Landscaping reviews in Salem, Oregon

We first hired David about ten years ago to repair our sprinkler system. He was very reasonably priced and worked quickly and efficiently. Five years later we built a house in Independence and got bids from Norway Landscaping and two other companies to install a buried sprinkler system on an extensive system of flower/shrub beds on the 1 acre cleared lot within a 5-acre oak forest, and place topsoil on about 1/2 acre around the house and plant a microclover-grass seed mix. David’s bid was competitive and we hired Norway. They completed the job on-time, on-budget, and David and his son and his father did a great job. While trenching they accidentally cut through and ripped out a small stretch of our invisible dog fence, which was my fault because I forgot to tell them about it. Plus it’s invisible. I bought some new wire, and they kindly and conscientiously repaired it. He also agreed to make a trip out to our property in the fall that first year, to show me how to shut down the sprinkler system. He came back in the spring and adjusted some sprinklers for me. The icing on the cake however, is that yesterday I was out watering some ornamentals we’d planted last fall, and when i finished and drove away, the hose got snagged on the Gator hitch. I didn’t notice until I looked back to see if my dogs were there, and I saw a 6 foot géiser of water coming from where I had ripped the spigot that the hose was attached to, right out of the ground.. Doh! Disaster. I had to shut down the water to the sprinklers. It’s going to be hot and our beds need water daily. I called Norway Landscape and explained my problem and David agreed to come out first thing the next morning! He was there by 9am and had it repaired by 10am. Great service for a fair price. Norway Landscape is my “goto” landscaping company. I highly recommend hiring them for major landscaping projects.

Norway Landscape just completed a full landscape of our back and side yards. We have a very steep, sloping lot. Before they started it was a big mud pile with a steep drop off on one side and in back - completely un-useable. David created a plan for retaining walls, drainage, paths, steps, stairs and plants. We requested no grass and easy maintenance as well as access all around the home and yard. We are thrilled with the results! The photos do not even do it justice. David and his team worked hard to create a beautiful and fully accessible, useable yard. He added extra drainage, shored up all the retaining walls with backfilled gravel, created lovely steps and paths around both sides of the home and backyard with a drip watering system as we requested. We highly recommend this company and would hire them again in a heartbeat! They are detail oriented, really listen, professional and came in on bid with the project. So glad we chose Norway Landscape!

Great people, super friendly and beautiful work. Would use them again.

Ben and Eric are very thorough and they actually work! I was hesitant about hiring them because they charge by the hour, not by the job. I'm very impressed with their work.

I needed a yearly backflow test for the city and when Ben and his fellow worker arrived they also diagnosed and fixed and completely replaced all broken parts in under an hour and a half. Great business great people great quality and just great everything!

Eden's Image Landscaping recently did a job for us that was paid for by the City of Turner and was grossly overpriced by Eden's for the materials and work put in. Go figure. Ben saw an opportunity to take advantage of City funds. I highly recommend NOT doing business with him.

Our HOA landscape team has used Edens Image several times to repair our sprinkler and low voltage lighting system. When it came time to replace and install new landscaping in our common areas we were happy to find that their bid was the best of several. Now that the work is complete, we could not be more pleased. They gave us the best price and performed their work professionally and ahead of schedule. When unexpected problems were found, they assisted us find an electrician who could make repairs at a fair price. Very impressed with this group and would recommend them highly.

A really nice selection of flowers and landscaping items. The prices were a bit high, and as far as I could tell they didn't have any Memorial Day Weekend sales. But the staff was friendly and it's always nice to support local business.

Most of their employees are very helpful. I have had a couple experiences with people at the front registers being grumpy or slightly rude, like I'm interrupting their standing around time or something. They have great bulk products. Their red fir even had Murel mushroom spores and over last spring I was able to sell rare morel mushrooms that grew out of it. Also I like that they have cats and a dog walking around to greet customers.

They had what I wanted, and the plants were healthy and priced well. Nice people, too!

First time coming today! I really enjoyed it. Got a few plants and hope to get more in the future. Such a beautiful place!
I also noticed they had a cat donation jar, for all the fereal kitties that have showed up over the years at the garden. That really warmed my heart!! Not many places always care. I couldn’t help but donate and ask what it was for or about.
I hope to come back again very very soon. -
I have now been to this nursery three times and although it’s absolutely beautiful, the prices are high and the service is horrible. There is an older lady that works in the gift shop area and she has never been kind or helpful. I hate to say older lady because I feel that’s rude but I don’t want any of the younger gals to be blamed for her inability to provide good customer service. Today she was very rude to a young adult/fellow employee. She was then very rude to us and incredibly condescending. I love shopping there, even spending the extra money because it’s local, however I will not give them my business or time from here. One sour apple!!

Such a beautiful place with gorgeous plants and helpful staff. We got a good start on our Spring purchases but have to go home and get the truck. BRB!

Very nice place, a lot larger than the street view intimates.
Large eclectic collection of quality plants and decoration for your outdoor space.
Staff friendly and vastly knowledgeable, as the need to be. From koi pond to conifers, they really do pack an amazing amount and variety of merchandise into this plot.
Christmas trees during the holidays. Seasonal items come out for all the annual events.
The art pieces are scattered throughout the gardens, blending in and provoking thoughtful pauses. Keep your eyes open some are original beauties. -
Really wanted to like this place and made a few different trips. Super unfriendly staff. Lady at checkout acts like you’re inconveniencing her by spending your money there. Prices are high compared to other local places. Try Godfrey nursery or Bauman Farms. Much nicer staff, better selection, healthier plants and better prices.

Best place to grab some beautiful shrubbery and a pint of some delicious beer or cider!
-
Excellent service from employees and wide variety of plants, flowers, and shrubs to choose from.

This nursery is the best! The selection is incredible and the plants and veggies are all of superior quality. The staff is quite knowledgeable and helpful. They are also taking pains to enforce social distancing and hygiene during this COVID crisis. Plants are a little pricey, but usually worth it. I highly recommend.

One of the best Nurseries around. Worth a visit. Great plant and flower specimens and well designed grounds.

Best overall nursery AND gift shop in Salem. Their selection of gifts, plants, garden supplies, deck furnishings and pond supplies is absolutely incredible. Above all, the knowledge they offer is second to none and there is never a shortage of customer service.
