This is my second time working with Ecolandscapes. The first time was so successful and I found Dan Cleary to be extremely knowledgeable about plants and also creating a sustainable design.
Dan listened carefully to wants/needs. He considered our site, its situation and uniqueness and created a design that’s functional and beautiful. The design incorporates a mixed border planting with evergreens, flowering bushes, and some edibles. There is also a seating area where we have a fire table, a corner herb garden, and 2 large raised beds for veggies.
Our installation team included Mike, Matt, and Brandon who worked very hard to complete the job to my fall satisfaction. The guys did great work and had excellent customer service. Several of neighbors took Ecolandscape’s contact as a result of their great work!
The job was done in November 2018 and its winter now. Can’t wait for spring bloom!

Update: It’s July 2019, about 8 months since EcoLandscapes did our yard. It’s turned into an urban paradise. I’ve added photos so you can see how’s everything’s grown so far. The veggie and herb garden are my plantings, but I show them to illustrate the excellent soil amendments the team did!

Daniel, Mike and the rest of the team could not have been more professional throughout the entire landscaping process. Both were incredibly responsive and our house looks incredible! Will share pictures once the plants grow a bit. Cannot recommend EcoLandscapes enough!

We had a wonderful experience with EcoLandscapes Design, who built a new fence and raised bed and laid down a beautiful bluestone patio in our South Philly back yard. Dan is a creative, caring, and communicative business owner. His team, led by Seth, was an absolute pleasure to work with - they did a truly fantastic job and were so nice and helpful throughout.

After they were done, we had a small issue with drainage (because right after they laid down the patio, there were torrential downpours for days, not allowing our pavers to settle). I'm not kidding when I say within five minutes of emailing Dan on a Friday evening to let him know, he called us to say he and Seth were coming over right away to take a look. Because of continued bad weather, they had to come back a few times over the next few weeks to make sure everything was good.

Yes, they made our patio a little slice of heaven, but we were actually the most impressed with their post-project attentiveness and customer-focused desire to make everything right. Now we have a perfect space and can't wait to enjoy it over the summer! Highly, highly recommend!

EcoLandscapes did a fabulous job on my front garden. I can't wait to see the sunny garden by the front steps bloom next summer. They also tackled a difficult shady corner that was pretty much barren. It looks great now! They were easy to work with and very flexible. I would definitely recommend this company for your landscape project.

We had a fantastic experience with EcoLandscapes. We reached out for a full redesign of our (small) side and back yards, which were previously a combination of unusable asphalt, cement, and grass (mostly weeds). Daniel worked with us extensively through many changes to the design, brought great suggestions, and was a pleasure to collaborate with. We originally planned to get a few quotes, but Daniel was such a pleasure to work with and his quote was reasonable enough that we never felt the need to look elsewhere.

Seth and his team did a phenomenal job on the ground. He communicated exceptionally well with us, and he even collaborated with our neighbors about rain drainage flows and sprinkler spray! Also, they made surprisingly little noise considering how much asphalt they were tearing up.

The end result is a beautiful little oasis of beautiful wild flora and functional hardscaping. I write this while drinking a beer on a perfect evening in our perfect backyard, and couldn’t be happier.

We had EcoLandscapes recently come out to help us tackle some steep slopes with poor soil on our property. This is the kind of business you want to work with. Daniel was knowledgeable, pleasant, professional and responsive. His team, led by Mike, was great - careful and professional. My neighbors even commented on how great they were working (when I wasn't home during the day) which says a lot. We had a huge rocky, woodland meadow, a blooming pollinator bed and rain garden installed. Looks great now, can't wait to see they grow next spring!

My second time working with EcoLandscapes Design and I WILL be back! Best in the biz for pricing and service. They executed my boring fence line project in a day and a half and it’s everything I wanted! They also mulched my whole property, replaced under warranty two bushes that didn’t make it from 2020 (I can relate!) and added additional plants around my light post. So easy to work with and quality of work to price is fantastic. 10/10 highly recommend. Thank you!!!

I reached out to EcoLandscapes and consulted with Dan to discuss transforming the space around my home into a habitat for birds & pollinators as well as installing a raised vegetable garden. From the start, I was very impressed! Dan worked with me to create a vision of the new gardens and dedicated himself to selecting the very best plants & shrubs for the space. I appreciate that I could easily communicate with him in the planning phase as well as the transparency in pricing and timelines. Dan has great knowledge of plants, shrubs & trees. I appreciate that he worked with me to include plants I like with consideration of what worked best in the space.

