Landscaping reviews in Salem, Oregon

Lovely place to walk around with the toddler. The staff are very friendly. Will always go here to buy plants and support locally. The koi fish are fun to watch. I think my daughter would live here if she could.
Last year I was looking for a plant to help with the flies on my porch and I found a unique vase carnivores plant. Super cool and it is still alive. No more Flys! -
Really cool decorations. I need to go back and get this gargoyle! Can't wait to see what they have in the spring.

Always go to Guetner's before in Salem before anywhere else bc they have been so helpful and knowledgeable about plants, trees and shrubs when we need them.
They have a great variety and they are very healthy. -
Lovely place for plants and a relaxing time. A magical feel surrounded by little ponds and bridges.

When I moved here 2 years ago, my first spring/summer I was super excited to go explore the nursery right down the road from me. I worked in a nursery back home so I was very interested to see how this one compared. Heck, I even thought about applying for a job and bringing in my expertise. While they have amazing decor, gifts and plants the customer service was just horrible! I don't usually write reviews unless they are good ones because I understand that people have bad days or there may be circumstances beyond their control. But after going there a few times since I have to say that is not the case. I read the entire list of reviews and it appears I am not the only one who has had a bad experience with the same mean old woman. She is just awful. If she is not the owner, she should be fired. If she is the owner she should hire people to do ALL of the customer service and stay behind the scenes. I gave this place plenty of chances. I will never go back.

Guentner's is simply, "garden bliss." There isn't another nursery that comes close. It's an oasis of natural beauty. I found a beautiful potted geranium, a delicate variegated pink, a color I hadn't seen anywhere else. Looking forward to sunshine next week and a return to this gorgeous natural oasis!

The pride of Salem, and one of the best nursery's in the Willamette Valley. Not only will you find a great selection of healthy plants, they stock many types of soil and fertilizers. The lot for Guentner's has whimsical garden statues / decor, and lots of pots & containers, plus gloves, tools and miscellaneous garden amendments inside their store (that also carries a variety of gifts and decor. Great parking lot. Highly recommend!

I once gave this place 3 stars because I felt that their prices were too high but they seemed to addressed this for the most part. It's nice to have good little nursery close to home.

One of my favorite nurseries! I love coming here to browse, get ideas, and come home with more houseplants. They have a great selection of pots, fertilizers, and soil mediums. The houseplant selection is always bountiful and healthy. I also love that they have a local produce stand that comes and sets up in the parking lot!

We took our small niece and she got to feed the Koi. My dog was with us and he was investigating this new species he had never seen before. It was precious. This place has so many plants You won't be disappointed. Also save some time to investigate their cute little store inside.

I ventured into Guentner's Gardens, a place that promised quaint charm and botanical delights, only to be met with the arctic chill of a certain employee. Picture this: a woman with short, steel-gray hair, her demeanor as prickly as a cactus in full bloom. Let's just say "customer service" was not in her vocabulary.
My simple inquiry about a specific plant size was met with a curt, "We have what we have," delivered with the kind of disdain usually reserved for someone who's just spilled coffee on her favorite rug. When I dared to ask about seedlings, her eyes narrowed, and she regarded me as if I'd just spoken in an alien tongue. It was clear I was wasting her precious time, a time she apparently preferred to spend glowering at innocent patrons.
The checkout process was a masterclass in passive-aggressive hostility. Each scan of my chosen plants was accompanied by a sigh that could have chilled a greenhouse. Then came the grand finale: a condescending inquiry about soil and fertilizer, followed by a theatrical "scuff" when I declined. It wasn't just rude; it was a performance, a one-woman show titled "How to Alienate Customers and Ruin a Small Business."
This woman's presence is a blight on Guentner's Gardens. In a world where small businesses rely on the warmth of their staff and the personalized touch that big box stores can't offer, she stands as a stark, icy reminder of how not to treat customers. Her behavior wasn't just off-putting; it was a glaring red flag, a neon sign screaming, "Turn back, ye who enter here!"
Imagine the potential customers she's driven away, the local plant enthusiasts who have walked out feeling insulted and demeaned. In a small community, word of mouth is everything, and this woman's attitude is a recipe for disaster. Guentner's Gardens, with its lovely plants and potential for charm, deserves better. It deserves someone who understands that a smile and a helpful attitude are as essential to a thriving business as sunlight and water are to its plants. This employee is not only a customer deterrent, she is a detriment to the very existence of a small business. -
This place always such a treat to visit! Such a selection! I always see something that I want to get my next visit, and staff is amazing and my fav is the GIANT GNOME 🤩

This is a wonderful, whimsical place of beauty and serenity for all ages to enjoy, with a beautiful well tended nursery and delightful indoor/outdoor accutriments to make every space beautiful.

It’s hard not to get inspiration for your home garden. Such a lovely selection of healthy plants. I need to come back with my sketchbook to properly plan out my garden choices… otherwise, I’d just end up buying plants all willy-nilly!!
