I couldn't recommend John more. From start to finish it was a professional experience.

I am a returning customer. Last year they pruned my fruit trees and now came back for a larger job. Very knowledgeable and great at what they do. A company you can trust.

This company responded quickly to my inquiry and setup a time to look at the property and provide a quote asap. The work was done on time, professional and pleasant. Very happy with results.

I'm absolutely delighted to have found NW Tree Work. We received first-class service from Remy and his team, helping us find the best solution to deal with a large tree in our yard and work with PG&E to address power-line and safety concerns. We will DEFINITELY be working with Remy again, and I will be recommending NW Tree Work to anyone who mentions a tree issue.

I called and communicated with the owner and owner's wife a few times and within days a very professional team came out and got to work on my medium sized tree that was leaning precariously near power lines and my roof! By noon the tree was denuded and branches were thru the chipper. Another team showed up for the stump grinding and did split the larger pieces into fire wood size logs for my fireplace! Everything was cleaned up and neat when they left. I am really blown away how quick and professional the whole team was and how just everyone from A to Z was great I thought the price was very good too considering the training it takes to do this type of work. My neighbors are interested in getting trees tamed now and I would totally recommend this place to anyone!

We have contacted John at NW Tree Work twice in the last year for help with two different trees at our house. Both times we were grateful for NW Tree Work's quick and professional response . In one instance, we hired them for tree removal and also had damage to a tree which required an arborist to evaluate.

This contractor gave me a quote, a negotiated flat dollar amount, for the work I had requested. I hired this company thru Thumbtack. This was my project request: "There are multiple trees along the north side of my property line. I want all the branches and limbs that hang over to my side cut back." This was the job description on the estimate: "All trees along the north property line will have limbs pruned up and away from property line for maintenance."

Communication was good until the day of work, cleanup was complete on site following the work.

When I got home from work and they had already left there were at least 30' of cherry and oak branches still hanging over my deck and back yard, which was the main reason I had hired them to do the work. When I inquired about this I was told that city codes prevented them from cutting to the top and their job was done. Questions about this resulted with arms thrown in the air with the owner saying, "I don't know what else to say, you hired a Certified Arborist that knows how to do the work, and met with the Master Arborist on site today" followed by a gracious offer to work with me and my neighbor to remove the trees in the future. He also said he had worked x amount of hours at $x/hr and I got more than what I paid for. The quote he provided me was for the JOB not for hourly work.

I have no problem with laws and codes. What I do have a problem with is not communicating this to the me or discussing this BEFORE agreeing on a price when what I wanted was in violation of the rules. (The "Master Arborist" owner was the one who wrote the quote, BTW). This was NEVER discussed until AFTER they had come and gone and I had noted the obvious omission of work I had requested which THEY HAD QUOTED in their bid to perform.

Since what I wanted was never completed "per code" I may have opted to not have the work done until addressing the issue with the City so I could actually get what I wanted done. But they never gave me that chance.

    Wouldn't hire again. Buyer Beware!

They were here Wednesday, 11/15, to top and prune two ash trees. What work that was done was done well, and cleanup was excellent. But I feel that not enough of the trees was removed, and they charged $500 for an hour's work. I'm not upset, just a little disappointed. Note: your response notwithstanding, it still feels like less was done than earlier was agreed on.

Kind, professional, and did great work.

To extrapolate a bit more - I had time constraints that they were able to accommodate while still getting it done quickly and efficiently.

There's absolutely no question that I'd go to them again for arborist work. Thanks John & crew!

John from NW Tree Work was referred to me by my neighbor. When he came to provide an estimate to trim our giant ash tree, I approved and he said he would contact me to set up scheduling. I amazed when they could do the job only a few days later. Very professional! They climb without spike shoes, so no damage to the trunk. They were also able to cut some of the further out branches, reducing weight without removing whole limbs. They'll be my go-to tree service for the life of that tree.