In the planning process I asked if his team could install a pre-fab raised garden bed I purchased. Without hesitation he said it was not a problem. Team Leader Josh and his crew were assigned to my project. I can’t say enough about them - skilled, competent, professional and very hard working! Josh and his team went above and beyond to install the raised vegetable garden - I was blown away! They put such care and detail in the project. It far exceeded my expectations! Many thanks to Dan, Josh, his team and to Niki for selecting the most perfect tree. You guys are the best! Looking forward to working with you on future projects!

I highly recommend EcoLandscapes Design! They expanded our front landscape beds, installed new plants, and built a dry stack stone wall. The owner, Dan, was thorough and communicative, took the time to learn what I had in mind for the yard, and delivered a great design. His knowledge of plants, especially native plants, was extensive. The crew were friendly, professional, and hard-working. I appreciated the daily progress reports from the crew leader. No downsides to our experience!

Highly recommend—stop searching and reach out to this team! We had a fantastic experience with Dan, Seth, and the whole crew. They helped us bring a vision of a new walkway + colorful, naturalist beds to life. The communication from everyone involved was so thorough and helpful. Things were on time (even with some rain delays) and exactly as described. The end product is already better than we imagined and it’s only going to get better as the plants mature. The crew left everything clean and set us up for success with maintenance. Wonderful customer service from start to finish and really beautiful and creative work.

We had such a great experience with Dan and EcoLandscapes! He’s excellent at asking the right questions to get you the right landscaping/hardscaping for your yard and taste. The crew started right on time the first day—they explained everything and communicated throughout the process. I never felt out of the loop. They were friendly and easy to communicate with as well. On top of everything, they worked fast and efficiently and were done a bit early! I’m extremely pleased with the results.

I live in Media Borough and hired EcoLandscapes Design to renovate my front yard. Dan and Niki are professionals whom I trust both in plant selection and creative design. I requested an all perennial garden for a partially shaded space in the front of my house.
The installation team: Mike, Eddie, and Marco were friendly, accommodating, and incredibly efficient. The job required the removal of partially decomposed railroad ties in addition to existing groundcover. After removal of debris, the team installed boulders, topsoil, plantings, mulch, and even a rock swale to allow for proper drainage. It was an incredible amount of labor which they did proficiently! After the work was complete, Mike walked me through watering and care, and Dan provided additional care/maintenance details via email.
I am so pleased with my new front yard. I have already received compliments from my neighbors!

Ecolandscapes did a wonderful job converting a dirty, decrepit patio into a lovely plant-filled garden. The team - Mike, Marco and Eddie - were fantastic: on-time, courteous, and extremely capable. They were willing to innovate and adjust the design specs as the work progressed and our perspectives changed. They didn't just install a garden but went out of their way to make it beautiful by their attention to detail. Very highly recommended.

Dan converted our concept and sketch of a Japanese inspired garden for a 10 x 15’ patio space into a detailed computer aided design, which his expert landscaping team installed over 3 days in August. We really enjoyed working with Dan and the crew, and he also had very good recommendations for choice of plants and garden layout. We love the results, the garden is a wonderful addition to our home that we will really enjoy. We highly recommend EcoLandscapes Design!

From start to finish we are absolutely thrilled with the work. Our project included hardscaping and landscaping. Eco landscaping built retaining walls, replaced our fence, created a flagstone pathway, among other things. Daniel helped conceptualize our vision and his team, lead by Seth, executed our dream backyard above and beyond what we had originally even imagined. Communication has been excellent with Dan throughout the process. The team was also very courteous of our neighbors. We are excited to watch our garden grow and evolve. Dan and his team were amazing! The communication was great from the beginning and they started and finished the project on time and within our budget. We have lived in our house for 7 years and were so happy to finally get our yard done and now we actually want to spend time in it. There was one miscommunication about something that we thought was going to get done, but Dan took care of it and ended up including it which was great. The team was very professional and friendly and I could not recommend them enough--especially after we had some communication issues with a previous Landscaper.

In my opinion, you won’t be able find a better company than EcoLandscapes Design. They did a beautiful native plant design for my son’s new construction house and so I was happy to be able to hire them to completely redo the paths, patio, and plantings around my house. They were the most conscientious and pleasant workers to have around for this extended project. Their attention to detail and really wanting to do the job in a way that would perfectly satisfy the customer’s vision and preferences were so refreshing! At the beginning of the project, they worked with me from a landscape architect’s design to reduce the number of plants and the scope of the project, so that I could fit it into my budget. I was impressed with their deep knowledge about native plants and their expert ability to navigate the mission of having a relatively low maintenance yard that will not only be beautiful, but will also benefit pollinators, the inhabitants of the house who may want to eat things from the property, and the Earth. I can’t wait to do my next project with them and I can’t imagine working with any other landscape company as long as they are around!
