The designer (Steve) came out first to walk the property with me and note things I wanted which was primarily hard-scape of a paver path. I asked him to suggest other plantings and I also needed front door planters. I received a prompt bid and plant lists and I loved all of it. The install crew came and work was completed timely, beautifully and with excellent workmanship. The crew left our place looking impeccable. Their finish was remarkable. Really enjoyed working with Bulmaro and the crew. It’s just beautiful!

Paul Marshall handled all my irrigation issues and made excellent suggestions for managing my watering zones. Thanks SO much!

The challenge: At a time of significant labor shortages and high demand, would our relatively modest landscape refresh project truly receive the attention necessary to achieve a high-quality outcome, on time, and at a reasonable budget? Would we “fall to the bottom of the list?” Would our landscape contractor perform all services within our stringent HOA guidelines regarding project duration, materials storage and handling, and quality standards?

My wife and I are delighted (and relieved) to say, without qualification: Yes(!), if the landscape partner is Drake’s 7 Dees.

Our project was completed on schedule, on budget, and the communication from beginning to end was top notch. The Drake’s 7 Dee’s team is comprised of dedicated landscape professionals, not random day-labor temporary hires. Tim Sellin was our project lead, and he was outstanding. Professional, a terrific listener, and a very proactive communicator. Apromiano and Jose were amazing, handling the heavy lifting of the paver work, plant and shrub removal/install, and installing a stepped pathway and a level crushed gravel bed under our back deck to address slope and drainage issues. And Lee nailed it in dialing in our rather complete irrigation system refit.

After looking at the portfolio of amazing landscape design work imagined and installed by the Drake’s 7 Dees team, we wondered if our humble project was the right “fit” for them. In the end, we would have never known the difference as they treated us as if our project were the most important one on their list. We are very happy we engaged them for our project and feel justified in giving them our highest recommendation.

Our experience with 7 Dees was great from start to finish. The design team met with us on site at our home. We gave them our wish list and they had great suggestions. 7 Dees took our drawings and brought our ideas to life. Our design had several elements and we got to work with a few different contractors. All of the 7 Dees contractors we worked with for our paver patios, the water feature, our stairs, deck and hot tub pergola were exceptional. When we had questions or concerns, they were addressed. When they saw things that would help like drainage, they let us know. The craftsmanship for our hot tub structure was beyond our expectations. Just beautiful. There is no way to express how much we love our back yard now. It is a beautiful oasis that we will enjoy for years to come.

Drake’s 7 Dees provided outstanding service from start to finish. The Scout and their dispatch team quickly responded to an irrigation leak issue, the onsite representative Norman quickly identified the leaks and made repairs, and he took the extra step of inspecting the entire sprinkler system to ensure everything was working properly. Scheduling was smooth, communication was clear throughout, and the payment process was simple and hassle-free. Their team was professional, prompt, and courteous — excellent customer service! Highly recommend!

D7D turned the small rectangular back yard behind my condo -- an eyesore of weeds and dirt -- into a lovely and functional space. From the design by Steven, to the construction by the project team, to the walk-through at the end, and at every step in between, I was wowed by the professionalism of D7D. Earlier in my life, I had hired excellent landscapers for a home in San Francisco and later for a home in Seattle, and the D7D experience was by far the best. I made some special requests along the way, all of which were honored and delivered, and in addition I felt that the value for my money couldn't have been better. Friends who have seen the final result can't believe how little it cost me, especially given the challenges of the space, which needed to be leveled. All in all, an excellent experience and I highly recommend this company!!

Working with Karen on our landscape design in the Portland West Hills was an absolute pleasure. She brought a thoughtful vision to our front yard, introducing beautiful new dogwood trees that now frame our walkway perfectly and add a sense of privacy and charm.

Karen also provided detailed design plans and plant selections that completely transformed our garden beds. What was once bare dirt through winter and early spring is now a sophisticated, lush landscape with year-round greenery and seasonal blooms. Her eye for balance, color, and structure has truly elevated our home’s curb appeal.

Throughout the process, Karen was flexible with scheduling, extremely responsive to follow-up questions, and personally checked in several times during installation to make sure everything was done correctly.

We couldn’t be happier with the results — the new design brings warmth, elegance, and lasting beauty to our home. I highly recommend Karen to anyone looking for exceptional landscape design expertise in the Portland area.

Love this company for sprinkler repairs! I’ve had two services performed. Today’s required digging 2’ down to find a break in a sprinkler pipe in a bed next to our pool. Norman got the job done with a smile and even replaced another area’s bad sprinkler head while he was waiting for glue to dry. I’ll come back to these guys again!

