Highly skilled team of tree lovers. They took care to carefully cut down a hazardous cottonwood in my garden. Would highly recommend & definitely my go-to for tree service!

We had a large tree fall into our property, narrowly missing our house and blocking the street for neighbor's access. Discerning Beaver sent out an arborist immediately and had the road cleared before the city crew was even dispatched. Over the next two days, Discerning Beaver was able to remove the rest of the fallen tree from our yard, taking great care to protect the plants and shrubs that were not damaged by the tree. Furthermore, they removed the remaining portions of the tree still standing and at risk of falling on our house. All crew were professional, tidy, and communicative. We feel fortunate to have found this company to help us through this ordeal.

Amazing job! Odaya and his crew showed up promtly on time, and worked dilligently until the job was done. I appreciate their hard work, friendly demeanor, and great pricing. Not to mention, their dragon wood-chipper is a sight to behold. Highly recommend!

This is the 3rd time we have hired Discerning Beaver Urban Forestry to thin and trim our two large maple street trees. The company does high quality work. The owner listens to my input regarding what I want to accomplish and takes into consideration the tree health, aesthetics and fire resilience. He is careful not to damage the landscaping under the trees and does a through cleanup. We find him to be timely, responsive and easy to work with.

Odaya and his team did an excellent job removing a dying street tree in front of our home. He was communicative throughout the process, clearly explaining each step of the removal and even helping us choose a suitable replacement tree. We got several other bids for the job, but Discerning Beaver came in several hundred dollars lower from the start. Interestingly, once we mentioned their quote, other companies quickly offered to match it—but only after the fact, which made us feel like they weren’t offering a fair price upfront. We really appreciated the transparency and professionalism from Odaya and his crew. Highly recommended.

Odaya and his team were timely, professional, respectful, kind, thoughtful, provided education when asked, and hard working. I wish that I knew of their services sooner to assist with the care of the variety of trees on our property. I will definitely contact them in the future as the needs arise.

These guys are the BEST! I have some ancient, giant trees that they take care of every year for me and they had to do some pretty ambitious, and seriously impressive zip lining of huge cut branches over my house. All done safely and perfectly. 10/10

We had a great experience with the Discerning Beaver Urban Forestry Company. Odaya and his crew were super knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to communicate with. They showed up on time, got right to work, and removed our dead tree quickly and safely. We’ll definitely call them again for any future tree projects!

For over 10 years, we have used Discerning Beaver to do tree work on a number of our trees, some of which are very big. They listen well and bring considerable knowledge in evaluating the work to be done. They also work closely with neighbors for trees that border their properties. We and our neighbors respect their skill, as they do an excellent job at a reasonable price.

During the weekend we received a photo from a renter at one of our properties which showed a split tree limb that was threatening to takeout his cable line. I contacted Odaya and he was kind enough to adjust his Mondays workload and that afternoon removed the menacing limb and other ones that potentially could cause future problems. He and his assistant Ronan cleaned up all of the debris in a timely manner and the property looks great. We appreciate his immediate response to our issue and his overall professionalism.