Had high hopes after seeing this company preform some work. John came out and surveyed the work I had taking out two large firs and gave me a bid. After reviewing and accepting ,still had high hopes. Two possible dates were set by John in our initial phone conversation and I asked for a call to verify date when he knew better so that I could call the utility and have them remove my electrical service to facilitate ease of tree coming down. Well ,after that feel like a ghosted date, a week of calls and texts not returned I manage to get a hold of John to have him feign surprise there’s a service I need to have removed for him and he asks to call me back but says he wants to come a day early and trim branches before the crane comes to remove the main trunk. Foolishly I agree to a call back and again ask for a firm date and I’ll have the power company there for their 10 minutes of work to cut my service. Low and behold 6 days of numerous calls and texts and one email Tanya finally emails and says the job is more complicated than thought at the price they quoted and they weren’t aware of a power line that was in the way. Good luck with another contractor is her sign off.

I met a NW Tree Work crew while driving in a friend’s neighborhood and stopped for a card. John, who is an arborist and headed the crew, came forward and was very welcoming. I remembered, and as I had a very old, large and tall maple that was throwing tree sized branches at my house during the ice storm, I called. The crew arrived, and each of them struck me with their expertise, total focus on their task, and their friendliness. The tree climber who actually took the tree down is very meticulous in his planning for how pieces will fall as well as his personal safety. They also fell two additional trees, topped a pear tree so we may actually be able to pick pears, limbed the lower part of a group of very old and large firs, cleared some brush, and I chose to have them leave me a huge pile of wood chips after they chipped all debris not large enough for me to use as firewood. They would have hauled everything away for an extra fee, but I wanted the chips and wood. They did a great job of clean-up, and I am completely satisfied with the process from start to finish. I highly recommend them.

I contacted NW Tree Works for to bid pruning some fruit trees. I do not live at the property currently, so I went specifically for the appointment. After waiting 10 minutes past the scheduled time I called. They informed me that they were running late, but would be there shortly. 10 minutes later I received a phone call asking for my address and that he would arrive in 20 minutes. 30 minutes later (almost 1 hour after the scheduled appointment) he arrived. We have a quick conversation and he says it would be $500. I said that sounded great, could he email the bid? He said that wouldn't be a problem, that he would write it up and send the $500 bid over. I said I had a couple more bids the next day and would let him know shortly. He said okay, and left.

I following day I had not received the bid via email, so I followed up. Late in the evening I receive an email of a bid for $775. I contacted him asking why he sent a $775 bid, when we had discussed $500. He said, "That was a do it now price and you said you were getting more bids so I itemized it for you to compare prices". I responded, "That's confusing. You did not mention anything like that when you came out. You never said when you were available." He has not responded.

I get the sales tactic of a "buy-it now" price. However, that was not what was communicated. It was very rude, extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

John did a great job pruning our dogwood tree! It looks so much better and he gave us good advice on how to keep it healthy. He was thorough and efficient. He came out to give us an estimate and he ended up calling shortly after he left saying he could get it done that same day which was awesome! We would highly recommend NW tree works.

I had a great experience with John and his team from NW Tree Work. I had a large tree choked with ivy in my backyard. I received quotes from 4 local contractors, and John's quote was only a little more than the least expensive quote which was offered under pressure "only if I book this week." Further, his level of knowledge and competence was extremely clear from the way he assessed the job and provided the quote. His team was very respectful and efficient - they navigated my narrow lot and protected my siding with plywood. They encountered unexpected circumstances - a neighbor's dead tree was dangerously leaning on mine. They helped me manage communication with my neighbor, and were up front about what to expect. Even with the added work, the job was completed in less time than expected, and they left my yard clean. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the experience and will recommend their services in the future.

NWTreeWork is a fantastic company! Top notch professional, priced well, timely, excellent work, very engaged to ensure expectations are met and then some, great clean up post the job as well! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! LOOK NO FURTHER! This is THE company to use. John knows his stuff and his crew is great! I felt compelled to let others know.