We had drake’s do design and install of outdoor lighting throughout our front and backyard, planting plans and replanting of front and backyard, and graveling and reshaping our pathway.

The plans Tim made were fantastic and created with our exact specifications and aesthetic in mind. We have dogs and he was able to find us beautiful and dog safe plants for our backyard. All details and scheduling were handled quickly with their project manager and last minute change orders we added were not a problem. Would absolutely recommend and use them again for the future!

This review has been needed to be written for awhile. SO, here it goes. We relocated to Portland the winter of 2020. Crazy time in the world and a new adventure for us for sure. We purchased a 1910 farmhouse that was being eaten alive by the landscape. We decided to start over and rip everything out and let this old gal breathe. Spring 2021 arrived and we realized we had a sweet little gem within walking distance from us...Drakes 7 Dees. From day one I have had nothing but the most gracious interactions with each person who works there. Fast forward to August 2023...hundreds of exterior plants...so many interior plants...and probably more than 100 hours of advice given, we now have a yard that is the talk of the town. We have purchased all our plants for our landscaping needs from Drakes. With the advice and knowledge of everyone there, my husband and I took on a challenge of digging holes and amending soil and creating the garden of our dreams. I wish I could remember the name of each person who has helped me but I for sure need to give a huge thank you to Patrick, Franny, Celina, Karen, Miles, Gavin...I know I am missing some of my favorite people but I hope they know they have been equally important in the transformation of our once neglected yard. SOOOOO...I definitely recommend Drakes 7 Dees for all your indoor and outdoor planting needs!

So here we are late spring 2025 and what a transformation this little farm has had. So many wonderful ideas, plants and friendships have been found at Drakes! We may have planted them all but we could not have done it without every single one of you!!! Patton for life…thank you!!

Beautiful design followed up by an implementation team that did a perfect and professional job. My only complaint is that there was a major disconnect between the initial rough estimate and the cost at presentation time. I would have liked updated estimates as we added to the project. But they made up for this with a beautiful landscape!

Blessings Landscape recently completed a landscape project for us which they designed and built. Our small front and back yard had no landscaping except for a fence which we installed a couple of years ago. We wanted to turn it into a beautiful, low maintenance urban oasis. We love the transformation they made to our yard, enjoyed the design process, and appreciated the layer of management that kept everyone on the same page. It was delight to having Blessing Landscape design, build, and manage our project!

I feel so lucky to have found Blessing Landscapes to work on my yard. My home's landscaping had had little updates in the past 30 years and the prior owners let the grass die off and didn't prune anything for many years. Parts of the lawn were a boggy mess, my deck was rotting, the moss had overtaken the grass - it was bad! I had some very specific requests, including a new deck, and I didn't want to hire just anyone for this overhaul. I did a lot of research and reached out to various companies before deciding on Blessing. Roger created a beautiful design that was thoughtfully planned out with everything I was looking for, including a new deck design. Sarah worked with me closely on the logistics and pricing of all that the design entailed. Jacob discussed every detail of the project with me from the sprinklers to the hardscaping to future plant care. Cristian and Abel did phenomenal work with all of the removal, planting, irrigation system updates, etc and routinely checked with me to see if I wanted any changes made or needed them to do anything. Overall it's been a stellar experience. I noticed some other reviews complained about the pricing. If you are looking for the cheapest landscaper on Google, this isn't them. You are paying for high quality work, which I consider to be an investment on my home.

We LOVE this company! When something needs doing, they do it — and on a timely basis. They’ve planted new landscaping, fixed a major leak in our irrigation system, provided yard maintenance — and everything has been wonderfully done. They are friendly, helpful, considerate, and accommodating to their very best ability. Smiles can even be felt through the phone. So glad we found them!

I am reviewing a large (for us) project that we had Blessings complete for us in May. A bit late on the review, only because we have been spending all of our time in our amazing new space. Rebecca absolutely nailed our design...and we were of no help to her (neither of us have an eye for design). She listened very closely to what we really wanted and did a fantastic job maximizing our modest budget. Ricardo was a great crew foreman and worked some magic with our old sprinkler system to update it and still save us some money. Hernandez and crew were incredible, friendly and very respectful of the property. They worked so hard to realize Rebecca's design through the craziest spring weather. We had a small hiccup with polysand scheduling and some of the work to finish up our patio, but Blessings shined through with their customer service to make it right and the finished product makes us so incredibly happy. We still have a lot of work to do, so we are putting money in the piggy bank until we can have Blessings come back for the next protect.
