testing process that was performed. He was also available (on site and off site) to answer any questions I had. His work ethics are superb and I have peace of mind that I got the best service. I am very satisfied with the job Nathan did and would highly recommend him for any residential and commercial electrical work.
